Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

We actually had sunshine, clear blue skies yesterday for the first time in days.

I hope that this means that the forest/wild fires to the north of Edmonton are perhaps lessened.

But more than likely it is because the wind changed.

Yesterday was quite warm.

I brought Humphrey the cat over to spend the day with me and Alvin.

Again they never cease to amaze me.

Sharing the space.

I felt bad taking Alvin for a walk last night as I know how much Humphrey likes to walk sniffing as he goes.

But he was in the backyard for time over the course of the day.

He is quite the cat.

We walked at 7:00 p.m. thinking it was cooler than earlier but only to find out it was still quite warm.

Thankfully I always carry Alvin’s special water bottle/dish with us.

We did not see the geese who were probably near or in the water keeping cool.

In between things yesterday I even left them for a short time while I headed to the grocery store.

Seemed strange but they did great.

Today is Sunday.

Love Sundays.

Pancake breakfast.

Oh, I forgot to grab the frozen blueberries out of the freezer.

Will have to do that right away.

Also going over to pick up Humphrey the Cat (have to make sure that he did his morning ritual before he comes over to spend the day).

Cinder the Gekko has to be fed.

I wished that I could bring her over to my house, too.

Also am going to give Alvin a trim and a bath.

That should be fun.

We always enjoy those, not.

Well in this very moment; I am gleefully happy.

Feel great.

Sitting at the computer clicking away on the keys while Alvin waits outside the office door.

Not sure why ….

I think he knows that his friend will be here shortly.

Spending the day with animals is wonderful.

They warm your heart.

Well time to go and look after my charges: Humphrey the Cat and Cinder the Gekko.

I love my life.

It would be great to be retired with no mortgage and spend my days writing stories and looking after our four-legged creatures.

Alvin, Teddy, Humphrey and Cinder.

Perhaps others from time to time.

Okay, Living … One day at a time …. you never know what will happen.

Does not hurt to look forward a bit as long as do not dwell.

Happy Sunday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 16th day of December, 2014.

One more day closer to Christmas.

Exactly eight sleeps until Christmas Eve and nine until Christmas Morning.

Last night I took out all of my holiday Christmas tins, all 8 of them and filled them up with goodies to distribute to friends and family and co-workers.

If you celebrate this day …

Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?

Do you go to church Christmas Eve?

Do you have a big meal on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?

Do you have family and friends to your home or do you go out?

Perhaps you travel to family at a distance.

I know people celebrate this day in many ways.

Really it is a personal preference  ….. do what feels good to you.

If you prefer to be alone …. then be alone.

If you feel like going to a restaurant to eat then go?

If you feel like cooking for 20 then cook for them.

We open gifts Christmas gifts.

We sleep in a bit on Christmas morning.

We have our big meal for dinner/supper Christmas day.

If there were children in the house it would be gift opening Christmas morning.

I love our personal ritual …… it is quiet and fun.

We enjoy each other’s company and of course, the gifts.

The puppies partake as well.

They get presents, too.

Alvin always tells me what to buy everyone !!

He is one smart puppy.

Well almost time to leave for work at the office.

I hope that whatever your plans are this holiday season that you are safe and happy.

Keep things simple.

Easy “peezy” ….. how do you spell that word ….. “peazy” – well I do not think it is an actual word.

Have a great day, my friends.

Special Hello to: my sister …… talk to you soon.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Thursday, November 17th, 2011 Morning!!

How are you today?

When you wake up in the morning …. how do you feel?

My alarm goes off at 5:00 a.m. but most of the time we are up before that as Mr. Alvin wants to go out to begin his “morning constitutional.”

I love that phrase used mainly by people of my grandparents generation.

Anyway ….. back on track ….

I feel great and most mornings well rested.

When I take Alvin out …. I can hear vehicles running and know how lucky I am to be just getting up.

I suppose one gets used to those extra early morning schedules.

So I hope that each and every one of you out there ….

Is well rested and expresses your gratitude as you begin the day.

I always think and say what I am grateful for and also part of my morning routine or ritual is writing in my gratitude journal.

I do not take anything for granted.

Being grateful for everything  ….. the air that you breathe, the water you drink and the heat that keeps you warm on a cold winter’s night ….

BE GRATEFUL.

Have a great day.

Special Hello to: all those people who are already keeping a gratitude journal.  WAHOO.  GREAT JOB.

P.S. Also THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE FOLKS THAT TAKE THE TIME TO READ MY BLOG.

Always, Carol
