It is a NEW YEAR.

Wow, we were off to a great start to 2020.

Yesterday friends called to see if we wanted to go with them for a walk in the River Valley.

We would drive there and then walk around for about one hour.

It was so absolutely beautiful outside.

We were in the area not far from the Edmonton Valley Zoo.

Even though it was an on leash park several folks did not have their dogs on leashes.

I was so proud of Alvin …. we said hello to everyone and wished them all a Happy New Year.

There was not one bark out of the boy no matter the size of the dogs.

Perhaps because I was so taken aback by the beauty – I was relaxed and not concerned about the dogs.

Although I did pay attention to our surroundings as any good pack leader would do.

My friend’s husband remarked of the circle in the snow.  Looks like something you might find in a field.

The majestic North Saskatchewan River flows through Edmonton and you can see how beautiful it is even

in the winter months.  Frozen but still a most glorious body of water.

My friend was attempting to get a shot of us behind the tree but we just could not get it right.

I had to watch that the branches did not poke Alvin or I, in the eye.

It always amazes me how beautiful winter can be without the pops of colour from trees, flowers and foliage in the summer and fall months.

There were so many people and pups out walking yesterday.

I could see why as the day was amazing.

I believe it was above 0 celsius with no wind.

George (my friend’s grand pup) was searching for squirrels

We did see a couple of squirrels along the way.

This was the most perfect outdoor afternoon that I have spent in a very long time.

The air was so warm that I did not require mitts so I was able to take photos easily.

Alvin was calm and happy.

My friend P made sure that we had photos of me and Alvin on our first adventure of 2020.

It was a great couple of hours.

Relaxing and wonderful.

Great company.

Great weather.

Could not ask for more.

A perfect way to spend the first day of 2020.

I look forward to more new things in 2020.

This was Mr. Alvin’s first walk in the River Valley and my second one.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 27th day of July, 2017.

Well I will say one thing ….. as much as I do enjoy summer …. when the temperatures rise over about 22 degrees …. it is too much for me.

Yesterday it was over 28 degrees celsius in the City which really feels warmer.

Today is supposed to be 30 …… makes me wish that I had gotten my air conditioning serviced sooner.

Oh well ….. I make sure that Mr. Alvin is comfortable in the house while I am at work.

I am drained …… looking forward to a little bit cooler temperatures but do not wish to complain about the warmer weather as it will be w–t– soon.

We walked last night with our walking companions but really we should have stayed home – too warm for us.

I really feel the heat and am thinking that my supper was not an appropriate choice either.

Oh well ….. moving on.

So as my brain is drained and it is early morning which is not likely a good sign …. to start the day…

Oh well, such as life.

Time to get this boat on the river …..

Have an awesome Thursday.

Special Hello to:  All my friends who are placed all over the world.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday, the 21st day of July, 2017.

This is what happened last night.

The skies got so dark just after 8:00 p.m. and luckily we had made it from our walk with a few minutes to spare.

I knew something was coming.

Well when I was thinking about watching one of my Christmas movies this weekend, perhaps I was not far off the mark.

Part of the deck looked like it had snowed as the hail stones huddled together creating quite the sight.

Like diamonds …. in the sky or on my deck, actually.

I am by no means a photographer and I only have a small Canon PowerShot so some of the photos are out of focus due to the flash and lightning and what not.

But I think they turned out quite cool.

It was hailing on the deck which is on the south side of the house and when I ran to the front which faces north there was no hail and the water was flowing like it was a small river.

I am so grateful for the drainage in my yard as it quickly runs down the middle of the front lawn between my house and the neighbours out to the street and down the storm drain.

It truly looked like a small river running to the street.

There was quite the lightning show and a bit of thunder but not too much.

My poor lilies out front took the brunt of the wind and heavy rain while the flowers in the backyard were pelted by hail stones.

I hope that they survive as I want to show them off to my company in August.

Well Happy Friday.

We are so lucky at my office as we are having a pancake breakfast at 7:30 – 9:00 and then we get to go to the parade for K-Days (Exhibition-Fair) or go home.

I am helping serve the breakfast so will be leaving home extra early to be there before or by 7:30 p.m.

I love pancakes …… which reminds me that would be a good thing to make my company for breakfast a day or two while they are visiting.

Special Hello to: my Sister and my Brother who are coming to visit us, soon.

Always, Carol & Alvin
