Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 1st day of FEBRUARY, 2019.

Well winter is now upon us.

Snow, snow and more snow.

Temperatures taking a dip.

Was out shovelling the back deck for the pups about an hour ago.

Should have time to do some of the front before my ride arrives.

So what does one do when the snow is blowing and the temperatures are a dipping?

Answer: You surround yourself with puppy love.

This was my Thursday night.

Now poor Mr. Alvin even though he loves his best bud Teddy very much, he cannot seem to get past Teddy having a chew treat.

Even though he has one of his own.

Teddy just laid there all calm and Alvin was not calm.

Despite my valiant efforts to calm him, he just had to wait until Teddy decided to let him have it.

What a friend.

Alvin, what a spoiled guy.

Alvin finally ended up with both …. Teddy is way too easy going.

Out of site out of mind??

Teddy on the bed with a chew treat AND

Mr. Alvin in the hallway by the bedroom.

Oh, isn’t life grand.

Thankfully the boys slept well last night.

I had a great afternoon ….. teeth cleaning …… received my permanent crown, now I feel like ROYALTY.

Then had supper once the freezing came out.

Had a lovely evening with the boys.

My furry four-legged boys.

Well time to leave for work.

So grateful to one of my co-workers for coming to pick me up.

Taking the bus home tonight will be pleasant, I am sure.

Glad we have food and a warm place to be this weekend.

Hunker down and keep warm.

Special Hello to: all my friends in the west …. hope you are safe and warm.

Always, Carol & Alvin & Teddy

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 11th day of January, 2019.

YAY, today is last day of the work week and the temperatures are WARMING UP.

Definitely not quite bathing suit weather but warm enough for walks.

Tomorrow morning Master Teddy will be spending the day with us while his parents go to their farm.

YAY, Alvin will be happy about his BEST FRIEND visiting.

I dare not say too loud about him coming or he will be watching for him to arrive.

They are so cute together.

Teddy’s Mom & Dad cannot utter the world A-L-V-I-N, even just one minute before they leave to bring him over otherwise he runs and runs and gets so excited.

When they pull up and Alvin knows their vehicles and they have four including the work van.

Alvin starts to bark and runs to the door squeaking in delight and impatience.

So once they are coming up the front walk – I open the door so Alvin can go and greet Teddy.

Just like in the movies but with four-legged friends they run to each other – say hello and into the house.

Alvin runs to get Teddy one of his toys or one of his many chew treats scattered throughout the house and Teddy runs and runs.

When Teddy arrives I just know that our day will be great.

He makes us feel wonderful.

We are so grateful to have Teddy and his parents in our lives.

Alvin has his second treatment for his ear tomorrow, so Teddy will come with us.

Teddy has gone with us on several occasions so nothing new.

Nice for Alvin to have his support.

Last night we managed to get out for a walk.

The temperature was nice enough for Alvin not to freeze his paws so we went.

Yesterday I was at the dentist once again for state 1 of my CROWN.

The temporary one before the permanent one on January 31st.

It is quite the process.

This is my first one.

Not painful and my dentist and his assistant are so GREAT.

Actually he has many dental assistants and quite by luck of the draw; I always get the same one.

I love her …. we get along great.

Hers to hoping that the Universe always assigns her to me.

So now I am “royalty” ……. laughing aloud.

Well almost time to finish here and go back downstairs and get things together.

Final day of work for this week.

Then just doing a different type of work:  housework.

Looking forward to the company.

Have a great Friday.

Special Hello to: all my friends, whether four-legged or two – we all need FRIENDS.  Thank you to all of our friends.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 10th day of January, 2019.

Starting to warm up and it has been lightly snowing off and on since last night.

Always know when it is snowing if not obvious – is when Mr. Alvin comes into the house with a light coating of snow.

So another new Year.

I am always on the look out for new information.

Educating yourself.

I believe that meditation is important.

Staying still and closing the ego and traffic out of your mind is beneficial in so many ways.

Even just a few minutes each day can help so much.

Listening to yourself first.

To that gut instinct.

Listening to others is also important.

Without being drawn into or brought down with the negative chatter.

Being positive.

Finding the silver lining in every situation is a talent, believe me.

Remember we all have crisis or bad things that happen to us.

You are not the only one.

Be mindful of others.

REMEMBER TO LAUGH.

Really life is funny.

Just a few things I know for certain.

I am running late.

Not sure what happened here.

Life, I suppose.

Cannot blame Mr. Alvin – it was all me and time.

Happy Thursday.

This afternoon I have a dental appointment, a crown.

I am becoming ROYALTY.

Lucky me.

Have a great day.

Special Hello: my friend V, who makes me laugh and is so helpful.  Great qualities.  Thank you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

COUNTDOWN: 60 Days to 60

Today is Friday, July 7, 2017 and it is the 34th day until my 60th Birthday.

I think that perhaps I will write a book about my journey to age 60.

The journey has taken me from a small farming community on the Canadian Prairies to a major Western Canadian City  Edmonton, Alberta.

Some days I feel that I have been there – done that.

I did not safari to Africa or sail across the Atlantic Ocean nor have I dated Royalty but I have done some pretty cool things.

So maybe now is the time to start putting pen to paper or fingers to the keyboard.

No one ever knows how much time we have on this planet and with good health and a fairly “sharp” mind, perhaps I should get started.

I am so grateful for this BLOG as I have learned so much about myself with writing a daily post.

Sounds like a plan may be in place.

If you write things down it seems to make them more tangible.

Also once you say you are going to do something – it is a bit more difficult to go back or at least with me.

If I say that I am going to do something – generally I do the thing.

So perhaps this 60 gig will not be so bad.

I will need your help though – I appreciate any and all comments and all of your support.

It is only through these efforts that we truly learn and grow.

So 34 more days until 60.

Whew ….. 34 more …..

At the 60 mark – there will be a yummy CARROT CAKE.

I commissioned a co-worker to make me a huge carrot cake with cream cheese icing.

She is so talented ….. I can hardly wait to share it with my family and friends.

So until tomorrow,

Always, Carol
