Last Half 2022 – September

Good Morning ALL – Fall is upon us as the leaves turn colour and the air begins to crisp. Although this week our temperatures are anything but normal as they are into the mid 20’s.

There is something warm and inviting about fall.

A time to take a breath after the excitement of summer.

Preparing for the next season.

Who shall remain nameless.

In the meantime, we have:

FALL

Soon the leaves will be an array of colour.

I cannot wait.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities and coffee.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 26th day of June, 2018.

The sky is overcast with “rain” clouds and the air is considerably cooler than the past week or so.

The house has COOLED to a comfortable temperature, thankfully for Alvin.

We did not even have to run a FAN last night.

Such a good sleep we had.

We opted not or rather I opted not to go with Alvin for a walk this morning.

We walked last night and it was great having two walks in one day.

Tomorrow will be a two walk day.

I do like going in the mornings.

The peace that fills the air.

Birds conversing as only birds can do.

I have the office window open just to provide some extra coolness to the room and can hear the squawking of crows in the near distance along with the hum of traffic

from the road that wraps around the city.

Otherwise it is quiet, no voices, no sirens, now an airplane, now a truck just started.

That has always amazed me at how many people auto start their cars in the morning and let them run for several minutes.  Why?

I understand in the winter but in the SUMMER.

People.

The sky is being to clear from the south.

A gust of wind just caused the trees to flutter.

Almost time to leave for work.

The carpool is back in action this week.

So many colds and allergies rearing up this season.

I hope that wherever you are and whatever you are doing that you use good judgment, common sense and KINDNESS.

Can you imagine what this world would be like?

Have a great Tuesday.

Special Hello to: all those folks who read books

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 24th day of September, 2016.

Well we had rain overnight and it was raining at 5:30 a.m. when Alvin and I first were up and about.

Later being now 9:00 a.m., the skies have cleared and the sun is shining.

We are just getting ready to leave for our regular six week pedicure and “anal gland squeeze” for Mr. Alvin.

Oddly enough the bum thing does not bother him but his nails being trimmed does.

Now I do get it as a couple of times they have nicked the quick (passed the nail).

His “quicks” are longer than usual.

But I think it startles him more than actually hurts too much.

They are so good at our Vet and treat us, him like family.

He is good for his shots and the bum thing but just does not care too much for getting his nails done.

Funny thing too …. at the Doctor’s they clean and check his ears and he does not fuss too much but at home YIKES.

Later this morning Elton is coming to spend part of the day with me and Alvin as his parents are taking a nephew mini golfing.

Nephew’s birthday was beginning of September but it is sometimes hard to schedule with kids these days.

They are so busy with all of their different activities and their friends.

I am happy that it is the weekend.

Pleased that the sun is going to shine as I must start preparing things for the next season.

I do not wish to trim and pull flowers and bushes because they are looking so good as yet.

With all this moisture they are lasting longer.

As I was reminded by one of my gardener friends …. most years we stop watering once the temperature starts to cool off and that is one of the main

reasons they are finished.

I must trim my big tree out front.

Last year I did it a couple of times by now and this year with all of the rain I have not.

Well it is almost time to leave for the Vet.

I hope that you all have an amazing Saturday.

Happy Saturday.

Special Hello to: my fellow bloggers …. keep writing.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 20th day of September, 2016.

In just a few minutes my daughter, son-in-law and Sir. Elton will be arriving.

Elton is spending the day with me Alvin and I have a car ride to work.

Lucky for all of us.

Alvin is excited to have the company for sure.

His eyes lit up when I mentioned that Elton was coming over.

I am so happy that he has some company once each week.

I feel bad that he spends most of his days alone.

I cannot imagine.

But today is a good day for him.

Makes me feel better as well.

Our mornings are getting cooler.

Soon I will go outside in the morning and my flowers will have passed for the season.

I am so happy that they have lasted this long.

This is my favourite time of year, I think I may have mentioned that before in passing!!

The colours are vibrant and rich.

The yellows, oranges and reds.

Varying degrees of natural beauty.

Perhaps it might be a good idea to check out the long range forecast so that I can figure when a good time to put away the deck furniture.

I started the clean up process of plants.

Soon I will have to trim back the bushes.

They look so amazing at the moment.

Fall is such an amazing time of year.

Feels more relaxing and calm.

Well almost time to finish here as my ride and Alvin’s company will be arriving.

Have to be ready.

I wish you the happiest of Tuesdays.

Enjoy your day.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 7th day of September, 2014.

The sky is a bit overcast but the sun keeps peeking out from time to time and there is a bit of a breeze.

There is that coolness to the air that this time of year brings but yet it is warm and comfortable.

I think this is the favourite season for women over a certain age.

Well at least it is for me.

I love the change in temperature, the colour changes to the trees and foliage.

I love that in between time …..

The time we go from flowers in bloom with all the patio/deck furniture out and enjoying that cup of coffee in the sunshine on a weekend morning to a bare deck but sitting on the chair no flowers still enjoying that cup of coffee.

From wearing shorts and a t-shirt to wearing long pants, t-shirt and sweater.

From sandals to sandals because there is no snow yet….

I love summer do not get me wrong but there is something about cleaning out the flower pots and putting away the patio furniture and putting away the summer things.

There just is.

I cannot place my finger on it …… but I guess maybe if I had to guess it would be a strange clean/tidy as Mother Nature prepares us for winter …..

Anyway now most of my flowers not all are ready to have the pots cleaned out ….. I have a few that are still blooming nicely …. might as well keep them out as long as they are looking good.

Even Alvin is preparing for winter …. I can tell his coat is getting thicker … if that is possible.

Well all thoughts today are to preparing for the next season …..

All thoughts are looking forward to the colour scheme that is coming and in some cases arrived.

I hope that you had a great weekend.

Mine was excellent.

Got lots done with the help of my kids …..

I spoke to a close friend of mine and although she had some bad news I just know in my heart that everything will work out.

Keep her in your prayers.

I am surrounding her with good and positive healing energy …. cannot hurt.

AS I do with  all family and friends and anyone I know that needs some extra goodness ….. good thoughts always.

Special Hello to: all my girlfriends back in Regina …. sure do miss you all and our getting together for coffee…… hopefully one of these times soon I can come and we can all get together for COFFEE.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to a Snowy Tuesday the 11th day of February, 2014.

Yes, it has been snowing off and on since last night.

Looks like shovelling will once again be on the evening agenda.

I do love the way the snow looks as it gently floats to the earth.

The way the snow flakes sparkle and shine in the sunshine and in the moonlight.

What do you love the best about this season … the one we call “WINTER?”

I wonder where the name came from?

Guess that would be something that I could google.

Isn’t the world wide web wonderful?

If you do not remember things from school (which was a long long long time ago ) you can ask the questions on-line and someone somewhere has the answer for you.

Isn’t that great?

Surely is.

Well on this snowy Tuesday I hope that you think of a question that you either cannot remember the answer to or that you simply do not know and ASK on the INTERNET.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Thank you …. I am feeling much better this morning.

Special Hello to: my beautiful sister …..

Thought for the day…..

Hello Wednesday.  Here we are on Day 28th of September, 2011.

Can you believe it?

The leaves on the trees have all turned to beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow.

The grass is not quite as green as it was earlier in the season.

Everyone is beginning to think about and in some cases prepare for the next season.

Autumn is my favourite season and I wish that it would last longer.

I am grateful for this time of year.

I wish that the leaves would hang onto the tree branches for a few weeks longer.

But I understand that the trees are making way for the “winter”.

Yes, I said that word.  LOL.

These are my thoughts at 6:15 a.m. on this Wednesday.

Leaves ….. colours…….love……….ah, I could just close my eyes and ………

Have a great day.

Always, Carol

P.S.  on this Wednesday …… have patience …. on your drive to work, while waiting in a line-up or doing whatever it is that you are doing this day.  Waiting is a good time to relax and meditate and be grateful for all the wonderful things in your life.  Believe you me, there is always so much to be thankful for ….. the air that we breathe, the transportation that takes us where we need to go, a roof over our heads, food on the table, clean water to drink, electricity, heat ……
