Living … One day at a time.

Hello, good morning one and all.

Well today is thankfully Friday.

I am excited for two reasons.

Tomorrow my daughter is popping by and I am hosting a Fifth Avenue Jewelry Show/Party/Event.

I love to entertain and I love jewelry.

We are going to have fun trying on jewelry for an evening.

Of course, there will be some visiting going on as well.

Last night Alvin and I enjoyed a wonderful long walk in our park.

We bumped into Miss Rosie and her Dad.

First time that Alvin got to meet Rosie.

I think she scared him just a bit.

She is young and full of energy.

But all things considered they did well.

I saw Rosie in the early morning before leaving for work with her Mom.

All things Rosie yesterday.

They are a nice family.

I also learned something from Rosie’s Dad.

He told me that they usually start their walk over by the park south of us and then make the loop through this park and then back home.

During their walk in the first park they were stopped by a PEACE OFFICER who told him that “dogs are not allowed to walk on the grass in the park, as it is treated as parkland.”

Surprisingly enough people can.

Dogs are supposed to walk on the sidewalk.

So my question I thought of later was this:

“Where do they poop, on the sidewalk?”

Silliest bylaw I have heard in a long time.

Poor pups now they cannot even walk on the grass.

For all the taxes we pay and now Alvin cannot walk on the grass in the park.

I am not a happy camper?

No grass to sniff?

Argh.

Now what?

Well it is almost time to head off downstairs.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day.

I am going to continue to work on being patient.

Patience is a virtue, so I have heard.

Happy Friday.

With Kindness and Respect, I shall enter yet another moment in time.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 9th day of February, 2019

Happy Birthday to my eldest nephew who turns 42 today.

Happy Birthday T.

The sun is coming up and the sky is clear.

COLD again outside.

Hoping it warms up soon so that we can go for a walk.

We are getting cabin fever.

Yesterday I worked on some projects …. one for Valentine’s Day as we are doing a little something at work.

Alvin is doing great.

Humphrey is coming over to spend some times with us today.

Back on with the cone.

I have been watching Alvin and he has not gone near his incision/stitches on his eye area.

But having a cat in the house and besides he will have to wear that dreadful cone when I go back to work.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Although poor animals that have to wear those plastic things …. why has not someone come up with something better.

Something more comfortable.

Humphrey has a more comfortable cone – made of a soft material.

It is not quite as big as the one that Alvin has and is not clear.

Well I had better get this show on the road.

Breakfast and coffee shortly.

We wish you a Happy Saturday.

Have an awesome day.

Special Hello to:  all those dogs and cats that have to wear those cones.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 2nd day of April, 2018.

The sun is shining brightly and still a bit cool outside.

Hard to believe we are in April.

Grateful that we are getting closer to no ice and snow.

It has been a long winter.

It was wonderful to have a four day weekend off and to be at home.

I wouldn’t say that I accomplished as much as I may have planned earlier on.

But it was relaxing and was able to spend time with some of my friends, my kids and grand-pups and Alvin.

Alvin and I watched the new STAR WARS movie “The Last JEDI” last night.

I really enjoyed it but I think it was too long for Mr. Alvin.

He dozed off within the first half of the movie.

Today will be out preparing for the work week ahead.

Iron clothes, make lunch etc.

I guess tomorrow is garbage day as well.

Also we will head out for a nice walk this afternoon.

I am very grateful for the long weekend.

I am very grateful for my family and friends.

I am very grateful for Alvin and all of the pups in our lives.

I am very grateful that we are in good health.

So time to get this show on the road.

Time flies by.

Thank you for sharing your precious time with me.

Special Hello to: my family and friends, near and far.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 21st day of October, 2015.

Another gorgeous morning …. no rain, which is good.

Only a handful of days left until Halloween.

The house is decorated inside and out.

Bought “treats.”

Likely not the best decision I have ever made …. just have to keep those hands out of the candy bowl ……

Well here we are in the middle of autumn.

Sadly most of the leaves have fallen or were BLOWN off of the trees.

I must say that the ones remaining I am thoroughly enjoying …. love those rich warm colours.

Most people have been taking advantage of this great weather and getting their yards prepared for the next season.

I did mine a few weeks ago now …. only had to rake about 4 times …. but it is good exercise.

Our fall has been so gorgeous ….. some wind and the odd rainy day but overall beautiful.

Walks with Alvin at night … all I can say is that I could just keep on walking.

I want this to last forever.

But sadly I know it will not.

I do worry / think about global warming and hope that governments and citizens will start to be more accountable.

Well here it is almost time to leave for that old bus …. actually most of the buses seem relatively new …. so that is good.

The construction carries on in our surrounding neighbourhood and throughout the city ….. everyone taking advantage of this weather.

Good for business, I guess.

Okay …. enough thinking and time to get this show on the road.

I hope that you have a great day.

Take advantage of this day and go for a walk.

Take your puppy or a friend …. just go outside.

Enjoy.

Special Hello to: all my fellow inhabitants of the planet Earth – let us be better citizens, please.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 15th day of June, 2015.

It is a bright sunny morning here in Edmonton with little breeze.

Hard to believe it is Monday morning already.

Me and Mr. Alvin had a great weekend ….. there were parts of it that I am pretty certain he would not agree were great but nonetheless it was pretty awesome.

It was almost like a spring cleaning kind of weekend.

The task that I am most proud of accomplishing was painting the porch.

It was windy and I did wear some but JOYFUL noise it is done and looks awesome.

All sparkling white and clean.

Sometimes it is those tasks that we put off because we are somewhat “nervous” or “scared” to do that gives us the most satisfaction when completed.

Now I feel like I can do almost anything.

So it was a great weekend.

We accomplished everything on the “TO DO LIST” and even had time for relaxing.

Snuggles with Mr. Alvin …..

My favourite time.

Yes, I cannot believe the weekend is over.

Time to move onto another week with another weekend coming up.

YAY.

So make some noise …. you deserve it …… you did it.

Now it is Monday …. the most dreaded day of the week.

Likely for the most part is because it falls after the weekend and most of us just want to stay home and sleep.

I do make the mistake of sleeping in ….. besides really who wants to get out of bed at 5:00 a.m. when you do not have to … well okay, I can think of one little guy ….. me Alvin …… he always wakes up early.  We always get up but not always stay up.

Well time to get this show on the road.

Happy Monday.

Just take a deep breath …..

If I can move my “Fanny Farkle” up and out, I know that you can, too.

We can do it.

Today is going to be awesome, fantastic, great, spectacular and amazing.

It will …..

Special Hello to: my friends back in Regina …. miss you all.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 4th day of June, 2015

You will never guess what I saw in the sky at 5:15 this morning!

Something so beautiful and unexpected.

So much so that I ran and grabbed my camera.

Well it was a RAINBOW.

There were clouds and a rainbow on the south side of my house.

There was sunshine at the north end.

Funny how that works.

Followed by a few drops of rain and quite warm out for this time of day.

What a wonderful way to begin the day with seeing a rainbow.

Last night after I set the sprinkler to water the front lawn; Alvin and I set out for a walk.

We got to the corner and Alvin spotted our friend “I” out trimming one of her bushes.

So he pulled toward her but I held him back as we had to cross the street first and watch for traffic.

After a check for cars we made a beeline for her house.

Needless to say a few minutes later we were chatting on her front porch steps joined by her husband.

They both love Alvin and do not miss an opportunity to visit him, and me, of course.

Giggling out loud on this end.

Over half a hour later we left to have a quick walk before returning home to turn off the sprinkler.

Needless to say the ground was quite wet.

It got a good soaking.

Oh, my social butterfly …….

Well looks like an “umbrellie” is in store for today ….

So I had better get this show on the road.

I hope that you have a great day.

I wish you rainbows and sunshine.

I wish you love and laughter.

Have a great Thursday.

Special Hello to: my friend “M” ….. so great to reconnect after so many years.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 25th day of March, 2015.

WOW, temperature ended up quite warm as it was melting everywhere.

I love to hear the water running into the storm drains from the melting snow.

Should be another glorious day.

Everyone is feeling better and all going into their perspective offices today.

So many things going around … all I can say is that I feel great and am going to stay that way.

The pups will be wondering what the heck is going on.

One day Mom and Dad are at home at the next the house is empty.

They will be okay.

I am looking into the near future and am grateful to have weekends off ….

I am grateful for the upcoming summer and picking out flowers to grace my front porch and backyard.

So much fun.

I love flowers and love fiddling with them.

The more the better.

I hope to find lots of beautiful ones this spring.

Well sounds like the troops are almost ready to go so that means I had better get the show on the road.

I hope that you are having an awesome week thus far as am I.

Take care.

Special Hello to: all those people who love flowers.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday, the 23rd day of September, 2014.

First off, I just want to say that Edmonton had +29 celsius yesterday and I had the air conditioning on for the puppies.

CRAZY …… a/c on and the leaves are turning colours …… seems odd…..

Well last night was the first night of “THE VOICE.”

Just when you think last year had great singers …..

You get blown away all over again.

There is a huge talent pool out there, and so great for them to have a forum such as The Voice.

It is my top show ….

I was wondering how the new “coaches” would do but they fit in as if they have always been on the show.

I always have loved the chemistry between Adam and Blake and nothing has changed.

However, I have added Gwen and Pharrell to on screen chemistry …… she is such a lady and Mr. Williams quite the gentleman.

They rocked the first show.

I was very impressed with them both.

This season could very well be the best one yet.

Definitely something to look forward to and thank goodness for the ability to record ….. just in case …

So on this Tuesday, I hope you are well and ready for another day.

Smile and always put your best foot forward so to speak ….. be happy …. it is the way to go.

When you have a time when things may not be going quite right …. think of something that makes you bend over laughing and makes you feel so good.

I often think of the song “HAPPY” by the new Voice Coach …… love it.

Happy Tuesday.

Special Hello to: my sister …….

Always, Carol and Alvin
