Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 16th day of October, 2016.

Grey skies out there this morning.

I believe they are forecasting more freezing rain over the next day or so.

Not a good thing.

Funny how dark skies makes everything feel so quiet and sunny skies are noisy.

I guess we do things differently on those days.

Going to be a quiet Sunday ….. finishing up some cleaning.

Work on my Steeped Tea business.

Just enjoy the day with my boy.

I am grateful to have some less hectic days.

The leaves are all off of my tree now.

Missed that final final raking but I guess a bit of leaf cover is not all bad.

Alvin is patiently waiting for me outside the office.

These days he is not liking walking on the laminate floors.

A sign of getting older.

Oh the joys.

Well I have to fly again …. always flying.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 29th day of May, 2016.

It is another glorious morning with the sun shining and blue skies.

I am hosting another garage sale today and thank goodness for “light” blue sunny skies this weekend.

Alvin went to his sister’s for a sleepover and to be with them during the garage sale.

He gets so excited when people come and it is kind of boring for him to be stuck in the garage with me all day.

Not much fun.

I have a good feeling about this one and know it is going to be great.

Lots of people and lots of sales.

Bye bye stuff.

 

Last night I was invited to one of friend’s homes for a get together.

Family friendly.

In the beginning we sat in the backyard around a fire pit.

I was not there (only a couple of minutes from my house) very long when the skies started to cloud over and the wind got up.

We sat and roasted marshmallows and visited.

Then it started to “spit” (only a few drops) and we jokingly said “no it was sun rays” ….. trying to remain positive.

As it rained harder and harder – we pulled out the umbrellas as remained outside in the rain roasting marshmallows until it rained so hard we were forced to go inside.

That was after about one hour or so.

In the house we played cards …. so much fun.

Most Saturday nights it is me and Alvin at home – watch some shows or perhaps a movie but I do not go out anywhere unless we do a later walk.

We laughed and guess what I won the card game.

First time played it.

Luck of the Irish …. I do not know but it was so much fun.

I am so grateful to have been invited and for the evening out.

So grateful that Alvin was not home alone for that time, as well.

Likely another reason why I do not go out.

I figure he is alone all week while I am at work so he needs me at home all weekend.

Which is fair, I think.

Well time to get going and get some coffee on and have breakfast.

Get out and put up the signs and balloons.

Gather my stuff and IPOD and set up in the garage.

Actually everything is ready to go.

Have an awesome day.

 

The rain clouds are gone and sunny days ahead.

Life is great.

You just have to think outside the box …… just referring to a problem I had ….. but all is well now.

Remember if you are having a problem … try not to dwell on it ….. it is hard, believe me I know all too well.

If you just think of a solution that you might think initially would not work but then it does …. life is good.

Not everything is black and white.

There are people to help.

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 8th day of July, 2015.

Mid week ….. sunny with signs of fires still lingering in the air.

SMOKE ….. you can smell it everywhere.

Did you know most forest fires can be prevented?

There is a breeze this morning which is nice so the air feels refreshing.

Supposed to be plus 30 degrees celsius.

That is hot for me.

Definitely a day to turn on the air conditioning otherwise Mr. Alvin will hot.

News: Mr. Alvin is starting to use the new ottoman to get onto the bed but still not sure about coming down.  He is one funny guy.  Oh well, hopefully he will get used to it this century …. I sure hope.  Poor guy.

I am so grateful that I live where I live …. am surrounded by the best neighbours on the planet …… am in good health …… am part of a great family …… feeling very very blessed this Wednesday.

So am leaving the house in a “Happy State of Mind” ……..

I hope that happiness surrounds you this day and everyday.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 17th day of May, 2014.

Last night Alvin slept at his sister’s house as I worked at the store.

So this morning I did not have my “alarm” clock to get me up and mobile early.

So I slept in ……

It is always funny how you will wake up when the body figures it is time but then your mind takes over and goes “well” it is still early I will just stay in bed a bit longer.

So needless to say, I did on all counts.

But I am up now.

My daughter reminded me as any great daughter would ….. “It is okay, Mom to sleep in” …… oh, how I love me daughter.

Now I do not feel that foreboding sense of guilty that if I had got my butt out of bed two hours earlier I could have done this and that …. that and this….

Anyway …. if you are thinking the same thing ….. S-T-O-P ……. if you want to relax in bed for a few minutes, a hour or two extra that is okay.

Now I know if you have small children that may not work.  Maybe your spouse would watch the kiddies in that case.

So on this Saturday morning I am now ready to go ….. I made my bed, washed my face and threw on a bit of makeup, got dressed, gathered the laundry and am writing my blog all before heading downstairs.

I can be quick once I get going….

So have a great Saturday.

I am going to enjoy the sunshine …. we are going to C-O-S-T-C-O ……..

Later we are going to put up the posters for the neighbourhood clean-up that I am organizing with the help of my friends and daughter.

Oops gotta run I am also watching “Aussie” the cat ….. she will need some fresh food and water and ATTENTION…..

Special Hello to: all you folks who slept in ….. it is okay…. the laundry will still be there when you get out of bed ….. so will the rest of your TO DO LIST.

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday, the 22nd day of July 2013.

What a fantastic morning it has been thus far.

When Alvin and I got up this morning it was walk time …. no more putting it off.

We were going to go.

When we got outside there was a breeze, a good mix of cool and warm; huge dark blue rain clouds hung off not to far away and there was lightning.

I hesitated and then thought “we have time” and we put on a good pace and did our complete walk.

Once we got back home, I decided to pull the flower pots close to the house for protection and to put the patio cushions in the garage.

Just back in the house and I heard a noise and looked out to see huge raindrops hitting the deck.

We were so lucky.

It has been pouring almost since that time which was about 5:30 so almost one hour.

I think we have enough moisture now.

Anyway, I am so grateful that we were able to get out and walk this morning.

 

I have one more “thought for the day” ….. bit more on the serious side.

Have you noticed these days with all of the social media how easy it is to “by a key stroke end a friendship.”

Perhaps it is not actually ending the friendship but certainly it is ignoring it.

Years ago …. people would physically ignore you or call on the telephone to “say it was over.”

Perhaps that was more if you were dating.

But how sad is it?

We are becoming a society of individuals that do not communicate.

No responsibility …. no face to face.

I am always surprised by the amount of “rudeness” there is in the world.

Anyway, I just wanted to mention that if you are less than happy with someone or have a gripe with them ….. call them or go see them.

Do not just “un friend” them.

Take responsibility for your actions and thoughts.

How would we ever know what the issue was ….. if no one says anything.

Speculate … that’s not good.

Sometimes there might be things we do not wish to hear but they need to be said.

That is how we grow and develop as humans.

So on this rainy Monday ….. “remember to talk” …. really talk ….. not just keying some abbreviations and signs.
