Thought for the day …….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 15th day of March, 2017.

Today is the 14th Birthday of my Great-Niece “S.”

I thought she was going to be 13 but her Grandma reminded me that she is turning 14.

Wow, the little blonde-headed girl is into the teen-age years.

How did that happen?

I remember when her Grandma brought her to my house and they stayed for a sleepover.

We gave her a bath in the big tub, read her stories and enjoyed the evening.

We had a few of those which were great.

She often would come to my house in Regina for a visit.

We would watch movies and go for walks.

Play at the park.

My how time flies.

Happy Birthday “S” …… Wishing you a great day and year ahead.

************************************************

Another warm day ahead for the City of Edmonton.

Plus temperatures are always good at this time of year.

Looking forward to our walk tonight.

Last night it was gorgeous.

We set out on our walk.

As we approached the park we both saw a young man and a little white dog on the other side of the street.

Both Alvin and the little one spotted each other.

Alvin pulled as though he were pulling a sled but it was me.

The other little doggie started to bark.

The young man crossed the street to the same side as us.

They were not too far ahead.

The little white dog kept turning around and barking at Alvin.

Alvin kept pulling me like there was no tomorrow.

I had to break into a run at some points.

We did not catch up but this kept up until we were over half way around the park.

They actually took a left turn and we then took a right.

Ending up walking our whole regular walk.

Felt so good and it was good for Mr. Alvin, as well.

What a character.

I cannot imagine why he thinks his Momma is a sled (perhaps I have put on a couple or five pounds this winter).

It was a great night.

****************************************

So today our office is closed and we have an off-site staff meeting.

One of the girls that I work with is picking me up as well as two others.

So a ride to and from work today in a car.

How lovely.

Will be a nice break from phones and paper …….

My hands have sure taken a beating from this constant change in the weather.

Does not seem to matter how much moisturizer I use or how often.

I hope that you all have an awesome day.

Better get going here so I am ready to leave when my ride arrives.

Happy Wednesday.

Special Hello: to the Birthday Girl…… Happy Birthday Little One.

Always, Carol and Alvin

One of my favourite photos of the Birthday Girl from way back when …….

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 16th day of February, 2017.

Another gorgeous morning here in Edmonton.

OH my goodness, the temperature was +16 degrees celsius here in Edmonton yesterday, reminiscent of a summer’s day.

Forecast for today +10 degrees celsius which is still wonderful for February.

Pinch me, pinch again.

Really and it is mid February not June???

Well we have had another odd winter to say the least.

Off and on.

One week -25 or so and the next plus temperatures.

Gotta love this neck of the woods so to speak.

Oh and the sunrise yesterday morning was gorgeous …..

Well I am also glad that today is payday.

Also a good day.

Alvin and I enjoyed a walk last night although getting to the park was kind of …. well it was icy…. I will leave it at that.

Even Mr. Alvin was slipping as he ran along pulling his Momma behind him.

Somedays he reminds me of one of the huskies pulling a sled.

Well almost time to leave once again for the bus.

Tossing around what to wear.

More ice than snow.

More ice than clear sidewalk.

Some water ….

No rubber boots.

Shoes or winter boots.

Yesterday on the bus my feet were so HOT.

Remember it was +16 ….. down to 15+ by the time I caught the bus but still hot.

Winter coat, winter coat with no liner or spring jacket.

What to do.

Have to decide before I get downstairs – I have less than 10 minutes before out the door.

Have a great Thursday.

Enjoy the day…..

Special Hello to: All those folks who read my blog, thank you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 23rd day of November, 2015.

Another gorgeous morning here in Edmonton.

I think I shall wear my shoes today.

Might as well take advantage of dry streets and sidewalks and the warm temperatures.

Another great Sunday was had by me and Mr. Alvin.

We did laundry, mostly me but he had good instructions.

We labelled and priced the last of the jewellery and packed it for the craft sale.

We put together some tea samples to take to work today.

We put the new jewellery in bags ready for transport to the office to show the girls.

We put away the ornaments that were just set on top of boxes and the table downstairs.

We decorated the upstairs bannister for Christmas.

Let’s see there were more things but it was so nice to get so much accomplished.

There was even time for the odd break here and there.

Mr. Alvin is a very good help mainly in the supervisory area.

But we all need some supervision from time to time and I tend to drift sometimes.

Both of us enjoyed our walk …. so beautiful out yesterday afternoon.

Time to go to work ….

Another Monday.

Hard to believe that one week from tomorrow is December 1st.

I hope that you had an awesome weekend.

Did you listen to music?

One little story….on our walk yesterday.

We were on our way home when we noticed one of our neighbours out putting up a reindeer and sled with the help of his young son.

I was smiling as the young boy had shorts on and a winter coat.

Alvin of course wanted to go and say hello.

The Dad and I chatted.

Dad said so nice to have this good weather for decorating outside.

I agreed.

Then a young girl came out …. Alvin was in his glory.

The kids were trying to help.

Trying is good.

Well time to go.

Have a GREAT day.

Special Hello to: all those Dads who decorate with the kiddies’ help ….

Always, Carol and Alvin
