Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 17th day of October, 2018.

It has been an odd morning here in our house.

Nothing bad for sure, just odd.

We were up at 4:00 originally which is not out of the ordinary for us.

Alvin had his breakfast, some water and outside for a bathroom break.

At 4:02 a.m. I set the microwave timer for 75 minutes which would have brought us to 5:17 a.m.

Then we hit the sofa for that extra sleep.

Next thing I know I checked my watch and to my horror it read 5:40 a.m.

I had to rub my eyes and recheck the time.

I must have slept through the timer.

Up fast and into the kitchen.

I wrote in my gratitude journal ….. slept in no time to write……thinking I am grateful that I still had time to do most everything else if I got to it.

So I ate breakfast,

Showered.

Got dressed.

Now writing this post.

 

At the rear of my house (which is where my office is located) I can hear a small dog barking in the near distance.

I think it is the same dog that barks most of the time.

This leads me to believe that the dog is outside all of the time.

I believe that I am going to investigate in the daytime (after work).

Poor little thing.

Why have dogs if they cannot stay in the house, especially if they are small.

There are no lights out back and when I opened the window it was pitch black (at this time).

Poor little thing.

 

I look at my little Alvin and think to myself that both him and I are so lucky.

So blessed to have found each other.

There are days perhaps when one or the other of us might be less than patient with the other but we would never hurt the other one.

I would NEVER leave him outside all of the time.

At the end of the day, I know he is snuggled next to me and is safe.

 

I am surprised that no one has called in a complaint to the city for the barking?

Why the once for Alvin and none for this little guy?

Perhaps if the city came out …. they could help him out.

Well in the meantime I will look into this matter.

Discreetly, of course.

 

Well almost time to leave as I am catching the bus today as my carpool is sick.

I hope that you all have an awesome day.

If you are going to have a pet …. be respectful of them.

They are living breathing creatures just like us.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 14th day of March, 2018.

Still dark out and it is after 7:00 a.m.

We have an off site staff meeting today and our office is closed.

One of my co-workers is picking me up so we are leaving later than my usual 6:25 a.m.

 

Update on my Alvin.

He has a “yeast” ear infection, and I guess it is pretty bad.

Bad Momma.

Not sure how I missed that …. that would be why he did not want me to clean his ear.

Usually he does not like his ears cleaned so I did not think further.

His other ear was okay.

My sense of smell must be way off.

Anyway he had his first treatment yesterday which lasts for one week.

Then his second treatment is next Tuesday and the follow-up the next Tuesday.

He is doing well and SLEPT last night.

That was great for both of us.

Reminder to everyone to clean your doggie’s ears.

Make sure that you use the VET recommended ear cleaner.

The VET said yesterday that someone was using vinegar ….. can you imagine?

Why would you use vinegar.

Oh my goodness.

When in doubt, ask someone.

Phone a VET.

 

Well almost time to go.

See if the boy has to go outside one last time.

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 2nd day of December, 2017.

The sun is trying to shine but it is quite mild and we are loving it.

Today is the birthday of one of my friends “J” …… Wishing you a Happy Happy Birthday.

Well most folks know that we had a Christmas party at my house last night.

Starting point was three of us going for supper to a nearby restaurant.

We had an excellent supper and drinks.

Then back here.

Alvin had gone to his sister’s for a sleepover on Thursday night so no worries about my boy.

He would not be alone.

Back here we had OREO Cheesecakes and Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies, coffee with white chocolate Bailey’s, WINE and a coconut rum drink.

We ate and drank and drank some more but MoStLy we laughed.

It was after 2:00 a.m. when I went to bed and considering that on Friday morning I was up at 5:30, I felt amazing.

When my daughter called about 10:00 a.m. this morning; I was still in bed but awake.

Considering I drank (which I normally do not), I have never felt more clear headed and awake so I guess I had a great sleep.

Just feeling so grateful to have such a thoughtful daughter to have her little brother for a sleepover so her Momma would not have to worry about him AnD to my GIRLS ….. thank you so much.

We laughed so hard and had SUCH an amazing time, thank you so so much.

My WISH for the rest of the planet is to have even one night where you are surrounded by wonderful people, sharing good food and maybe some drinks but above all LAUGHING.

I believe that it was the laughter that housed my good sleep. Thank you to my girls ….. Thank you to you, too. Merry Christmas.

Now back to laundry and baking SUGAR COOKIES, cause there would not be a Christmas without Carol’s Sugar Cookies or so I am told.

Even rest now time to get this show really on the road.

Alvin is staying very close as we begin to take in this enormous space, and our nervous energies feed each other, and I think of Alice in Wonderland, and  what shall our next move be as a bright purple balloon drifts by.

It is absolutely amazing the dress, my friend, balloons, family, old boyfriends, my house, Christmas, all of the things that I have loved during my life are appearing as Alvin and I make our way through it all.

Okay, I think let me give this a try as my mind unleashes the imagination that has been locked up as of late and before I could say anything we are curled up on a oversized leather sofa in front of a fireplace looking out of an enormous window to a breathtaking view of the mountains which are covered with snow; my heart leaps with excitement.

Almost as quickly as that thought occurred  …. out of the corner of my eye I see my nephews James, Henry and Blake walking toward me, and there in front of me is my daughter; “Oh my god” I squeal with delight as I run to her, and squeeze her tight.

 “I have missed you, my darling” I whisper in my daughter’s ear and she says “Me, too Mom.” and as I stand back to take this all in – Alvin jumps up on his “sister.”

Just as I am thinking of dreams there appears in front of us a huge bed covered with the fluffiest white blanket and pillows; it is then that I realize for as long as this journey has taken us we have not slept and I am tired, so must Alvin be,  and we shall sleep.
