Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 11th day of July, 2017.

What a difference in temperatures between Sunday night and last night.

It really cooled down.

Did not even need the fan on during the night.

The sudden drop in temperature always freaks me out a bit as it generally means a storm is brewing.

They did forecast some tornadoes in central Alberta last night.

We are grateful to sleep with just the window open.

Well Mr. Alvin did not sleep through the night last night.

I am beginning to think that it had something to do with the “fan.”

Will try with fan on tonight and see what happens.

Having a small rain shower at this moment.

The air is cool and crisp ….. thank goodness for a cool house.

Just thinking about this ….. due to the cancellation of my bus in the morning …. I now arrive later but on time of course.

So instead of worrying about making coffee ….. one of my co-workers who changed her work schedule just recently ….. well she just whips up a couple of pots.

Thinking of me ….. they are ready for when I arrive.

How lucky am I?

I guess what goes around comes around …..

So for the summer I will have my morning coffee made for me.

In the fall when the bus schedule returns to norm …. I will gladly assume my coffee making duties.

What a great life I have….

I was thinking about great it would be to have 1,000 followers on my blog.

Years ago when I first started writing this blog on Word Press, I so badly wanted 1,000,000 followers.

Perhaps that was a bit on the high side.

Now reality has set in and this small town …. big city girl is grateful to have 665 followers.

Shooting for 1,000 ….. why not?

Special Hello to: all those folks who read my blog.  I am so grateful.  This is making my dreams come true.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday, the 25th day of March, 2013.

Wow, another clear morning sky filled with bright shining stars and the MOON.

I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.

Mine was great.  I had coffee on two separate occasions with my daughter, did some laundry, grocery shopping, bit of housecleaning, walked with Alvin, worked at the store Friday night and Sunday.

Life is good.

I am so lucky to work for Bath & Body Works at West Edmonton Mall.

We meet people from all of the world.

Yesterday I met a young couple from Brasil, South America.

My Father visited Brazil when we were living on the farm in Saskatchewan.

One of the people that my Dad had met while there was a young man named Bill, and he even came to visit us on the farm.

The couple actually lived near one of the places my Dad visited often.

They were the sweetest, nicest people.  I helped them find gifts for family and friends.

I was able to secure a coupon for them towards their purchase and they both gave me a hug as they were about to pay for their items.

I truly love meeting people …… it is one of my many blessings.

We see people from all over Canada and the U.S. and the WORLD.

I have met people from Russia, United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and all over North America.

Very cool.  So for now this is how I travel …… by meeting people while working in a store.

People from everywhere …..

Everyone loves our store ….. we all love things that smell good.

So if you are not able to travel and you want to get away by meeting new people just work in retail ….. especially in a city.

If you are in a small town and work in a store that does not necessarily have visitors from far away use your imagination …… just pretend they are someone from London or Paris or Peru.

So on this first day of my work week for the office ….. Have a great one.
