Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Well we are in the midst of a heat wave.

Yesterday was 29 degrees celsius not including the HUMIDEX and today will be 37 with the HUMIDEX.

YIKES.

We were going for a walk at 5:00 a.m. but ended up going at 5:15 a.m. – waited until it was a slight bit more light outside.

The walk was great.

No time for changing so I threw on a longer coat over my nightgown and out we went.

We only saw one guy with his young HUGE German Shepherd dog.

The doggie was so full of energy …. he just wanted to play.

The boys said hello, Alvin was not impressed with the energy level.

He sniffed and sniffed as we made our way around our usual route.

Even walked through a small rain shower.

We saw Teddy’s Dad leaving for work.

Home by 5:45 a.m. …. so am rushing a bit, I will say.

But how glorious …. an early morning walk.

The air was still cool.

Opened the windows before when we first got up at 3:00 a.m. ….. it was Alvin this time.

Oh well, that is what happens when you have two “seniors” on the premises.

Time is clicking away ….

I am so congested from the humidity that I could not smell the gorgeous ROSES that line the walk by the park.

Alvin gave them a sniff.

Sorry … just having a sneezing fit.

Well looks like time to get this show on the road.

I hope that you enjoy this Tuesday.

Nice to have the sunshine and warmer temps and I hope that you are comfortable.

Always be kind and respectful.

I have to remind myself as sometimes we can go in another direction.

Happy Tuesday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Another rainy day in Edmonton.

With no appearance of stopping today.

We enjoyed a lovely walk last night around the park by our home.

Went to bed on time.

Alvin woke me up about 11:00 a.m. and I managed to get him to go back to sleep.

By 1:00 a.m. he was up.

Shaking his head as if to shake something loose.

Quivering a bit.

He had been sneezing a bit over the passed few days.

Can dogs get a cold?

He has also made me wonder if he has been “peeing” properly as his posture seems to be different the past few days.

Thoughts racing through my head.

So after being awake for hours and so tired.

I made the executive decision to stay home with him and take him to the vet.

This morning he seems to be okay.

Only some of the symptoms from late last night or early this morning.

So I will make him an appointment for later and hopefully the rain will let up.

I am so tired at this point.

Perhaps we will lay down.

Note: he did eat his breakfast but later.

I wished that he could tell me when he is not feeling well.

Always good to check things out.

Which I will.

So I will have some breakfast and then perhaps a nice cup of hot coffee as it is cold in the house.

The temperature is low this morning but no frost …. it is raining.

The plants, trees and grass are all so nice and green.

Sorry for the shortness of this post.

So tired.

Keep good thoughts for me Alvin.

As I shall keep good ones for you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 29th day of October, 2017.

Windy overnight and the sky is clearing although to the east the dark blue clouds crouch into the light.

No moisture overnight and that is good.

Each day without at this point is a good thing.

Two days until Halloween and then only a few sleeps after that until we decorate for Christmas.

Yesterday Alvin and I puppy sat our little friend “Teddy.”

He is a bundle of energy and loves to cuddle.

He really did not like to be outside but definitely followed me wherever I went.

We had a great day.

I worked on some of my Christmas crafts throughout the day and played with the pups.

This morning it is coffee with my girls in the hood.

We try to have coffee quite regular but sometimes our lives get crazy and we miss a few weekends.

Each one takes a turn hosting although I think it must be my turn by now.

Seems like it anyway.

Oh now, just had several sneezes in a row.

I have had this “cold” thing for a little bit now but nothing much.

So many people at work and on the bus coughing and sneezing and hacking away.

I hope that you all had an awesome Saturday and that your Sunday is amazing.

Remember take some time for yourself.

Play with your pups.

Spend time with your children.

Go for a walk with your spouse.

Remember to tell your loved ones that you love them.

Even when your day is going to heck in a hand basket …. find the good …. find the positive and let it set sail.

Happy Sunday.

Special Hello to: my friends new and old all over the world.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning …… mmm Tuesday, December 27th, 2011 …… on Christmas Eve morning I awoke with a bad cold …… and it is still with me but I am now feeling more myself.  Unfortunately I missed the annual Christmas Eve get together at Dan & Janelle’s home.  Instead I stayed at home curled up on the sofa with Alvin, Elton and Penny.  Amanda and Steven arrived about 10:30 p.m. and that’s when we opened our gifts.  The puppies were so excited.  This year Sir Elton was the one that had all the energy, and was into everything.  This is quite the change from his normal self.  It was cute to watch him in action.  Meanwhile our girl Penny was quiet, and Alvin was somewhere in between.  We had a fun couple of hours before retreating to bed.  My most favourite gift was a photo book that Amanda had done of Alvin’s life/time with me (us) thus far.  OMG, it was so emotional.  I love being surrounded in my own home by my family: Amanda, Steven, Elton, Penny and Alvin.

Christmas Day was fun in between sneezing and blowing my nose.  I know gross.   But I managed to get everything ready, and we had a grand time.  We also had a friend of Steven and Amanda, join us …. that is always great fun.  We played one of the trivia pursuit board games before supper for a bit.  We tried Tofu-Turkey (cannot remember the spelling) which was actually quite good.  It is quite funny that as a vegetarian we still try to “eat meat.”   Then mostly ate and visited which is perfect.

Yesterday on Boxing Day …… me and Alvin laid on the sofa and in between sleeping we watched four Star Trek movies.  Earlier in the day … Amanda came over to have coffee, pick up their car and take “food” and their gifts etc.  home.

So I hope that you had a great Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

While I am feeling almost human I am going to run and put a load of laundry on …….gotta go … feel those darn sneezes coming on…… oh … no…. !!

Have a great day.

Special Hello:  TO YOU and YOU AND YOU…….

Always, Carol
