Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 31st day of March, 2018.

The last day of March 2018.

Today is the birthday of a dear friend of mine from Saskatchewan “P.”

Wishing my friend the most wonderful birthday.

We had a guest for a sleepover last night.

Master Teddy.

His Momma dropped him off about 7:15 p.m. last night and she also stayed for a little visit.

Teddy’s Mom also brought both Alvin and Teddy this huge chew treat.

Somehow during that few minutes afterward Alvin was chewing on one and Teddy had none.

We looked all over the main floor and nothing.

Could it be that Mr. Alvin ate the huge treat in that short of time.

We looked under the sofa and chairs.

Under the pillows and throw blankets.

In the corners and everywhere.

Not to be found.

After our investigation it was plain to see that Alvin had been the culprit.

Eating most of both of the treats.

We visited for a few more minutes and then it was just me and the boys.

Deciding that Teddy should have some of the last remaining treat, after all it was his.

I managed to wrangle what was left of the second one and cut a piece off for Teddy.

Alvin had no problem sharing his new bed with Teddy.

Nice to see that someone loves the new bed.

Both black and white.

On older and one younger.

Both cuteness galore.

Having fun with these guys.

Alvin is learning to share ( a little ).

You never know what will happen at night time.

Teddy has a cute little black & white blanket and a stuff animal “Eyore”  (possibly not correct spelling).

Alvin thought that he should have it so I had to wrestle it away from him a few times.

While I was reading the boys started to get comfortable.

Alvin slept near the pillow at the head of the bed close to me.

Teddy had his blanket, Eyore and was by my legs.

I find it uncomfortable to sleep in one spot for the whole night.

I usually go from one side to the other after I have finished reading.

At one point the little one was sleeping in between my legs as I lay on my side.

But both settled in and both managed to snuggle close to me.

Nice to feel “wanted.”

Teddy ended up on the outside side of the bed next to me with Alvin beside me at the top of the bed.

It is always interesting to see what Alvin will do and he has not really surprised me.

He is a Momma’s boy.

Alvin as usual was up early but Teddy would have slept (given the opportunity).

At this time Teddy is laying on our bed chewing on a treat and Alvin has his treat on the blanket in my office.

He keeps going back and forth.

He really wants the treat that Teddy has but after being scolded earlier for attempting to take the treat from him, he has listened.

Imagine that.

Alvin listening.

Well time to go and get dressed and have some coffee.

We are enjoying this sleepover.

Later my daughter and family are coming over for a visit and for supper.

Will be interesting to see FOUR puppies …..

Funny …. Alvin is laying in the doorway to the bedroom watching Teddy.

What a guy.

Well I must get going here.

I hope that you enjoy the photos.

Happy Saturday.

Special Hello to: my friend “P” back in Saskatchewan enjoying a birthday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 7th day of February, 2017.

Another blast of frigid  temperatures again today.

Last night the weather channel said minus 29 degrees celsius for this morning and I believe that would be without any wind chill.

YIKES.

We have ran the gambit of temperature ranges this winter.

When it is super cold out I find that it is hard to think of anything else but keeping warm, eating and sleeping.

Perhaps we were meant to hibernate?

What do you think?

I like the idea of a long sleep but not quite that long.

This morning Mr. Alvin wanted to sit on my lap.

The only thing was that I was still eating my oatmeal.

So it was not because he really wanted to snuggle but rather because he was drawn to the yummy smell of my breakfast.

What a guy?

I did take the opportunity to snuggle even though he was more interested in my breakfast.

Well it is almost time once again to make the trail to the bus.

Thank goodness for warm boots, coat and gear.

Perhaps an extra scarf this morning.

I hope that you are warm and safe wherever you are in this world.

Have an awesome Tuesday.

I hope that you have an “Alvin” to snuggle with ……

Special Hello to: Baby Milo, Grandma forgot to check on you last night after your surgery.  I hope it went well.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 5th day of January, 2017.

Another warmer day …. YAHOO.

Alvin and I enjoyed a nice walk although not as long as our regular one it was still nice.

He sniffed the ground and I smelled the early evening air.

Always a bonus to have walking weather in the winter.

Another morning on the sofa for a few minutes and Alvin as if on queue laid down beside me on the pillow with no wiggle room.

Thank goodness for longer pillows.

So nice to have that snuggle in the early morning.

Great way to begin the day.

He certainly has a way of melting one’s heart.

He is my buddy and I appreciate him.

Sometimes we annoy each other but that is to be said for most relationships.

The good times certainly out way the less than perfect ones.

Isn’t that the way with us all.

Does not matter if it is with a two-legged or four-legged relationship.

I wish you all a great Thursday.

May you be surrounded by snuggles, warmth and love.

Special Hello to:  All those celebrating a birthday today.  Happy Birthday.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 11th day of September, 2015.

Still getting used to it being dark but soon it will be light.

Oh, Mr. Alvin just let out a huge sigh.

I wished that I could spend my days at home with him.

We would take long walks like we used to …. go exploring.

We would snuggle more….

We would just be.

We do the best that we can for now.

Ever opportunity for a belly rub or to snuggle.

The one thing that I could do more is “play” …. throw the ball.

We do have one game that he loves …

Out on the deck.

I pretend to be a “monster” for lack of a better word … only by raising my hands above my head and taking a wider stance with my feet placement and growling.

He then takes his nose down posture a little bark ….. bit of a jump in the air and off he runs.

Up and down the stairs and across the deck.

He is so cute to watch.

It is my favourite time with him other than when we are snuggled at night time.

On the deck he runs and that little hop jump thing that he does …. honestly I laugh it is so darn cute.

Well I opted to stay on the sofa until 5:50 a.m. this morning which gave me 50 minutes to: write in my gratitude journal, make and eat breakfast, makeup and dressed, and my blog ……

YAY …. I did it.

Well time to put in one last day at the office before the weekend.

It is a great day.

I am so grateful for everyone and everything in my life.

For every door that is opened and every one that is closed.

For every giggle and every tear.

For every bit of food and for every meal.

For living in a country that is peaceful.

For my life …. it is a great one ….

Well time to run to catch the bus and let Mr. Alvin out one last time.

Have an awesome Friday.

Remember everything that happens is an opportunity to do better.

That is what I think and work on doing.

Someone once said if you say “work on” instead of “try” you will do it.

Special Hello to: my sister “C” …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 8th day of January, 2015.

Seems like a dream ……

I just woke up and today is the 8th day of the New Year.

Actually I have been at home sick for the past three days so I guess that is why.

When you are not feeling well time just seems to stand still.

Until you are ready to go back to work and realize that three whole days have gone by.

Three days that you pretty much slept through.

Three days that you spent wishing to feel better.

The best part of the three days was that I was with me Alvin.

It was so nice to snuggle with him on the sofa.

Elton and Penny, of course were here to make “Grandma” feel better.

So back to work ….

It seems strange ….

Like I am starting all over again….

Back to it …. back to my life.

I hope that all is well with you and that you are having a great week.

Sorry that I missed it.

Special Hello to: “Belated Birthday Wishes to my BF back in Regina” ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Welcome to Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012.

I was away from my blog and work yesterday as I was not feeling well.

Feeling quite a bit better today.

I am always amazed at how you can be feeling great one minute and not so much the next.

I am grateful this morning that I awoke to dry ground (had forecasted some of the white stuff for overnight).

I am grateful to be feeling better this morning.

I am grateful that I had Alvin to snuggle next to yesterday when I wasn’t feeling well.

I am grateful to have a beautiful home and to live in such an incredible city and neighbourhood.

I am grateful to be Canadian.

I am grateful that I have this forum to write my words and thoughts on a daily basis.

I am grateful to have notebooks and pens to write with each morning.

I am grateful to always have more than enough money.

I am grateful for all my family and friends.

I am grateful that these thoughts of gratitude are not in any particular order.

I am grateful for my favourite season.

I am grateful to have the best daughter on the planet.

I am grateful to have the best son-in-law on the planet.

I am grateful to have grand-puppies.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I am so grateful to all of you for reading my blog and being my inspiration for continuing to write.

Thank you.

I hope that you all have a crazy wonderful day.

Special Hello to:  anyone who is not feeling well ……. we send you good healing energy ….. to feel better.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Wednesday Morning …..

Remember what I blogged yesterday…..

Well I guess it is now a part of our morning routine….

Alvin sitting on his Momma’s lap.

He fidgeted about until he found a relatively comfortable way to sit.

He actually turned around, and rested his head on my right arm which works for my writing ( I am left-handed).

I sit sideways on the chair and rest one foot up on the chair to the right.

Can you visualize this?  LOL.

Of course he is a bit too big for my lap but that has not stopped him.

But you know what?

I love that he wants to sit on my lap.

I will never know what his reasons are ….

But I know that I am tickled pink that he wants to snuggle with his Mom.

To be loved is a great deal and I know that he loves me.

I wish that you all are LOVED so greatly, and of course, I hope that firstly you LOVE YOU.

Have a great day.

Special Hello:  Ingrid (my friend who lives in Sweden), all of my nieces and nephews, my friends near and far ….. and my dear cousin Janice…  🙂

Always, Carol
