Last Half 2022 – November

Good Morning ALL! How are you this morning? I am more relaxed this morning than yesterday and had a bit more sleep than the previous night. I reached out to one of my friends and to my daughter and both did not reach the same conclusions that I had about the piece of something that I found on my kitchen floor. So I am going with their conclusions and am resting a bit easy.

Another cold morning and it is snowing. I am going to the office today and our neighbour will come and check on Mr. Alvin. Would be nice when the temperatures were cold that we could just stay home. But not the case. Oh well. Snuggling with Alvin is much more appealing than going outside.

Two more days and I start the Christmas baking. Getting prepared and a schedule worked out in my mind. I will start on Friday night and have done early on Monday. The list of items contains Sugar Cookies, Fudge and Chocolate Chip Cookies. I also picked up ready made tart shells and a jar of mincemeat to make some tarts. Not really baking as the work is already done but I am making them for us for Christmas. I may make Raisin Cookies should time allow. But definitely the first three items will be done this weekend. There is also organizing of all my storage containers for the cookies as I will need to freeze them for a bit before handing them out to friends and neighbours. Some are required for different Christmas parties and for Christmas time. I am excited. Will be busy but fun.

Can you believe that tomorrow is December 1st, 2022! Where has the time gone. Soon we shall be in the countdown to Christmas Eve / Day and the New Year. 2023 that is just unbelievable.

Well I suppose I should head back downstairs. I need to go outside and pick up the poop from earlier. Finishing touches on things to take to work. Snuggles with Mr. Alvin. That is the most important thing that I need to do between now and when my ride arrives.

I hope that you have an awesome day. Keep warm and stay safe.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities and coffee.

I am looking forward to coffee this morning. Thinking that I should make my own and take to work.

Always, Carol & Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR.

Yes, here we are at the 22nd day of the New Year on this Wednesday.

I just realized this morning that living with Alvin is the longest time that I have lived with a guy, a male.

We just celebrated our 10th Anniversary together.

I have found no matter whether you are canine or human; all relationships require work, consideration and patience.

Respect and love fall into every relationship.

Happy 10th Anniversary Mr. Alvin ….. I love you buddy.

We so enjoyed our second regular walk last night.

We also stopped by to see Abi’s Mom.

Abi passed one week ago today.

We will miss that little beagle … she was so beautiful and kind.

Last night on a newscast from the United States it was reported that China is banning ALL single use plastics by the end of 2020.

They also are refusing to take the recycled materials that the United States currently ships to them.

I am thinking if one of the highest populated countries on the planet can make this statement and do this; why can’t we?

We need to work quickly on this issue.

Plastics are filling our oceans and soon will fill us as they are marine life.

Then it is only a matter of time.

Life cannot survive filled with pieces of plastics and microplastics.

This morning at 3:00 …. the air was warm.

At 5:00 a.m. the air was warm and it was snowing.

Now we have quite the snow accumulation.

Well I am running late.

How did that happen?

I just had to have that extra of 30 minutes on the sofa snuggling with Alvin.

Oh, well I would not change a thing.

Wishing you a great day.

Be safe and warm.

Treating yourself and all others with KINDNESS and RESPECT.

Happy Wednesday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 12th day of December, 2018.

The weather forecast is for plus temperatures for the next week.

Hopefully the ice will melt and dry up.

Hard to believe it is December.

But perhaps not.

Maybe this is our new norm.

If there is such a thing.

We have had a huge amount of snow followed by some cold weather interrupted by mild temperatures.

Well this morning I am running late.

I cut one finger on my right hand a couple of days ago while fixing supper.

Not serious enough for stitches but enough to keep bandaged while it heals.

Of course, I wash my hands a billion times each day and am going through the bandaids, like crazy.

Perhaps I should have thought to have picked up some “liquid bandaid.”

Now that would have been a great idea.

Also my fingertips are cracking.

Tis the season.

The air is somewhat dry.

So even though it is quite painful, it is more that they are tender making some of the easiest tasks, a pain.

I cannot wear bandaids on each finger or I would not be able to work.

I am on the computer all day plus handling lots of paper.

Anyway, I am slower this morning than usual.

So not great stories or words of wisdom for this Wednesday.

I hope that you are all well.

Keep your hands and feet moisturized.

I try.

Wishing you an awesome Wednesday.

It is a great day.

My day is always off to a GREAT start when Mr. Alvin lays his head beside mine when we snooze on the sofa.

Oh, I love the little guy.

Hopefully it will be good for walking tonight.

Wished that I had some pea sized gravel for the front sidewalks.

Just putting it out there.

Okay, time to go.

Special Hello to: all those folks who are a bit stressed between work and the holidays.  It has been crazy as our office is temporarily locating to an office down the street from our current location.

The office is being moved in stages.  We go next week.  In the meantime, it has been semi organized chaos.  We are busy on top of it all.  Our current building is being renovated.  That will be great.

Always, Carol & Alvin
