Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 24th day of March, 2016.

This is my last day to work before the long weekend.

We are very lucky to have the next four days off from work.

What a wonderful break.

I believe that even Mother Nature is going to work with us for beautiful weather being warm and sunny.

The house is so very quiet this morning with my boy away at his sister’s.

I spoke to her last night and Alvin has settled in at her house.

She said he seems to be less stressed.

He does not like car rides and is adjusting to their new house.

He is not so much for change.

I can identify but sometimes it is a must.

So I am pleased that he is feeling better about his visit.

Whew.

Still seemed odd not to have him snuggled up beside me in bed.

He likes to cuddle which is nice.

I am not complaining as it is good for him to spend time with his sister and her family.

I am happy that we live close enough for visits.

This morning at work we have a Easter Hunt …… chocolate bunnies are hidden for us to find.

It is a nice way to start the day ……

CHOCOLATE.

Mmm, I hope that I find one.

In addition to the ones that are hidden we each have an EGG somewhere at our workspace and it is jammed packed with small delightful treats.

A win, win all round.

Well it is almost time for this cookie to put the finishing touches on before heading out to work.

I wish you a wonderful Thursday.

Whatever you do and wherever you go may the sun shine on you and may a happy song play in your heart.

Happy Thursday Everyone!

Special Hello to: my sister ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday morning the 20th day of May, 2015.

The sun is shining at 5:50 a.m. here in Edmonton and has been up for a bit.

It is so nice to have lightness out when I arise from bed at 5:00 a.m.

I love this time of morning before the day gets loud and busy.

I love snuggling with Mr. Alvin on my lap as I write in my gratitude journal at 5:00 a.m. just after he has had his breakfast.

I love the SUNSHINE.

I love that the temperature is much warmer this morning.

I love that the temperature inside the house was 69 this morning without the thermostat on.

I love that I am me.

What do you love?

Take a couple of minutes and write down some of the things that you love.

Write down the first ones that pop into your head.

Just be in the moment.

If you do not have pen and paper just think list them in your mind.

My list could / would go on forever.

I love my daughter and son-in-law and grand-puppies.

I love the dew on the grass in the morning.

I love birds singing.

I love green grass.

Guaranteed you will be smiling and feel a million times better when you think about what you love.

I am so grateful this morning that Mr. Alvin is feeling better.

His Doctor said sometimes they get “bugs” …… too ( not the ones that fly around like a bee or fly ).

Have an awesome day ……

Life just gets better and better.

YAY, I have some extra time to snuggle with Mr. Alvin before I leave for work.

Always a great way to start the day ….

Happy Wednesday Everyone.

Special Hello to:  Hello family …… we miss you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 11th day of May, 2015.

Beautiful morning after a beautiful day.

So great to see the sky beginning to lighten as me and Alvin arise at 5:00 a.m.

Alvin and I now have a routine, I would say.

Routine are good most especially for pets.

During the week we keep pretty much to a regular schedule.

Do you have a schedule or is every day different?

I am lucky because I have one job now, same hours every day. Upon arriving at home it is let Alvin outside, feed Alvin and then get changed, go for a walk, and then have supper.  Most evenings just do bit of tidying up and anything that requires immediate attention, and other than that we relax on the sofa.  By relax I mean watch a bit of television.  Sometimes I just get lost in the moment gazing out the living room while snuggling with Alvin.

Most of us working folk only have a few waking hours at home during the week.

It is crazy how many hours we spend away from home, at work ….

To have a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and to pay the bills.

I like to get to bed during the week at the same time.

I tend to leave the big jobs for the weekend.

Now that the lawn requires attention I would rake it and water it during the week of course.

Perhaps leave the mowing for the weekend.

We all do what works best for us.

You never know what the day will bring.

I am hoping for a quiet day that I can accomplish everything on my TO DO LIST (at work).

Well here it is almost time to leave and looking out the office window I can see the sunrise ….

It is going to be a glorious day ….. the sky is clear with a slight breeze.

I do kind of enjoy the bus ride to work …. mainly because I get on one bus and go all the way to work.

Sometimes in the evening it takes three buses to get home if you miss that one.

Oh well, life is pretty great on this end.

I hope that you all had a great Mother’s Day ….

I was absolutely spoiled ….. huge ( BIG ) bouquet of roses, gerber daisies, carnations, hydrangeas,  and several other flowers who names elude me at 6:00 a.m. …… the most beautiful card, and the company first and foremost of my daughter and grand-puppies.

We even went out for a bit to run some errands and I picked up one of Mike Dooley’s book (started to read last night), some wooden spoons, couple of cool place mats for the kitchen table and some groceries and a pot of flowers for the deck.

WHAT a great day.

Still excited ……

Okay gotta go ….. have a great Monday.

Clear skies ahead.

Special Hello to: all my friends and family ……

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 1st day of May, 2015.

Well I was off to a great start this morning.

As I was writing the first line in my gratitude journal about 5:00 a.m. …..

I wrote “I cannot believe that today is the first day of Easter”

I looked at the words and then started to giggle.

Really, no idea where that came from but it was funny.

What a great way to start a Friday.

Laughing.

Laughing at oneself, no less.

I know that today is going to be great.

Alvin likely thought his Momma had lost her senses.

On top of being the first day of May and one month closer to summer ….. I noticed that it was starting to get light out at 5:30 instead of 6:00 a.m.

Note to self: remember to flip all of my “paper” calendars to May.

They are forecasting some rain and that would be so nice.

Oh, I must share a few of the most wonderful things that happened to me on my first day back to work from being sick:

– a co-worker had written me a hand-made thank you card in appreciation of “me” and two home baked cookies

-another co-worker had returned all of my phone calls from the past couple of days

-others showed appreciation by making sure that I was okay

-others took on a few tasks to help me out

-my daughter picked up a jean jacket from a swap that they are having at her work (she is always thinking of her Momma)

-after work while waiting for the bus I noticed a gal that usually catches the bus with me and who lives in the same neighbourhood …. she waited for a couple of lights to come over and ask me if I wanted a ride home.  She had driven to work.  So thoughtful considering she had to walk the total opposite way to her car.

WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY ….. it was so wonderful.

It is the little things that make a person glad to be alive.

I wish you only grand “little things” today to make you feel as great as I did yesterday.

Have a great Friday.

Gotta go.

Time to catch the bus and of course, snuggle for a couple of minutes with me Alvin.

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 3rd day of August, 2014.

Oh  to wake up with three puppies in my bed.

Alvin snuggling near me on the right side …… Elton by my right leg and Miss Penny on my left side.

This was the first sleepover (now they live here) where Miss Penny actually wanted to sleep beside me.

Very odd ….. she usually sleeps as far away as possible …. not because she doesn’t love her Grandma ….. just a Penny thing.

But after the 5:30 wake up call ( time to eat and pee ) …… we snuggled for a couple of hours on the sofa.

That is where Mr. Elton wanted to get snuggled right in ….. in fact he was hanging partially in mid air wrapped in the blanket with my arm around him.

Surprisingly enough it was quite comfortable for both of us.

Alvin jumped up and got behind my legs and put his head up on my legs from time to time.

Miss Penny just laid on the biggest section ( I have one of the sofas that has the lounge part at one end, which is so handy when you have puppies ).

Well time to take Alvin for a walk as Elton and Penny had one yesterday morning and have to be fair.

Will take them all tonight.

So happy that I got the kitchen all cleaned up from top to bottom (well I still have to wash the floor) ….. yikes.

Cupboards rearranged, fridge and pantry …. and drawers.

So happy to be on vacation as I get ready to work at the store……

Well better get my act together as I want to take Alvin for a walk before it gets hot and I have to leave.

YAY, there is a bit of a breeze now.

Special Hello to: my family ……. have to call them this week.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 8th day of April, 2014.

It is a beautiful day here in Edmonton and the sky has already began to lighten as the sun prepares to rise.

I am so happy – elated to have Alvin back home.

It was his snuggling next to me in the deep dark of the night that I miss the most.

Well his personality, too.

He shines his light on me always and I am so grateful that he came into my life.

It was one of those unexpected happenings that turns into something extraordinary.

I am so blessed.

He is mine and I am his.

Ever intertwined.

I know now how those blessed humans feel to have a four-legged friend enchant their lives and make them both feel so wonderful.

Recently a friend of mine lost her dear friend – he passed away quickly and peacefully (which I am so thankful for) and will always be remembered by all who knew him.

My only wish is that for each and every true pairing of a dog and human or a cat and human that all of the remaining dogs and cats and other animals could soon find that loving experience.

May you know the love in your heart.

May you share that love.

I hope that you have a wonderful day.

Special Hello to: all the animals on the planet …..

Always, Carol and Alvin
