Second Half of the NEW YEAR – last quarter

Good Morning ALL. I guess that I have needed the sleep. Again, up at 4:15 a.m. and then Mr. Alvin wanted to go outside about 7:30 and then up lost to 9:00 a.m. I feel rested though so I guess I should not feel guilty for sleeping in. Why is it that we feel guilty when we do things that are a bit out of our everyday? Oh well, not this day. Not this day. The sun is rising which is beautiful and nice to see. During the week it is dark when we rise and dark when I start work and then the sun rises. I am in love with the colours of the sky during sunrise. It is worth paying attention to ….. the palette is amazing. Every morning is slightly different.

Yesterday I had a busy day. Laundry, cleaning, moving and reorganizing the kitchen (workspace), washing main floor, cleaning bathrooms and such. A good produce day. I even almost finished my Christmas Project – just a few finishing touches and then wrapping. I will start wrapping the rest of the gifts that I have soon over the next couple of weeks. Last night I was going over the list in my head to see if I had something for everyone. Getting close. Still have Alvin, Aspen, Milo, Humphrey, Bogart, Teddy and Kobi and I should get a little something for Bailey as well. Six gifts for puppies and two for kitties. Looks like I had better take a walk over to THE BONE & BISCUIT and pick up some things. Oh and a couple of stocking stuffers for my daughter and son-in-law and we are done. YAY, Me and Alvin. I am excited for next weekend when the massive baking spree takes place over the course of a few days. I am also hosting another FIFTH AVENUE JEWELRY PARTY for my friend who is a jeweler for them. Now with doing everyone online there are no more phone calls or texts or emails to invite people ….. they receive an invite from FB. That all happens tomorrow. Next weekend will be super busy ….. baking and LIVES for the jewelry “party” on Friday @ 7 p.m., then on Saturday it will be 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. and then finally on Sunday @ 3 p.m. I will be one busy Momma, thankfully I booked Monday, December 7th off as a day of vacation. Just realized that I will have to run and stock up on Mr. Alvin’s food and things as it is after payday. Lots to do. I will say back to the jewelry that I do like the online LIVES. Just kick back with a cup of tea or coffee and watch away. I think you really do get to see more pieces up close and personal. In person, one tends to glance at everything but only see the ones that “catch your eye.” So this will be great. It is my second one actually. Tomorrow I will be busy inviting during my breaks at work and after work.

Yesterday Alvin and I had a nice outside “sidewalk” – “front porch” visit with Alison and Bailey who is now six months. I cannot believe how big she is now and is all legs. She has way longer legs than Mr. Alvin. At one point Alison had to go into the house and grab a blanket for Mr. Alvin as we, Alvin and I ended up sitting on the steps (actually on the landing) and Alvin was getting cold despite his warm sweater. I think his legs and paws were chilly. So that helped and we were able to visit for almost one hour. The temperature was pretty good. It was nice to see them. Alison works at a nearby hospital so visiting in the house these days is not an option. She is extremely cautious when visiting anyone. She only recently was able to hug her Dad & Mom since February as she was able to use/have the gear from the hospital. I was both sad and happy that it has been so long for her. These days it is all about who is in your “bubble” and keeping safe for yourself and others. For all those families who will not be together for Christmas this year, I understand how you must be missing your family but at the end of the day ….. better to have our families alive and well than not. Please let us continue to be courageous and strong in this time of chaos and uncertainty. We will get through this if we work together. I am so glad that I was able to have a nice visit with Alison and chat. It was good for us both. Always nice to see our friends. Thank goodness that our weather is mild at this time and we can meet outside. I suggested my garage next time as we can social distance and have shelter even though it is not heated. We can always bring blankets out and keep the pups warm.

Yesterday I had got this photo of my daughter and me in my head. Do you think that I could find it? No. I looked through every photo box and everywhere. Not sure where it went. Isn’t it funny when you remember something and then go to look for it and cannot locate it. I guess photos are funny like that. I will find it. I am certain at some point. Perhaps a second look through the photo boxes but that takes time. So not today. Time to hop into the shower and get freshened up. I have another tea order to submit today and we are going to see Alvin’s bestie Teddy and family. Alvin is going to have an energy healing. Yes, on the social distancing and I will take one of my masks.

Happy Sunday Everyone. We must continue to rise up and live our lives with kindness, respect and compassion for all. This will be what we will be remembered for ….. that is my hope.

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning,

Well I guess that I did not make an error this is the new format for WordPress.

It will take a few posts before I get this down for sure.

I found out where the categories was so that it won’t come up as miscellaneous.

Now if I can just figure out spacing and such.

Today is the big day.

The wedding of my neighbours. I am so excited that I did not sleep much last night and in fact, just arising now. I have a couple of hours to have some breakfast and coffee before I have to start getting ready.

My daughter is coming at 11:30 or so and we have to leave the house by 12:30 as it is out of town. The TEA CEREMONY begins at 2:00 p.m. followed by the WEDDING CEREMONY, then while the happy couple are having photos taken, the guests enjoy refreshments and take in the beauty of the countryside and the retreat facility before enjoying supper provided by a secret food truck. Oh, and everything is outside providing that the weather remains nice. Forecast is for 20+ celsius today.

I am really looking forward to this time. The only part that is a bit unnerving is the mask wearing as I only know the bride and the groom. I have met her Father only. But I am okay not knowing people and generally have an easy time meeting new people. I guess time will tell. More the mask thing and social distancing at a wedding. The amount of guests is not huge. Time will tell, I did say that already.

Then the next thing is what to wear and what shoes to wear and which purse to take. Okay I am definitely rambling. I picked out the navy dress that my kids gave me for my birthday (it is nice but not fancy), topped with a coral mid sleeve cardigan and a scarf that has a mix of navy, blues, coral and white shades. The shoe I had picked out some sandals that had covered toes but I have not really wore them in years and will they be comfortable to wear for that length of time or should I wear a more summery sandal that I know will be comfortable but as soon as the sun begins to drift downward it will get cold. The jewelry aspect is the only part that I really know what to wear. I have so many beautiful pieces that I want to wear and need to wear, especially as I am actually going out. So you see my dilemma although it is not life threatening it is driving me a bit off the deep end. PURSE, another problem. Has to be big enough to put my phone/camera, battery charger cord thing, my zip bag with an extra mask (I will be wearing one), ID, kleenex, some lip balm, and whatever else I feel that I may require. I am so used to being at home and having everything at my beck, this is an unique situation for me at this time.

Okay, enough of that. I will have my daughter here when I am getting ready and she will give me direction in the clothing / shoe / purse areas. No need to worry.

Time to head on downstairs and have some toast, a banana and some much needed COFFEE.

Oh, I hear sirens close by. Oh dear.

Tomorrow my boy comes home from visiting at his sister’s since a week ago today. We were chatting on the phone last night and she put us on facetime, I would say that he has forgotten me but then I think he was just confused. I know that he will be happy to be home but I am grateful that he is doing well at their home. The week has gone by quickly. Definitely did not get much of what I was thinking of doing this week but that is okay. It is not as though Alvin keeps me from doing things. He is a great companion and I love him dearly.

Okay, time to go.

Take Care and Be Safe. Treat all others with Kindness and RESPECT. It is so important now more than ever.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and it is Tuesday, September 8th, 2020.

Happy Birthday to all those folks born on this day.

I am grateful that I remain able to work from home.

Yesterday I turned on the heat.

Both Alvin and I are just too old to be cold.

Well more the reason was that Mr. Alvin was shivering in his new haircut.

Guess what I spent a few hours yesterday afternoon deleting emails and went from 2020 to 2011.

I filed the ones that I wanted to keep into folders.

Made some new folders along the way and deleted others.

Felt so good.

I have so idea how many I deleted (forgot to check the numbers).

Also worked on my book …..

Did you start the FALL CLEANUP 2020?

Come on, you can do it?

I know that you can.

Start small and build.

Also finished the laundry, switched our bedroom back to the usual way as the other way blocked the heat registers.

So it was a busy productive day despite our late start.

We had a off and on day yesterday weatherwise.

Sun would shine brightly and then a massive deep dark cloud would roll in and it would RAIN.

We even had pea sized hail twice.

Luckily my flowers and plants seemed to have survived without being moved.

The hail came on quickly.

I guess I should have thought of it as it would get warm and then cool fast.

Oh well, it is September 8th.

My sister texted that Calgary got snow yesterday and it was in the single digit minus temperatures in Regina last night.

I was not the only one that turned on the heat.

This week is supposed to be not bad, I think that I even saw one day at 24 degrees celsius.

Time will tell.

Well this is going to be a short post this morning.

I really need coffee.

Funny how some “Sunday” nights – yes, I know it was Monday but felt like a Sunday night as I could not go to sleep.

We were up at three, Alvin had to go pee, the joys of being older.

Then up at 5:00 for breakfast and then up at 6:30 to stay up.

I am so grateful that we had a great long weekend.

Productive for the most part …. time for relaxation ….. time with our girl ….

Life is great.

Well time for coffee and to get this work day started.

I hope that you are in good health.

I hope that you are keeping safe.

I hope that you wear a mask in public.

Limit your time in public whenever you are able.

Wash your hands often.

Social Distance.

Life is too precious not to follow the rules.

It does not guarantee 100% that you will not contract the virus but certainly ups your chances considerably.

Be safe my friends, be safe.

Take Care.

Happy Tuesday.

Remember to smile.

Perhaps another challenge.

For 5 minutes each day …. just smile.

Eventually it will become a thing !!

Living with Kindness and Respect.

Learning to be more patient.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR

Good Morning,

Wow did we ever sleep in this morning.

We went to bed in good time and I read for a bit but could not settle down.

Not too long after we hit the hay it did begin to rain.

I am not sure what time I finally drifted off to sleep but then Alvin was stirring and we were up.

That was almost 4:30 a.m.

So he ate his breakfast and had his glucosamine chew and went outside.

Then back into the house …… I know we woke up again at 8:00 but I just could not get my butt off the sofa…. next time it was 9:39 a.m.

WOW, latest that we have slept.

The sun was shining bright at 8:00 a.m. but the sky has now clouded over and the wind is getting up.

I also realized that although the food is very tasty with the Good Food package ….. there is a lot of “pan frying.”

Also I had not chosen the meats and am not used to eating much pork.  If I do eat meat it is chicken.

Mostly I eat a vegetarian diet with a bit of chicken.

So my tummy was just a bit upset at bedtime as well.

I have one more meal to cook tonight and I think it is pork meatballs which I am going to bake in the oven.

Will increase the cook time but I can do not another “pan fry” meal.

There was a rice dish and coleslaw with the pork chops last night and corn on the cob.

I definitely had learned a few different cooking methods.

I have found that I am a pretty plain cook.

Using spices for sure.

I guess long weekends are for sleeping in…..

We did accomplish several things from our TO DO LIST.

Outside I can hear the geese honking as they fly overhead.

Today.

Yesterday, we were so happy to have our girl here for a good chunk of the day.

We had pancakes for “brunch.”

Then we girls gave Mr. Alvin a haircut and I gave him a bath.

Following she asked if I would like to go to GOODWILL and check things out.

We have a fairly new one about a 10 or so minute drive away so I thought why not.

This was my fifth, yes 5th time out in public since March 19th, 2020.

So basically once per month if you spread them over the time since I have been at home.

But actually five times since August.

I will say that people were wearing masks but the social distancing and following arrows in the store.

Not so much.

Every few minutes an announcement would be made to please keep 2 metres apart and follow the arrows.

No one listened.

I am pretty sure that only my daughter and me were actually paying attention.

Sunday afternoons are not a good time to go checking out GOODWILL.

Not at all.

I was checking out some tealights from Partylite and commenting to my daughter on what a great deal for those who burn candles.

They were new ( I checked to make sure ) and a box of tealights was $5.50 and the price from Partylite would be over $15.00 now for sure.

Anyway this girl was right beside me …. as I was going through them.

She did not give me a chance to finish.

I was not happy.

If there is one thing that I cannot stand is people that do not listen to the rules especially in the middle of a pandemic.

I was thinking sure okay you have a mask on but you are not even six inches away from me ….

So I moved.

Rude people.

We kept away and followed the rules.

Some of the older children that were accompanying their parents had their masks slipped down not covering their faces.

I can only imagine what school will be like.

Unfortunately I have a bad feeling about this fall once all the children have been back in school for about a week or two.

Even though there was some difficult moments or lots of them in the store ….. I thoroughly enjoyed the time with my girl.

We found some great things and then had good choices on what to actually buy.

I bought one package of tealights …. cranberry to burn at Christmas.

I love the cranberry scent.

The other was found at the last minute and it was a Kitchenaid roasting pan with a rack in the bottom.

No lid but had good handles.

It was brand new or looked to be new.

Definitely not used.

I figured that I could use it from time to time.

I use my Princess House Lasagne pan to cook the turkey at Christmas so this would be better.

It was a good price so I decided it was a good find.

Well I guess I should get this show on the road.

Yesterday at this time we were out for a walk.

Thinking we will not be walking now ….. maybe later.

Oh, goodness my stomach is making horrible sounds.

I have to take it easy on what I put into it.

Definitely toast for breakfast.

Definitely I will be baking the meatballs tonight.

This afternoon I want to continue on my quest to delete emails and photos, more photos than emails at this point.

Also I am going to work on my book this afternoon.

But before we get to that point ….. get dressed, bring up the laundry that was air drying, make coffee and have breakfast.

I have a couple of loads of laundry left to do.

So will do them as well.

I hope that you had a great weekend thus far.

Perhaps you are as blessed as I am and are able have an extra day off.

Take Care.

Remember when you are out and about …..

Wear the mask…..

Keep your distance……

We are not given these instructions for no reason……

If we want to keep lessen the COVID19 cases …. this is what we have to do.

Also sanitize your hands when going into stores and coming out.

Wash your hands when you come home.

Wash your hands at home.

Wash your hands before you handle food.

Wash your hands before you eat.

Enjoy your life.

Well Mr. Alvin is giving me that look and I see it is already 10:15 a.m.

I need some coffee.

Perhaps I will make that first.

Take Care.

Be safe.

Living with Kindness and respect….

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Wow, can you believe it …. September 1st, 2020 today.

Happy to see the sun shining but there is a breeze once again.

Crazy to think that we are entering the ninth month of the year.

This has been such a year of unimaginable events, tragedy and change.

Who would have thought back in January or February that come September we would have spent the majority of the year working from home.

I have wished and hoped for a very long time that I would be able to work from home.

But never in a million billion years did I think that I would be doing this job from home.

Never, ever.

For that I am truly grateful.

Thank you Universe.

While a good portion of the working population were able to work from home many others were laid off.

Businesses closed their doors never to reopen.

Some people had to work despite the dangers to their health and wellbeing.

Those are the people who work in hospitals, fire and police, grocery stores and pharmacies, plumbers, electricians and HVAC.

Businesses that were/are deemed essential services.

It has been a long road for them with no real end in sight.

Schools closed down and children stayed at home with some doing online studies.

Many people worldwide have lost their lives to this pandemic.

Our lives may never be the same.

While schools are beginning to reopen and some folks are heading back to work; it is different.

We will be wearing masks when in public.

We will continue to wash our hands frequently and sanitize our work stations, doors, handles of cupboards etc and our hands and perhaps most importantly social distance.

I think that is most important.

So many people are ordering everyday goods online that we are seeing more and more delivery services in our neighbourhoods.

Some businesses are running out of products or the processes have slowed down.

I know that both the NORWEX and Steeped Tea products that I have ordered did not take the usual week to be delivered.

Anywhere between 2-6 weeks for delivery is the norm unless you have ordered groceries or from Amazon.

Our lives have changed and I think forever.

We will look at how we do things much differently than we did in 2019.

Going forward I think that we will make much better decisions than we did in the past.

Or at least I hope so.

Well it is now time to head downstairs, grab my coffee and get signed onto the computer for work.

I have so much to do and hopefully will have an extra productive day.

I wish you a great day.

Be safe and take care.

Be kind and respectful.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning.

Today is Monday, August 17, 2020.

First day back to work after two weeks of vacation.

Alvin is wondering what the heck is going on.

Once I have finished this post – it will be out for our walk as we are going to have another day in the 30’s.

Too hot at lunch and at 4 p.m. to be out walking with a fur coat on.

We had a great weekend ending with the birthday party at my friend’s home for her Mother.

There were great snacks including fruit.

My friend made her Mom’s birthday cake and it was delicious.

Also yesterday was my friend from Regina’s 60th Birthday and I was lucky enough to have a chat with her on the phone on her big day.

Seems like so long ago that I turned 60 but alas it is not as I was 63 this year.

Also this past weekend I was the HOST for a Fifth Avenue Jewelry party.

This time not in person but on-line.

My friend who is a Jeweler with Fifth Avenue Jewelry out of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan did four live “shows.”

We had a good turn out to view the jewelry.

I like doing the shows “live” on Facebook ….. had an opportunity to view 30+ pieces of jewelry each segment.

So it was great.

Well Alvin and I had a great vacation.

Hard to believe it is over for another summer.

Missing from our August 2020 vacation this year was a visit from my sister and our annual siblings trip to see our brother AND girls road trip with my daughter.

I did miss seeing my sister and brothers and also taking a short trip with my daughter.

Hopefully next summer we will be able to travel more easily.

If everyone wears a mask in public, cleans their hands often and does the social distancing – perhaps this will be possible next summer.

Well it is almost 7:00 a.m. and time for us to head out for a walk before starting work.

I hope that you have an awesome day.

May you be shown kindness and respect by all others, and in turn show kindness and respect to all others.

What goes around – comes around.

Keep safe and cool.

Enjoy the summer days remaining.

I am excited for FALL.

My favorite season.

Living my life with kindness and respect.

Learning new things everyday.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Welcome to Thursday, July 23, 2020.

Wow, not many days left in July 2020.

The time just seems to zip by.

We had rain earlier and was raining when we were up at 4:30.

I did not hear any thunder but then again, I had the electric fan running most of the night.

Slept in our bed last night and we both were awake at 4:30, thankfully did not stay up.

Makes for an early night if up that early.

Although if it had not been raining the sun would have been coming up.

It is muggy in the office this morning even with the windows open.

Looks like more rain.

So how are we all doing at almost the end of 5 months since this COVID19 virus became so much on our radar.

Perhaps on some more so than others.

With every country on the planet affected by COVID19 which I believe is the majority at this point; every different leader and government has taken a different approach.

Some were fast to shut down out of country air travel.

Others were not.

There were countries that took very cautious approaches and with diligence they were able to lower the amount of cases and deaths.

While others just seemed to stand by and hope for the best.

No one knows at this point the real numbers because they are only as good as they are reported.

Also I read some place that countries were initially treating any deaths as COVID19 and not doing any autopsies.

That is scary but sort of understandable in a way.

Anyway, if we all listen to our government health officials we can make a difference.

In public wear a mask.

Wash your hands often.

Social Distancing.

Just be careful.

To be honest since I came home to work on March 19, 2020 – the most people at one time that I have been around other than me is 3.

So any numbers larger than that …. honestly kind of freak me out.

I know that this is because I have not been out to the grocery stores and in public.

So this is something that I will have to get used to and be prepared with.

Food for thought.

If we do not work together …. we fall apart.

Well time to head to work.

Alvin is doing much better, thankfully.

I think the second set of medication has made a huge difference.

Time will tell when that medication has all been taken.

I hope that you are safe and in good health.

Living with kindness and respect.

I/We, shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Sunday Morning.

We are still in the throes of gas and diarrhea in our household.

Mr. Alvin was on the way to recovery or so I thought but that was not quite the case.

I guess I got my hopes up too soon.

Yesterday he did not poop one way or the other all day long.

Humphrey spent the day with us and I took him home last night before bed.

This morning we have been up and down since about 4:10 a.m.

After Alvin had an early morning chicken and rice breakfast – it was back to diarrhea again.

Not a lot but not the other direction.

He has been up and down but no bum action other than gas.

It is always amazes me as to how it startles him.

He can be sitting in his chair or laying down somewhere and all of a sudden I can smell “GAS” and he jumps.

Poor baby.

So not sure what today will bring.

Sounds like he may have to go outside.

I will be back.

Okay we are back.

Only had to pee.

That he does on a regular basis.

What a weekend this is turning out to be.

Interesting for sure.

Yesterday was quiet, putzed in the garden, did some laundry, did some free hand water colouring painting.

By free hand I mean did not follow any instructions.

I just wanted to see what I could do.

Giving me some ideas for future works.

In about one hour I will go and get Humphrey.

Clean out his litter box.

Fill his food dish.

Give him fresh water.

Then look after Cynder.

Giver her some fresh water and spray the leaves.

She is a gekko and has special food times.

I guess this weekend is all about poo.

How wonderful.

Will it be or won’t it be.

I guess we all have those times in our lives ….

Where poo is a big deal.

When children are little.

When they are big.

When we are older.

Unfortunately how our poop is whether we are human or a puppy, is huge.

It tells us whether we are in good health or not.

Whether we have a bug or not.

So much information that comes out of our bottom ends.

Well on that note, I shall go.

I have a few things to do before going to Humphrey’s house.

Likely in between there will be a few trips outside.

Please keep sending positive thoughts to our Mr. Alvin.

The poor boy.

When we were up at 4:10 a.m. the sky was already beginning to lighten.

There were a few stars in the clear early morning sky.

By the next time we were up, the sun was rising.

Followed by bright blue sky and sunshine.

Now there is a breeze and some clouds have rolled in.

This happened yesterday.

It was nice with the clouds from time to time as it gave some relief from the warmth.

No complaints about that …. clouds or warmth.

This is mid May and we are longing for the days of summer.

So close.

I hope that you are enjoying your weekend.

Keeping the social distancing.

Washing your hands often.

Being mindful of others and yourself.

It is only through taking precautions and being careful and listening to the health professionals that we will make it to the other side of this pandemic.

There will always be something that comes along but we have to listen.

I know that sometimes it may seen annoying and unrealistic but in the end it is necessary.

Take care, stay healthy.

With kindness and respect for all.

I/We Remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Monday Morning,

Happy Birthday to my friend who has always been like an older sister, L.

We are wishing you a day of full of sweet surprises and perhaps even a delectable birthday cake.

Well folks it is raining here in Edmonton.

The rain is washing the earth nicely.

Along with the earth, plants and trees; I noticed that the neighbours across the street are going to be needing to paint their fence, shortly.

Likely the paint was peeling but now it is noticeable.

It will be time to paint my fence but that will be next summer as this summer we are getting it fixed.

The fence that separates me and my neighbour in the duplex is leaning due to one of the posts.

Not the whole fence just a section.

But it gets a bit tricky as I have a deck on my side that is right up to and touching the fence and on the other side they have a raised garden up against the fence with

no retaining wall.

No one thought of it at the time.

The whole backyard is done in stone.

It really is beautiful.

So we have someone coming to check it out and give us an estimate.

It has to be fixed.

This young man is the grandson of my good friends down the street.

I will he will be honest and forthright.

He is popping by this afternoon to take a peek.

Hopefully it has stopped raining by then.

Oh, my backyard is nice and sopping wet.

Perhaps it is more wet under the grass that one may have first thought, meaning me.

Well we had a great weekend.

I chalked off everything on my list and it was a long one.

Thankfully everything outside got done and inside as well.

We had a great walk yesterday afternoon just as the rain began.

For some reason I could not shut off my thoughts last night so I tried to take as many extra zzz’s this morning as possible.

Running a bit late well not really late.

But I like to sign on to the work computer well before my actual start time.

I like to be early.

Just a thing about me.

I hope that you are doing well.

Doing the social distancing.

Not having massive crowds over for a visit.

Just having common sense so we get through this safe and to the other side.

Remember to rest and to hydrate.

Wash your hands often.

Have an awesome Monday.

Time for coffee.

Alvin is resting on his little bed.

With a deep respect and sending so much kindness your way,

I/We remain,

As always, Carol & Mr. Alvin

It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning ALL,

Wow, can you believe that it is April 30th, 2020.

Last day of April already.

Yesterday was an OVER the TOP FANTASTIC day for me and I will include Mr. Alvin in that declaration.

This is what happened:

  1. One of my girl friends picked up some light bulbs that I had been needing.
  2. My daughter and one of my grand-pups came for a visit, we did not hug and practiced social distancing and she wore a mask inside the house.  She also brought me lunch and a cold treat which I forgot to have for dessert last night.  My favorite “buster bars” from Dairy Queen.  She also gave me some “dilly bars.”  So great to see them and catch up in real time.
  3. EPCOR phoned and arrived just before 2:30 p.m.
  4. My friend the plumber arrived shortly thereafter.
  5. TAP fixed with only a couple of momentarily hiccups just after 4:00 p.m.
  6. Found out that my smoke detectors had expired (did not realize if they were hard-wired that they had to be replaced, but if one thinks about it, makes sense).  Check yours.
  7. Went for a walk with Alvin.
  8. Another friend down the street who is an electrician happened to be out walking with his youngest son  – so I asked him about the smoke detectors and replacing them.
  9. Our friend P and her grand pup Georgie were out working in her backyard and she invited us in for a visit.  Social distancing of course.  We stayed in the backyard.
  10. Happy to hear the sound of silence throughout the evening.
  11. My neighbour mowed the front lawn and I was so caught up with everything that I did not notice when we arrived home from our walk.
  12. Lovely evening …. just hanging out and watching episodes of “Love It or List It, Vancouver.”
  13. Perfection and a full day.
  14. I also worked in the morning.

What a incredible day.

I am over the moon happy to have the kitchen tap fixed.

Now I have a few more things to get repaired/replaced.

YAY.

It is the small things (and not to say that these are small things).

Does not have to be a luxury trip around the world.

Does not have to be a lotto win.

Having a tap fixed.

Lunch with your daughter and grandpup.

Chatting with a friend in her yard enjoying the early blooming spring flowers.

Having someone mow the lawn unexpectedly.

I am so blessed and so grateful.

Okay time to grab that coffee and do the poo pick up.

I wish you a world of small things.

Enjoy your Thursday.

With kindness and respect.

I/We remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin
