The New YEAR 2022

Good Morning ALL! How are you this morning? We are well and glad that it is the weekend. The sky is white this morning and there is a bit of a breeze. I sure hope that the sun shines today. I think the temperature is supposed to be warmer. Have not checked since late yesterday afternoon. Our weather changes in the blink of an eye. Mr. Alvin is resting in the hallway outside the office door, it seems to be one of his favourite places when I am in the office. He has a comfy bed on the office floor and then our bedroom is a few steps away so lots of choices for places for him to be. Depends on his mood.

I hope that you had a good week. It has been difficult not to think and worry about the people of Ukraine. It would be nice if Russia would just turn around and go home. I feel for the people of Ukraine. For the ones lost in a war that should not have happened. For those who left someone behind to fight in the war. For those who left home with virtually the clothes on their backs not knowing if they will ever be able to return home and if they do, will they have a home still standing? This is 2022 and war should be something we only read about in the history books, not something happening as I type these words.

Hoping and praying for peace and that the Russians just turn around and go home.

To all the Ukrainians living in Alberta, in Canada and all over the world, I hope that your family is safe.

No matter if you are Ukrainian or not, no one other than Putin wants this war.

I can smell my coffee which is waiting for me to take the first sip. It is time to say goodbye for this day.

Remembrance Day.

 

Today, Canadians and citizens worldwide remember their loved ones who paid the ultimate price of our freedoms with their lives.

Some of those brave souls came home after the war not whole; whether body or mind.

I say brave souls as it was not only the soldiers who gave up their lives but nurses, doctors, horses and dogs.

The loss of life, all life from the World Wars  I and II staggers the imagination.

Have we learned anything from WAR, I wholeheartedly say no.

 

Although I am not a proponent of fighting or war; I will say this that without our citizens leaving our country.

I am afraid the loss of life may have been higher.

I am proud that we as a country have filled the role of peacekeepers throughout the decades since these wars.

 

My wish is that someday soon we, the humans on this planet, shall learn to live peacefully.

That our differences will be our strengths.

That kindness and respect shall prevail.

That death due to wars of any size is a thing of the past.

 

Perhaps if we Remember …. their loss will not be in vain.

That war will be a memory of the past.

On this day, 35 years ago, a baby boy was born.

We were neighbours.

All these years later, I have and always will be known as Auntie Carol.

All these years later, he will always be known as my little boy.

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 10th day of November, 2015.

Remembering my brother today on what would have been his 52nd Birthday.

Happy Birthday dear one……

 

Tomorrow is Remembrance Day ….. this week is all about remembering.

Memories of loved ones.

Many of whom passed way before they even had a chance to live.

 

I think of all those young men and women who entering the military thinking of adventure and of serving their country.

Likely they did both although I am certain the adventure part was not what they had in mind.

So this week you are all in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

To their families who miss them every day of every year, you are also in my heart, thoughts and prayers.

Special Hello to: all those who gave their lives to keep us free.
