Living … One day at a time.

The sun is up.

The sky is blue.

I can hear the whir of traffic in the distance.

Alvin is sleeping on a blanket near me.

I feel refreshed after a nice shower.

Life is good on this Monday morning.

I think that it is safe to say that I love taking photos of Humphrey and the flowers and my backyard.

I do love to take photos of Mr. Alvin and Master Teddy.

Humphrey just seems to be so photogenic.

Always in the right place at the right time.

I am in awe of the purple flowers in the first photo.

Last year the plants were sparse and I think there may have been one flower all summer long.

This year, the plants seem to have spread and are so alive with beautiful pale purple flowers.

Flowers bring out the joy in me.

As to the fur-babies.

If you surround yourself with things that you love.

Life is good.

I filled six pots with flowers this year.

Two at the front and four at the back.

For the grand total of $25.18.

There has only been one spring/summer that I spent less.

Other years I have spent significantly more and although there were only double the amount of pots; this year feels like I have as many.

The plants in the back flower bed are doing crazy good.

The reddish purple shrub on the left side of the bed – is taller, fuller and brighter this year.

Perhaps it has been all of the rain as of late.

Speaking of Mr. Humphrey; I have to go as I have to run to his house and check on him before I leave for work.

Time flies when you are having fun.

Yesterday it was me, Alvin and Humphrey.

The boys relaxed in the house and also spent time outside.

They were my morale support as I cleaned my Humphrey’s Mom’s grass trimmer.

Well time now to go.

Happy Monday.

Take care, be kind and stay cool.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 22nd day of February, 2016.

This summer the air felt warm as I opened the back door for Mr. Alvin to go outside.

So odd for February but very welcome all the same.

I would like to share a poem I wrote twenty-six years ago…… as I think of spring and summer.

Walking to and through the Rain …

As I’m walking along,

Pace, brisk as I have set.

The rain softly falling,

from the sky a tranquil blue.

That yellow beacon peeping thru.

Birds are flying singing their songs.

I’m humming a song in my mind.

Humming and thinking of moments —

Times that were wonderful.

Hoping that I may see them once again.

The sun is covered by dark clouds.

Rain begins to fall with passion,

Hard and heavy.

Drops of rain bead upon my face,

As I hasten my pace toward home,

I’m soaked through but no matter,

Dry clothes await me.

Rounding the corner I’m almost home.

There I will be dry – still thinking of those treasured times.

Wishing you were here – with me.

Happy Monday Everyone …..

Always good to think back ….. I was listening to Adele earlier and she made me think of a past love.

Special Hello to: Birthday girls ….. just around the corner ….. there are three.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Wow, the sky is a beautiful “light” blue and the SUN is shining and it is Thursday, June 14th, 2012.

Almost at the midpoint in June.

It has been a great month with all the green grass, trees, flowers blooming and the ROSES.

OMG, the wild roses that line all of the neighbourhood walkways are the most glorious shade of PINK and the fragrance.

OMMG, the fragrance is like nothing else on this EARTH.

I absolutely love it.  Really over the moon, LOVE that smell.

When Alvin and I went for a walk last night as we drew near to the walkway the fragrance came out to greet us.

It was wonderful …. I was in heaven.

I wonder what Mr. Alvin thought when I walked over to one of the bushes and started smelling the roses.

I wished that I had a wild rose bush in my back yard.

Anyway, that is my thought for the day ….. something that comes back to life in the spring and brings so much pleasure to people … something that nature gives us, and it doesn’t cost a penny.  Something that we should ensure continues into the future.  The wild rose.  It is the most scent-full flower ( that I know ) and so beautiful.  So today take the time to check out all the wonderful treats that Mother Nature gives us throughout the spring and summer months.  We are truly spoiled.

I hope that you all have “wild roses” near you.

Special Hello to: all those people out there in the world that have read my blog, it means so much to me.  THANK YOU.

Always, Carol and Mr. Alvin …..
