Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 14th day of January, 2014.
Sure was windy last night with warm temperatures.
More snow yesterday.
I think we are well on our way to a record.
As I shovelled the driveway and the deck, I realized how narrow both are becoming as the space to put the snow is fast disappearing.
Now what…..
Sure wished it would remain in the plus temps for a couple or three weeks … enough to melt and dry up some of this moisture.
As we watch weather reports and the news from all over the world, I think more/most people are starting to believe that there has been significant damage done to the environment helping to create this crazy weather.
I just want our earth to be healthy and safe for us and our generations to come.
Just a couple of reminders …. things to do that will help in the effort to restore our earth to “green” ….
Take the time to separate your waste between real garbage and recycling.
Take the time to wash those cans and bottles.
If you smoke ….. please do not throw your butts on the street as they all end up down the storm drains and in the sewer system.
When you get groceries …. use cloth bags or paper or boxes anything but plastic.
Pick up the trash in your neighbourhood.
Take electronics to a recycling depot to be dismantled instead of throwing them in with the trash.
It is not only our weather that is affected but the wildlife on this planet.
You know all of those lovely plastic rings that hold your cans of pop in place instead of a box …. well they end up in the oceans and inside fish and birds.
They end up on beaches inside baby gulls and seals.
Poor babies have no idea what they are eating.
Can you imagine filling yourself up on plastic and starving to death?
Or perhaps a sharp bit of plastic perforating your insides.
How painful.
Just a reminder to be kind to your environment – we only have one earth.
If every person on this planet lived a “kind life” …. our planet would be happy.
Anyway not exactly a positive – happy blog this morning.
There are days when I am positively thrown by how inconsiderate we humans are of our co-inhabitants on this earth.
After all just because we have a “brain” that allows us to reason does not mean we are smarter or better than the common housefly.
We share this earth…..it is about time we showed it.
Special Hello to: all those people who take the time to recycle.
Always, Carol and Alvin
