The Next Chapter

Good Morning! Another beautiful May morning. Hard to believe that there are only two more days left in the month of May. Where does the time go? Feels like sometimes that it is evaporates. There is a coolness wafting into the office this morning. Yes, I opened the window to bring in some cool air. When I go downstairs I will open the windows at each end of the house. One being in the kitchen and the other in the living room. This will bring in some cool air. Gone are the days that I would open them early in the morning so that the main floor would be cool for Mr. Alvin. On the hot days, we would get out for an early morning walk. When Covid struck the planet, we would go in the mornings before work, if it was not too hot at my lunch break we would walk then and then should the temperatures be too hot after work, we would just stay cool by the fans. Sometimes we even went into the basement as it is always a few degrees cooler there. Yesterday morning after I got up and finished my small to do list, I grabbed my mug of coffee and “Alvin” and we sat out under the umbrella. He was in the shade but the umbrella did not quite cover me. There was still a nice cool breeze so I did not mind. We just enjoyed the sunshine with memories flooding my mind. He so loved his walks. His favourite spot on the deck was to lay just under the kitchen window and second was on the love seat next to me. I remember him as a pup and in the more early days how he would lay outside on the nice days soaking up the sunshine. Seems like a lifetime ago. I guess it really was but he will always be here.

Yesterday afternoon just after 4:00 p.m., the wind got up. I quickly brought in all of the houseplants and moved the other plants to the cover of the house or by the fence. I had taken the cushions from the table set and put them into the garage but left the cushions on the love seat and chairs on them. Earlier in the afternoon, my friend Gillian joined me on the deck for a cup of coffee, some sunshine, some laughter and good conversation. She is such a good friend. I am so grateful for her friendship. I was in the house and texting between three friends in two provinces when I noticed that one of the cushions had blown off one of the chairs. First time that has happened. I went out and put them away. All of my small items were moved just in case. If a gust moved the cushion then a little ornament from the table or deck could easily blow away. Not worried about anything get ruined but more of something being air borne and hitting someone or breaking a window. Anyway, after some heavy winds and a bit of rain a couple of hours later, I was out walking with Jeanette, Bruno and Eddie. Bruno, I am not sure how he is doing it, where does the energy come from, but he does a walk. Not a short one either. We take plenty of water and it almost all gets drank mainly by Bruno. We take three pet bottles of water and 500 ml (a lot of water). I will share a few photos of the boys from last night. The grass was “soft” after the rain.

The time is getting late here and I have a few things to do before leaving the house for the day. Tonight I vote in our provincial election. That will be after work. I hope that you are doing well and have a wonderful Monday.

Last Half 2022 – December 1, 2022

Good Morning ALL! Well here we are with Christmas fast approaching. How are things with you? Do you celebrate Christmas with all the bell & gifts or do you have a more faith based traditions. Perhaps somewhere in between. We all have our own way of celebrating the holidays – this season. I do like giving gifts, I love the decorations, the smells, baking and most of all spending time with friends and family. Oh and the tree, of course. I must admit that I spoiled Mr. Alvin this year, I don’t remember if I mentioned this perhaps I did, but here we go again. I bought him a Christmas sweater, an actual Christmas sweater, his first one. I also got him a new colourful fancy harness and a cute toy. I figure going into his 14th year that we should do it up big. I cannot wait for him to open his gifts. He loves opening presents, so this will be fun.

I guess we are in official countdown – 23 sleeps till Christmas Eve and 24 sleeps till Christmas Day.

This weekend is baking time. I am most excited to get into that rhythm …. hauling out the supplies, the recipes. Mixing and scooping and cutting out shapes (I do round for my sugar cookies). The smell of cookies wafting throughout the house. We are going to have fun. Alvin will not be too happy as I will be busy running around the kitchen but I will be home with him and that is what matters most.

Yesterday is was stormy. The roads were icy and the visibility was down. We were sent home about 3:00 p.m. so that we would miss the rush hour traffic and to ensure that we got home okay. I called my daughter as she has a long drive to let her know about the status of the roads and she was able to leave work early as well. Our drive was okay but my daughter reported that the roads were not good. I am so happy that we all got home safe and sound. After I got home, I hooked up my laptop and worked for awhile longer before feeding Mr. Alvin who was ready for supper when I opened the door. After he ate, I went shovelling. Shovelled the front including the neighbours, then part of the deck and the driveway before starting my supper. I threw together an odd combo that turned out to be yummy. I roasted/baked chickpeas with frozen brussel sprouts, caramelized an onion, chopped up some fresh celery, a red bell pepper, some grape tomatoes and then mixed all together. It was very yummy. I added some chili jelly on top. Supper was most enjoyable considering I had no idea what to eat when I got home.

Well the clock is ticking away and I must get back downstairs and finish getting things ready to go to the office. The storm died down and it stopped snowing. Thank goodness.

Happy Thursday.

P.S. hey Val, you were correct, I found a little poopette on top of the bed this morning. Pretty sure something else did not put it there. I am most relieved. Must be an age thing, lol. My poor boy.

Last Half 2022

Good Morning ALL! I trust that you are well and enjoying the weekend. The sky is a brilliant blue, the sun is shining and there is the most refreshing breeze wafting through my office window as I type these words. Alvin is laying on his belly on the hallway carpet, waiting for me. Another glorious weekend. Everything from walks to visits to video chat and in between some work got done. Yesterday morning we started out the day with a walk and I was happy that we were able to do what I refer to as a full one / normal one, then there was some laundry, coffee, breakfast, more laundry, cleaning and laundry. Our friend sent us an email inviting us for a visit as she missed us in the morning. We were just in process of getting Alvin’s harness ready to put on when there was a loud knock at the door, I was not expecting anyone so I carefully opened the door, to our surprise on the other side of the door was Pauline and Georgie. They had decided to walk over and pick us up so we could walk together. She also gave me a very thoughtful thank you card with the most beautiful floral design on the front. I thanked her and set it on the counter and continued getting us ready to go. A few minutes later we were out the door, I picked up Alvin and carried him down the steps as I have been doing as of late. Helping to keep him from injuring his knees. We walked and chatted and even saw neighbours outside along the way. When we arrived at the park Pauline suggested that we go the back way through the grass (which recently had been cut) the opposite side of the park which does not have a sidewalk. It was nice as the grass was wet and cool. We took a shortcut through the trees between the second and third pond which had us walking on some stones to come out near her house. My flip flops were wet and I was almost going to take them off to cross the stones as I thought more safe in bare feet but decided to go slow and most of the stones had more flat tops and rounded. It only took us a minute or so to cross. The pups got a bit wet as there was water up near the stones/rocks. Next thing we were through their gate and in the backyard where I removed Alvin’s leash and a minute later decided to take off his harness as it was warm outside. He was happy. Pauline grabbed a couple of cushions for the chairs that sit under the deck on the patio out of the sun. Then she was in the house to get our refreshments. While she was in the house Georgie jumped up on my lap while Alvin paced the patio sniffing and what not. We had iced tea and banana bread. She also brought out some photos of their Ontario trip to show me. Sometime during the visit I had lifted Mr. Alvin up on a third empty chair which was in between us, and he relaxed while we chatted. Georgie on Pauline’s lap. It was about 5:00 p.m. when Pauline noticed that the sky to the west was beginning to get some very ominous clouds developing and suggested that we may want to go home before the rain. I took a quick look and decided that we best be going and grabbed Alvin’s harness and his water bottle and put on his leash and said our goodbyes and were on our way. We were coming by Lucy’s house and she was outside doing yard work, we quickly said hello and pointed to the sky and advised that we had to get home before the storm hit. A little while later we saw a neighbour walking her two yellow labs and pointed out the storm. We hightailed it home. Just about home and saw our neighbour who recently had surgery out front speaking with her neighbour. We stopped briefly to say hello before going the last couple of minutes to our house. I think we were home not even 10 minutes when it began to rain. The storm was not like Thursday night and I was very happy about that. After that I fed Mr. Alvin his supper, turned on the last load of laundry and the dryer. I got my supper in the oven and then texted my sister. We ended up having a video chat via messenger as my cell phone cuts in and out and one cannot have a very good conversation that way. I am chalking it up to dead zones in the house which appear to be increasing over time. I plan to call Telus who is our provider in the area and see what can be done. Just seems like there has not been time to do so. If it were a matter of calling and speaking to someone right away that would be one thing but it is always a long wait and then I would be cutting in and out. I will perhaps try and contact them on-line. I had a great chat with my sister and had a late supper at 7:30 p.m. I cannot remember the last time that I ate that late but it happens. We were out and about and enjoying life. Who cares, right. Most important things we had great walks, good exercise, good company and visits with family and friends! Last night was quiet. I watched a movie followed by bed. That was our Saturday.

Today my daughter Amanda and one of my grandpups, the little one named Mi-Mi or Milo is coming for a visit and will spend the night. She will go to the office from here and then pick up Mi-Mi after work. We have lots to do this afternoon and evening.

Time to fly and have a shower. I brought up all of the laundry that had been drying and put it all away. I dry most of my clothes on racks. They last longer that way.

Have a wonderful Sunday. Enjoy the morning, maybe even get out for a walk.

We might get out after my shower or wait for the others.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus and possibilities.

PS: now 30 days till turn 65. The card was beautiful with a gift inside for looking after her garden while they were away. I called her to thank her for her generosity and that it was not necessary but she insisted. Smells like weed outside, not the garden variety – coming in through my open window. Smells like skunk ….. lol

Last Half 2022

Good Morning ALL! I hope that you are well. We are doing well. We were to bed later than usual as we were over visiting at Cookie’s home, the visit lasted over 4 hours and we had the best time. We laughed so hard. Mr. Alvin spent quite a bit of time sniffing about the main floor learning about every nook and cranny and also, I am quite certain looking for food. He is always looking for food. No, he is anything but starving. What a guy? I have known these neighbours for several years and even worked with the Dad for a few years although not in the same department. We became closer friends after looking after Cookie at Christmas time. They are such a lovely family. I always love learning about people. They had so many yummy treats, I felt extra special. We chatted about everything from government to work to family to different cultures as they are originally from Iraq and came to Canada thirteen years ago via Saudi Arabia. Perhaps I will even be able to learn some Arabic. That would be most interesting. It was a great night. Alvin took some time to get used to being in a different house – not his own. He does not visit many other houses except for his best friend Teddy so this was a big deal for him. They love Alvin and were very attentive to him. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful neighbours. Cookie’s Dad has a different job now so I don’t see him at work but then again, I am working from home so I am not seeing work people on a regular basis. I love working from home. I love working from home. I love working from home. Did I say that I love working from home. It is great. More “family” time and I get way more accomplished at home for my job than when I was in the office. Less distractions.

We also watched the weather change from a few clouds with sunny breaks last night to these big bad very eerie clouds. I knew something was coming. We had strong winds and the rain was being blown in sheets temporarily flooding the street. It was incredible to watch but scary to think of what damage it may have caused. I was thankful that I had closed all of our windows before leaving the house. Oh, now with all of the rain, I am being attacked by mosquitos. Yup, they are back. Surprised they have not shown up sooner. I was very happy to arrive back home from our visit to find most of my flowers intact. I had much concern about the ones at the front of the house as the wind and rain were coming in from the north west. Just a few petals were laying on the porch. Same in the back. So they survived. Hardy little things. WE just need some sunshine. I am asking for sunshine and the long range forecast is for 30’s next week or at least for a few days and that may not be the most forecast.

Well it is time to go and plug in the coffee and get to work. I have lots to get done today. That is the one thing about deadlines. So much of my job is about deadlines and timelines that are very tight. Oh well, I can do this and it is Friday. The sun is shining at this moment and the sky is light blue. We are good.

Have a great Friday.

PS: 32 days till 65.

2021

Good Morning ALL! I hope this finds you well. Both Alvin and I are safe and warm this Tuesday morning.

STORM

The wind is howling

Swirling the snow that has fallen.

Covering the bare sidewalk, deck and driveway that I shovelled only a few hours ago.

I wish that I was still curled up on the sofa with Alvin covered under our red cozy blanket.

But work calls my name.

I am grateful that on this cold stormy November morn,

That I am able to work from the comfort of my home.

I remember days gone by where I would be out shovelling in the wind and snow,

As I readied for work.

Worrying about the roads!

So happy that today I am at home.

Life has a way of changing things up every once in awhile.

During this storm, on this day, I am home.

Grateful as I type these words.

Listening to the wind howl through the vents.

Taking it’s revenge on us.

For what?

Who knows.

It is the wind, after all.

Does it need a reason?

I don’t think so.

Time for coffee

Time to take Alvin outside to the deck,

Where earlier he did not know where to go.

Shovel the snow from the doorway once again.

Happy to be home.

Happy to be home.

Safe and sound and warm.

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

OH, WOW, we are in a heat wave.

It is so hot in my office as I type this post that my wrists are sticking to the desk.

Beads of perspiration are mounting on my forehead.

Poor Alvin …. I cannot imagine being in a fur coat during this heat.

He is laying on our bed with the fan on the top setting to cool the bedroom down.

Now I am wishing that I had contacted someone to service the A/C.

Why, oh why?

I know why but doesn’t help matters now.

Thankfully one day left and then it will be under thirty.

Hot but bearable.

I just want to say thank you to some very special folks for their invaluable help during Alvin’s latest health issues.

When they say it takes a village – it does, whether it is your child or a pet.

Family is family.

The pharmacist at the nearby Pharmasave came through as promised with some Robaxin and I called a friend and she was here to pick me up in like 5 minutes.

He was so nice when I picked up Alvin’s medicine.

Timing is everything.

I have timing.

Thank goodness.

I see Alvin just popped into the office to see where I am.

He cannot stay in here or he will expire.

I can barely take this heat.

The sky is overcast and there is the possibility of some rain in the later evening hours.

That should help cool things down.

I am going to have a shower but feeling a bit guilty and want to put Alvin into the shower.

I have been wiping him with a cool wet cloths to help.

Making sure we both drink lots of water.

Time to go.

I hope that all is well with you.

I need a shower badly.

So hot.

So very hot.

Keep cool.

Stay safe.

Living with kindness and respect.

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning All,

We are in the middle of a summer thunderstorm complete with rain and wind.

Thank goodness Alvin has already been out twice so we are good for awhile.

I moved my potted plants away from the protection of the house around 6:00 a.m. and hopefully the storm passes without any damage to my flowers.

Yes, I am one of those people who move their flowers when the clouds start to roll in.

I love my flowers and they bring me joy.

They cannot bring job if the hail flattens them or heavy rains.

So I try to take care of them so they will last long into the summer and even fall.

A drink is what they got this morning …. raining some but not heavy, thankfully.

I am feeling a lot more rested after spending a glorious night in my/our bed.

Alvin slept through the night and only went to get up when I showed to be doing so.

Yesterday I called our Vet and spoke to one of the staff who in turn spoke to the Vet.

She added another prescription to his pain med, this one he will take every 12 hours for three days on top of the other that is once every 24 hours.

I think he is also freaked out by the storm.

I will say one thing that is odd, he listens to my commands now.

If I say stay (he was on the bed), he stays until I help him down.

If I say have a drink of water, he went and had a drink of water.

Very strange.

Not that he is unruly or doesn’t listen but he doesn’t ….. not a bad doggie.

Just spoiled, I guess.

It is raining a bit harder.

I am hoping that the clouds keeping on moving ….. I am sure that someone somewhere needs some moisture.

We would like some sunshine.

I don’t think that the grass is get any more green.

The colour of grass – oh, how I love that shade of green.

I can smell the coffee perking and I cannot wait to have a sip of the Hazelnut blend that I am perking.

Well thankfully things in our household are much better.

To think it all started with a storm last Thursday, me on the after hours phone line, a slip getting up on the deck, a visit to the Vet and who knows what else.

I am grateful that today even though it is storming …. I am feeling a lot more ZEN.

Which is a good thing as Mr. Alvin can sense when I am anxious.

Last night after work my daughter went to COSTCO.

She picked up some items for me.

Luckily I just had prepared a black bean burger with all the toppings including some fresh lettuce that she had given me.

When she arrived with not much time and with a sore foot (her story to tell), I offered her half of my burger which I had already cut in half.

I unloaded the car while she had a bite to eat.

She had another stop to make and I figured that she might be a bit hungry as it was after 6:00 by this time.

I love seeing my girl even if it is on the run …. all time, every second, minute is priceless.

Well that rain is coming down harder.

I will have to watch my flowers.

Might have to make a mad dash out to move them.

Well 8 days to work before vacation time.

So time to sign off here and grab my coffee as the fragrance has curled its’ way up the stairs to my nose.

Mmmmm.

Have an awesome Wednesday.

I hope that kindness and respect follow you every second of every day.

Living with kindness and respect is the only way.

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning after WHAT A  NIGHT!

Another storm rolled in after a hot sunny day.

I am reading this book which is a crime psychological suspense novel.

THE TURN OF THE KEY by Ruth Ware.

WOW, what a book.

Likely not the best to be reading before bed with a storm looming.

Anyway that is what I have been reading.

I only read a few pages last night as we were up late.

I decided to rent a movie “The Old Guard” from our cable provider.

It was good but it was 10:30 by the time it was over and then we had to get ready for bed.

So it was late for me and Alvin.

After putting down the book – I found it hard to settle down.

Alvin did as well.

Likely in part as it was warm.

I had the electric fan on a low setting with the window open.

At first there was not much of a breeze but it increased over time.

I would just almost be asleep and then Alvin would stir.

Then settle down again.

Only to be awoke by this noise.

It sounded like someone was in the house and coming up the stairs.

I froze.

I could not move.

No blinking of my eyes or beat of my heart, as I momentarily held my breath.

As I lay there in sheer terror for what felt like forever – I suddenly realized that Alvin was not stirring.

Odd, as he would have been up and barking if there were anyone or anything in the house.

So I took a breath and looked around the room in the partial light coming in from the windows.

One of the blinds was not closed to the bottom of the window so a bit of light was coming in.

As I lay there I scanned the room.

Nothing and then I realized where the noise was coming from.

That whossing, small thud was coming from the door.

The darn door.

I was relieved to be sure.

I have started in the last couple of years to close but not shut the door tight.

My thoughts were if something happened to me during the night at least Alvin could get out of the bedroom.

I still was a bit nervous, I will be say but I climbed out of bed and closed the door.

The noise stopped.

I stopped and listened and no more noise.

Do you think that I turned on the light and looked further, absolutely NOT.

So that was our excitement for the night.

Alvin woke up about 4:30 or was it 5:30, actually I do not remember as I was so tired.

Exhausted after two nights of storms.

After he was fed, watered and went outside we hit the sofa, it was 7:22 when we woke again.

My mind said get up but my body said not until 8:00 a.m. so I set the timer on the microwave for 40 minutes.

We were up just after 8:00 a.m.

The sun is shining and the birds are singing.

I went outside in my pj’s to the backyard to move my potted flowers back to their spots away from the protection of the house.

Surviving another storm.

I decided to go into the garage and bring out the cushions for the patio furniture and put up the umbrella as the sun is shining bright.

Thinking that was a great idea until I checked the weather station and they are forecasting rain to start at 9:00 a.m. which is in less than 10 minutes now.

Oh well,

I have decided to take Mr.Alvin for a walk after I am done writing this post as according to the forecast we are to get rain off and on all day.

My friend Gillian invited me over for coffee at 10:00 so there is time to get out for a walk before I leave.

She lives about 3 minutes away.

So that was my night.

My day was far better.

I did some laundry, gave Mr. Alvin a haircut and bath and worked at my job for 3.5 hours.

I know, crazy working on a beautiful afternoon.

But there is so much to do this really gives me peace of mind that I will not be super stressed out during the week.

I have a few hours to do this afternoon as well.

I was thinking that I have not been further than a few blocks from my house since March 19, 2020.

My daughter and my friends have been picking up groceries as I need things.

To be honest the thought of going on the bus or to the store or to work slightly frightens me at this point.

Well I must go.

Time to get the boy out for a walk.

There is a nice breeze.

Wishing you a great Sunday.

Be surrounded by love and laughter.

Living in kindness with respect.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

This morning exactly the same as yesterday.

Oh, I put the cushions on the furniture ….

It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning All,

A bright beautiful sunny breezy Monday morning here in Edmonton.

What a great weekend we had despite my tumble down the stairs on Friday morning.

My daughter dropped by on Saturday to help her Momma give her little brother Alvin a haircut.

I still cannot believe we cut 1/3 of the time off the time it normally takes me.

Teamwork.

I was slowed down a bit on Saturday and even early on Sunday but now I can walk okay.

I will say that the bruising is still ugly but that likely takes a few days to fade away.

We hosted a great birthday party for our friend “G” yesterday morning.

Most of the party was held out on our deck in the bright warm sunshine.

We ate the birthday cake in the house as it was hot and I feared that the cream on the strawberry shortcake would melt.

A great time was had by all.

G’s Mom came as well as she was visiting.

The four of us ladies and Alvin had a great time.

The rest of the day was beautiful until it was not.

Well into the afternoon the sky clouded over.

By late afternoon/early evening it was very windy and raining.

I put away all of the cushions away.

I even put the umbrella in the garage as it was forecasting 100 km wind gusts.

I took these photos from my bedroom window last night during the wind.

The flowers are so pretty and the first two photos how can you tell it was kind of breezy.

Well time to get to work.

Running late ….. one would think with no commute that a person would be early.

Well I am not late for work as I start at 8:00 a.m. but I like to be starting before that time.

There is lots of things to do as one signs into the computer.

I hope that you have an awesome Monday.

With kindness and respect,

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Living… One day at a time.

Hello,

Well it is just before 8:00 a.m. on this slightly overcast Saturday morning.

Pups have had breakfast.

Teddy, Alvin and I have been out for a walk.

Popped the first of three unexpected loads of laundry into the washing machine.

Put coffee on to brew and also ground some coffee for tomorrow or maybe later today.

Made my bed.

Working on this post.

Yesterday was a great day when I left the office I felt as though I had accomplished what I wanted/needed to do.

Only two work days next week before I am on vacation for a few weeks.

So looking forward to the time off but at the same time I do want to leave “my desk” in good order.

I even completed a task that is not typically done until the middle of the month.

Check.

YAY.

On Fridays in the summer months we are allowed to leave at 3:00 p.m. and I was lucky to catch a ride with a co-worker who lives not too far away.

Once home it was clearly too warm for us to walk.

So I decided to get some work done.

Some laundry, tidying up.

I was just speaking to my sister when a call came in on the cell phone, I wasn’t sure how to switch over so I let it go and continued to speak to my sister.

All of a sudden my house phone rang and I figured it was the person who was calling me on the cell.

So grabbed the phone from the kitchen and saw it was my neighbour, so kindly asked my sister to hold on for a moment so that I could take the call.

My neighbor wanted to see if Mr. Humphrey could spend the evening with us and of course, I said Yes.

I was explaining to her about Teddy coming and she said she knew as they had just arrived.

She saw them before I did.

So we had Humphrey and Teddy and Mums all arriving at the house at the same time.

There was some running and excitement.

We chatted for a bit.

Humphrey’s Mom was going out so she left and Teddy’s Mom stayed for a few minutes longer.

Then it was me and the boys.

I had finished the laundry before all the company arrived.

We spent some time outside.

Humphrey loves being on the deck.

It was warm but he loved being outside.

The other two were back and forth as I had the fans going inside.

We had some weather.

Tornado watch for most of the evening.

At one point I heard thunder and saw lightning in the distance so I scooped up the babies and brought them into the house.

Well of course, Teddy and Alvin walked but I did scoop up Humphrey as he did not want to go into the house.

We had a quiet evening.

Just putzing and relaxing.

Humphrey’s Mom came home about 9  p.m. and then it was just three.

I decided that I was tired by then and we started to get ready for bed.

We went outside for the pups to go for a pee and or poo.

That ended up being an extra long process.

You will find out in a moment.

So I call the pups upstairs.

Moved the pillows off the bed.

Went into the bathroom to brush my teeth.

Teddy went downstairs and Alvin just sat outside the bathroom door (was in the main bathroom as I have my dental station set up in there).

Once done, I went and picked up Teddy to bring him upstairs.

I was wondering for a second why he went downstairs.

Back in our bedroom, I closed the door.

Teddy was playing in the blanket on the bed, hiding while Alvin just hung around me.

Once I had washed and changed and was ready to lay down and read my book.

I moved the blanket and in the semi dark something looked out of place.

I turned on the light to see someone had peed on the bed.

That someone was the little someone who had been playing in the blanket as Alvin was not even in that spot.

So I lifted up the bedspread wet, top sheet wet, bottom sheet wet, pillowtop wet, all wet down to the mattress cover.

I am so glad that I purchased that and left it on the bed.

So I grabbed my pet stain removed and one my one cleaned the wet spots on each of the coverings.

Then placed them in the laundry basket and into the bathtub until laundry this morning.

That was my unexpected laundry.

So then I only placed sheets on the bed – not taking a chance and having to wash another bedspread.

I always wash bedding on the weekend so that was okay.

But it was 30 minutes that I was not planning and then my reading time was cut down considerably.

Teddy slept good but then Alvin was up and down all night long.

So at about 2 a.m. – decided might as well come downstairs to sleep.

Downstairs we went.

Our actual getting up to stay up was much earlier than normal about 6:30 a.m.

Early for a weekend.

Oh well, the laundry is on and the stains should come out.

What a night and early morning.

In just over one hour my grand pups will arrive.

Time to have breakfast.

I took some shots of the pups last night, the storm and stuff.

Will share of them.

One never knows what is going to happen and has to be prepared for “anything.”

The Oriental Lilies that I received as a gift, so many blooms.

On the way to the bus stop on Friday morning – the water fountain – such a beautiful place

The next shots while we were on the deck last night.

Above shots taken during the storm last night

The shots below were just as we were going to bed before the accident.

You can actually see the wet in the last photo.

Hadn’t realized that until just now.

Anyway we are off to a great start this morning.

I am hungry so time to have breakfast and coffee before the grand pups arrive in about one hour or perhaps sooner.

All in the life ….

I will admit to be a bit upset about the “pee” last night but then I remembered that he had gone downstairs … he was telling me something.

I just chose not to listen.

Oh well, it is all good.

Happy Saturday.

Kindness and Respect to all, no matter how many legs you may have ….

Life is good …. sometimes there is the odd hiccup along the way …. but it is not the end of the world.

Only a small pothole in the road.

Have an awesome day.

My tummy is a rumbling.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Teddy
