Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 23rd day of April, 2019.

The sun is well up and the sky is slightly overcast.

My last day of vacation before heading back to work tomorrow.

I have so enjoyed this time at home with my Alvin.

So much has been accomplished and I am most grateful.

Last night we went to bed a bit later than our usual time as we had Mr. Humphrey over while is Momma was out for her dancing class.

Up then up at 5:30.

Alvin ate his breakfast and went outside and then we hit the sofa for some extra zzz’s.

I figured last morning to sleep in for a bit.

I was dreaming stories which was great and now only remember bits and pieces.

Like out for a walk with Alvin and a small dog (one we knew but do not remember) with no leashes.

Not something that I would ever be doing.

Alvin went to turn onto the street and a red car turned at the same time he stopped and rolled down his window; it was my son-in-law.

I do not remember if he even spoke to me.

I managed to get the pups to safety across the street where my son-in-law stayed with them while I got into the car.

The windshield was covered with a sheet as I struggled to get the seat ready for me to drive the car.

It was so strange.

The seat was not your ordinary one.

Every time I moved it back for forward; it would zig and zag.

Finally I managed to get it sort of okay and pulled the sheet up and caught it in the door so that it would not move.

Why I did not take it off I will never know?

Why was it there in the first place I will never know?

Why did I drive the car?

Why did I not put the pups in the back seat and my son-in-law drive us home?

Why did my son-in-law bring the pups home?

We were very close to home.

Just down the street by the park.

More questions that not.

So many dreams in that few hours that we were snuggled on the sofa this morning.

At the end I drove home and my son-in-law brought the pups home.

I think he carried them.

Stuff of dreams.

Well last day before heading back to work.

Some laundry to do and I am going to check on Mr. Humphrey after getting dressed.

A bit later than we have been getting up as it is slightly after 9:00 a.m.

We have been up for about 20 minutes or so.

Will be enjoying a walk or two today.

I hope that you all had an awesome Easter weekend.

Spent time with your family and friends.

Perhaps got some spring cleaning done.

Had a walk with your pup or with family and friends or ALL.

Wishing you an awesome Tuesday.

Happy Day.

Looking forward to coffee after I get dressed and go check on Mr. Humphrey.

Perhaps later will bring him over to spend some time with us.

He likes to go outside.

Special Hello to: all my family and friends.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 7th day of  June, 2016.

The sun is shining and it is calm this morning after an evening and overnight filled with thunder and lightning.

Despite Mother Nature’s good attempts “no rain.”

I had the most strange dreams during the early morning hours and after we hit the sofa for some extra zzz’s.

I had sold my house and moved into this old apartment.

It was huge.

When I was going through the cupboards I noticed there were foil pans, a mop bucket (they were floor to ceiling cupboards) and lots of odds and ends.

This always makes me nervous.

So much so that I cannot take things out of the cupboard.

Then I noticed that there was water under the window.

The floor was slanted so it was about a foot of water on the floor.

Just on the one side of the room.

Very strange.

So I called the maintenance guy.

He said that an old woman had been running the water in the sink when she died.

I found it strange that after all that time no one cleaned it up.

Why had I not seen this apartment before I moved in?

Anyway there was a bit more but it was strange.

I do not remember Alvin but someone had been there with me visiting and called out from another room  “oh no, there is a mouse.”

Anyway I am sure he was there somewhere …… because I do not go anywhere without him.

It is funny the things that we dream.

Back to reality.

Almost time to leave for work.

Gotta run.

Argh.

Special Hello to: all those people who have odd dreams.

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 24th day of May, 2016.

Overcast but has stopped raining for now.

No rain overnight.

GREEN GREEN EVERYWHERE.

*******************************************************

I always find it funny not necessarily ha ha funny but perhaps strange funny to look back in time on my blog and see what I was doing on this DATE last year or two years ago.

I had a very busy weekend and it was HOT unlike this past weekend.

Always good to see what was going on a year ago or two it can help with your current mind set.

****************************************************************

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 24th day of May, 2015.

It is a beautiful morning here in Edmonton, sun shining and a cool breeze masking the heat.

Yesterday felt like a July day ….. HOT.

Weather is a funny thing not funny ha ha but strange.

This morning is what I deem as perfection.

It is warm but the breeze keeps it comfortable to be out and about.

Great for walking.

But alas, Mr. Alvin is on his sleepover at his sister’s house.

His first one at their new place.

I am excited to hear all about it.

While he was away and the reason for his sleepover the furnace was cleaned.

Two of the nicest young men did the job.

Funny though they both told me different sizes for the furnace filter ( I already know which one ).

Perhaps it was the hot day that messed with their memory.

Once they left I got busy …. it was close to 4 p.m. but better late than ever.

I dug out three shrubs from the front “flower bed” ……

It took some work and at one point I was thinking it would have been nice to have had some help.

But I kept at it and got them out.

Got most of the dirt from the roots and then as the shrubs lay on the lawn …..

Now what?

One was quite heavy and with branches how am I going to dispose of them.

Aha, I thought ….. get those big stretchy black garbage bags …..

I managed to squeeze each one into their own bag.

Then lugged them to the back …. up the steps and onto the deck and up more steps and into the garage.

It took me almost one hour to get the shrubs out but I must tell you, I felt like a million dollars.

I did it all by myself …… I am strong and not reliant on someone else.

It was a good thing.

Then after that I raked and moved the dirt around in the now naked flower bed.

Also the neighbour behind is building a huge garage and has a big pile of top soil so I decided to ask him if I would be able to use some to top up my front flower bed.  He kindly said “yes.”

Then I had to find something to put the dirt into …. I found a ten gallon pail in my garage.

Now let me you a pail full of dirt is not light.

But I hauled five of them from his yard across the back alley into my garage down both sets of steps on my deck across the path between me and my neighbour’s to the front flower bed.

What a great workout.

I do believe that going to bootcamp helped me to complete this task.

I definitely could feel my core and arms doing what they were supposed to ….

Here are some photos:  furnace cleaners and the flower bed ….. forgot to take before photos !!

Was so grateful to have my kids shovels and garden tools to use….

Now all I need is a couple of bags of potting soil to top it up and then some flowers.

YAY ….. I did it.

Well time for breakfast and coffee…

Happy Sunday and always remember “do not sell yourself short.”

You are stronger than you think.

You are better than you think.

You are more resourceful than you think.

You can do anything.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 8th day of December, 2016.

Do you ever or often awake from dreaming all night and only remember a few flashes from those dreams?

Last night was one of those nights.

It felt like dreams from a fantasy world.

So hard to articulate for sure.

The one thing that I remember and this is so strange is this:  I was peeling away layers of what seemed to be my feet but looked like felt and glue.

There was no pain or joy associated with this flash.

Very strange.

Now at this time I have forgotten everything but the felt and glue.

Perhaps I should have placed a notepad and pen on my nightstand.

It always makes me wonder how our brain brings forth such imaginative tales.

Anyway back to reality.

It has been lightly snowing since yesterday.

I love to look out the window and see big flakes slowly coming down.

Always reminds me of a snow globe and I love them.

Alvin and I did a bit of shovelling last night ….

It was so easy as the snow is light and fluffy.

The best kind for shovelling.

So easy to move about.

I am excited about tomorrow as my daughter is coming late morning and we are going to have pancakes for “brunch” followed by an afternoon of making jewellery.

We are using polymer clay and I have been dreaming/thinking of making flowers.

So will have to sketch some designs and then figure best way to go about making them.

I hope that you are doing great.

Thinking and dreaming …. Dreaming and thinking.

Always the best combination.

You cannot do one without the other.

Have the best Friday ever.

Filled with laughter, kind deeds and respectful actions.

Happy Friday Everyone.

Special Hello to: all those folks who read my blog ….. I so appreciate your time.

Always, Carol and Alvin

P.S. Funny thing this morning …. I was leaving the bathroom and happened to glance down as I took a step and saw a black ball (my work socks) laying in the middle of the doorway.  Mm, I thought do not think that I put them there.  Guess Mr. Alvin was trying to help me get dressed.  I always lay out my clothes on the bed before I wash, put on makeup and brush my teeth.  First time he has done this although I know he loves socks as usually when they are in the laundry basket he wrestles to get them through the openings in the weave on the basket.  To bring a smile to your face.  Then he tried to look all innocent when I said “Mr. Alvin.”

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 25th day of May, 2015.

The sun is coming up and forecast is for 25 degrees celsius today.

I hope that you had a great weekend.

Mine was wonderful.

Great company, accomplished many items from my master TO DO LIST and relaxed.

Doesn’t get better than that.

It feels strange ….. I have decided to wear dresses more often.

They are cooler in the warmer weather.

So today is a dress day.

I am so used to wearing pants and capris and shorts that I feel almost naked.

Also this dress is a tad shorter.

My daughter picked me up a couple of cute dresses from a swap she had at work.

They fit perfectly.

It was funny because I had been thinking it would be nice to have a couple dresses for the warmer weather.

Voile they showed up.

In my favourite colours, too.

How is that for “thoughts become things.”

So here we go …. try something a bit new.

Well I am running a couple of minutes later as it took some time to do up the back zipper ….. I must show Alvin how to do up a zipper ….. would that not be a sight.  But should would be nice.

Have an awesome Monday.

Special Hello to: all those people who are trying something new today, you rock.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday, February 8th, 2013.

WOW, Friday already.

This has been a funny …. like strange week.

Even people in the office would agree with that statement.

Things that we do on a regular basis …. we forget ….

Strange twists on the norm …. people just not quite themselves.

So what makes that happen to people sharing the same space.

Is it something in the air ….

Are we all thinking the same?

Is it in the water?  (just kidding).

As strange as it was I am glad that I was not alone.

So what was your week like?

Did you have odd things happen, stuff out of the norm?

How did you handle it?

I tried to laugh for the most part … cause what else can you do?

Just do your job.

Anyway, I hope that you had a great week and to all my readers, you guys rock.

I am well on my way to the million readers……

One day….. I will be there.

I will be as happy to reach one million people as I am reaching “38” ….. each person is special and important.

I am grateful for each and every one.

Thank you.

Well time to fly here …. had to sleep a few minutes longer and then Alvin just had to stay outside admiring the stars for longer than usual….. it’s all good.

Have a great day.

Special Hello: to my nephew “T” …. it is his 36th Birthday tomorrow….. wow, I can still see him as a small boy …. now he’s grown and has three of his own.  Happy Birthday Buddy.

Always & With Much Gratitude: Carol and Alvin …….
