Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 3rd day of August, 2016.

We actually went for an extra long walk around what we lovingly refer to “The Big Lake.”

It was funny about half way around Mr. Alvin turned to go back (I guess he figured that was enough).

But I coaxed him onward between gentle words and some water we carried on.

I always carry a puppy water bottle with us on our walks in the summertime.

Even on a cooler day such as today animals get thirsty.

I mean the health professionals are always saying that when you are out for a walk we humans are to take water with us.

Personally I think the poor puppies need it more than we do ….. after all they are sporting fur coats when we have shorts and tank tops on as as example.

Honestly other than my daughter and her husband I have yet in the six years since I adopted Alvin have ever seen one person walking with their dog(s) that was carrying some kind of water bottle for them.

No one does.

I am slightly no I am in total disbelief of this action.

I know that most of the folks I have seen love their animals as they are out walking with them, they are well groomed for the most part …. so why no water.

It truly has been bugging me for a long time.

I even told my daughter I would like to buy a bunch of pet water bottles and hand them out to people when me and Alvin are out for our walks.

Also one time earlier in the summer on a warm day …. it was after work and we were out for a walk.

A man was walking with his dog …. a collie I believe …… long long hair and the dog was panting to beat the band.

We had said hello.

I was giving Alvin a drink and he asked about his water bottle.

I explained to him that when dogs pant they are not only trying to cool down but they are stressed.

They get stressed when they get hot.

I immediately offered some water to the dog but he said they were on their way home.

He asked where you buy the water bottles and I told him.

I sure hope that he did pick up a bottle.

He had talked about going for two walks every day so I know that he cared about the dog.

Just amazes me that no one thinks to carry water with them for the dogs.

Anyway …..

GREAT NEWS.

Sir Elton, my daughter and son-in-law’s boy and my grand-puppy had a check up / follow up appointment with his Doctor yesterday.

My daughter said the appointment went great.

She said that the Doctor was almost giddy with joy over Elton’s amazing recovery.

As are we.

He is a stubborn, old guy that just will not give up.

We are so grateful for that …..

My kids are great parents to Elton and I know their love and support through these past few months have truly made a difference.

More news:

Yesterday I received a necklace that I earned through Steeped Tea.

It is a blue/turquoise glitter ball made for Steeped Tea by Hillberg & Berk, a Saskatchewan Jewellery Company out of Regina.

The necklace is absolutely gorgeous.

Also the new Fall/Winter Steeped Tea Catalogues along with my second last tea order arrived yesterday.

It was an awesome day for good news.

Ending the day Alvin and I walked by our park and met up with our friends and their puppies.

We had a fun walk.

Today let me see:

Agenda ….. clean bathroom fans ….. one thing about having three bathrooms …. there are three fans.

I will also take apart some catalogues and place the individual pages in page protectors and folders for my customers.

I am also putting together a couple of packages to mail over the next couple of days …. I do need the big envelopes, though.

I also am going to continue to pull weeds from back and sides of the garage.

Some of the neighbours have just let the back go and therefore makes it harder for the rest of us to be weed free.

Always cleaning to do.

Also I am going to dig up an area out front by the front sidewalk to the street and make a new flower bed.

It is a big job so likely won’t start it until Friday or Saturday.

Well time to get going here.

Coffee time.

I hope that you all are doing well.

Have an awesome Wednesday.

Special Hello to: my friend “V” ……. gathering your package contents up to mail tomorrow or Friday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 15th day of December, 2014.

Our weather here in Edmonton has been great over the past couple of weeks.

Sure makes for a great holiday season when the temperatures are not minus 30.

Okay crazy Christmas Eve is one week from this Wednesday ……

Where has the time gone?

How are you feeling on this Monday?

Seems like so many people are suffering from colds or the flu.

I hope that you are feeling well.

I am feeling great.

I was able to wrap all of the Christmas gifts and finished off the Christmas cards.

There might be the odd card that I forgot and can always send them this week.

We are having guests for Christmas Day …. so that will be nice.

Just wondering if you had noticed if folks are “naughty” or “nice” this holiday season?

You really notice how people are feeling when you work in retail.

But I will say this much most people seem to be patient and pleasant.

Which is great.

If you have been feeling impatient and not to pleasant then take some time to be alone and just relax.

Sip on a cup of tea and listen to some of your favourite music ….. maybe even a Christmas song.

You will find it much easier to get through the day and the season if you are “nice.”

I am using both naughty and nice in the broad sense of course.

We always want to be around people who are “nice.”

Almost time to go to work …. seems like I just left the office ……

Special Hello to: “ALL THE SANTAS OUT THERE.”  Keep up the great work.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 10th day of April, 2014.

How are you this fine morning?

I am doing great.

Alvin even sat on my lap as I wrote in my “gratitude” journal.

He hasn’t done that in awhile.

Was nice.

How did you do yesterday at remaining positive and upbeat?

Did you take a misstep?

I did …. and I apologized.

Was a bit stressed and didn’t take into account that my co-worker might have been too.

Wasn’t serious but I felt bad.

Always learning.

Every word that comes out of your mouth you have to take responsibility.

Every thought that comes into your mind you have to take responsibility.

It would seem that if we all took more responsibility for our words and actions that perhaps the earth would be a much better place to live.

A place we would be proud to leave to the next generations.

A place we would proudly call “Planet Earth, Our Home.”

Just thinking ….. you know ….. on a Thursday morning.

I just want to be a better person.

Not just for others but for me.

If I am that better person then I will give that to others.

They will see that and perhaps it will give them the push they need to be better people.

Just thoughts on a Thursday morning.

It is all you can do and all you should do.

To strive to be better in that moment.

This moment.

To live in the Now ….. not behind or ahead.

Food for thought.

I hope that you are energized and have the most spectacular day.

Thank you for reading.

Special Hello to: my fellow inhabitants of planet Earth …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 4th day of June, 2013.

WOW, we are in the sixth month already where has the time gone.

It is a gorgeous morning here in Edmonton and I am feeling much better (was home sick yesterday).

Alvin and I made tracks early this morning when we walked to and around a nearby lake.

The early morning is so beautiful.

Calm ….. serene ….. birds chirping ……. the smell of freshly cut grass.

I do love the early morning …

My thought for you is to share this experience.

Tomorrow morning set your alarm for 30 minutes earlier that you normally get up.

Pull on some sweat pants or the like and grab your runners.

Feed the dog if you have one …..

Have a drink or grab your water bottle and go outside.

It is a great way to start the day ….

I truly do feel more awake when I have hauled my butt out for an early morning walk.

Alvin loves it …..

Walking before you have had a chance to get stressed or start going on your day is wonderful.

The air …. OMG …. so beautiful.

Trust me ….. there is no better way to start the day.

I feel as though I can do anything.

Good for your heart, good for your mind, good for your “soul” and great for your puppy.

Have a great day.

Special Hello to:  early morning walkers …

Always, Carol and Alvin
