Second Half of the NEW YEAR – last quarter

Hello All, what a morning or rather what a night. It would appear that Mr. Alvin may have another ear infection or it may be that the rainy weather has flared the arthritis in his paws. He even did the butt drag for a moment a few minutes ago. Clearly something is wrong so off to the vet we go. I will call them as soon as they are open and fingers crossed that I can get in today. I cannot go another night with not much sleep. Work is hectic and I am pooped as it feels like things are coming at me from all directions. Did I say work is hectic that is perhaps the biggest understatement of all time. Okay perhaps I am exaggerating just a bit as I am feeling a bit sleep deprived. The wind is blowing this morning and it has been raining. Today is supposed to be +11 degrees celsius. Now that is a beautiful day. Hopefully the sun comes out as I do not wish to be walking Alvin to the vet for an ear appointment in the rain. He does have a raincoat and perhaps I could wrangle him into it as he is now comfortable with his new sweater.

We did enjoy a wonderful walk yesterday at lunchtime. The air was warm with a tinch of coolness but comfortable for walking. Alvin strutted along in his new sweater not giving any clue that just the days before he was not happy about wearing it. I am glad that he calmed down and loves it now.

How are you doing today? Tuesday morning? Are you working? Home or at the office? Or perhaps you are a front lines worker. Isn’t it funny we never or rarely heard that term but now it is every day. Life has changed so much since the the early part of the year. Does not even seem possible that I have been working home for almost one year. Wow.

I forgot that our time changes this weekend on Sunday, I believe. We FALL back one hour.

I just see red lights out by the garage and realized that it is the garbage guys. That would not be much fun picking up trash in the dark. Not much fun at all. Could be dangerous. I did not see any lights on the side but there must be as not everyone has lights down the back lane.

I am going to end this post as my brain is a bit foggy for lack of sleep. I hope and trust that everything will work out for each and every one of us. Things may not be perfect but that is okay. Life is a new perfect now. Change is the new norm. Whether that is good, bad or indifferent, I have not decided.

Take Care, be safe. Live with as much respect and kindness that you can fit into your days and your life. I believe that this is how we shall survive.

I/We shall remain, as always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. on the upside it is four sleeps until Halloween and five until Christmas, I mean my Christmas Tree goes up and I decorate the house.

Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and welcome to the day before the official first day of fall.

This would be Monday, September 21, 2020.

How are you doing today?

I could not turn off the thoughts last night.

Do you have any idea of what I was thinking?

Well I was all consumed with the photos on my camera and not being able to upload / download from camera to computer.

I did “more carefully” read the notes on my camera/phone as follows:

Upload paused for 3682 items MANAGE STORAGE

Not Enough iPhone Storage.

So last night I was quickly going through my photos.

The only problem is … I am not 100% sure that they are all downloaded as not initially when I got the phone but more the past few months, I was having some issues

downloading to computer.

I would get the message on my computer that “there were files that would not download.”

They could be the photos that are multiple frames in one.

I have found that if I do not put the mode into portrait it shots live and there can be multiple shots in one photo.

Now I have no idea if this is the problem.

Unfortunately I forgot to ask my daughter, the photographer when she was here on Saturday.

But definitely will be asking her.

So there will be no photos for awhile.

I will keep going through photos each night.

This is what happens when you are lazy and procrastinate.

I should have been going through them as I downloaded them and then deleted the photos from my phone.

Before my computer cannot handle the thousands of photos, I must do the same.

It was far more easy in the old days when we could take a photo, if it turned out, you kept it otherwise you threw it away.

But you know even at that I kept photos that were not perfect.

I guess I have always felt that I was throwing away the person or whatever the subject of the photo was.

One would think that I was a hoarder by those comments.

I guess when it comes to photos I am.

They are precious to me.

But I have to get things straightened out.

So every night for as long as it takes, I will be going through the photos on my phone.

I think it is safe to say duplicates can go.

I think it is safe to say out of focus can go.

I think it is going to take some time.

But that is life.

Well time to head on downstairs and start work.

Perhaps some of you can identify with my “photo problem.”

Others will likely giggle and say “Oh my gosh, Carol.”

Whatever you think or feel, I know that I am a work in progress.

Be Safe today.

Take Care.

Continue to live with kindness and respect for ALL beings …… animals, trees ……….

We need everything to be in good repair on this planet for us all to survive.

Living with kindness and respect.

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

No frost, thank goodness.

Beautiful sky this morning.

Great day ahead.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 13th day of September, 2017.

Dark outside and started to rain sometime after 4:30 a.m. this morning.

It is quite dry so a bit of rain is great for the plants and grass.

With the temperatures cooling down a bit – time to grab the spring/fall jacket.

Seems funny having long pants on two days in a row.

My legs feel odd.

Isn’t that the way it goes after all summer wearing shorts/capris/skirts and the like with bare legs.

Then fall comes and some days you need to wear pants.

That is the way she goes.

Well I am running a bit late ….. the extra clothing and lace-up shoes …… need time for that …..

I will say that we certainly enjoyed taking our walk last night – soon after Alvin had his supper.

Happy Wednesday you all.

To all those folks in the areas hit by the Hurricanes and flooding we are thinking of you.

We hope you are safe, dry and warm.

Special Hello to: my fellow human beings – please be kind to each other, to the planet and to all creatures big and small.  We need each other to survive.

Always, Carol & Alvin
