Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 28th day of August, 2016.

It is overcast for the most part this morning but it is clearing some to the south and I assume to the east as I can see brightness coming from that part of the sky.

Sunshine or not??

Oh yes there is some sunshine as it is shining on one of the houses to south of my window.

YAY ….. sometimes it is the little things that bring such joy.

I really would like the sun to shine.

It seems like we have had many days of clouds and rain.

 

Yesterday was a busy day preparing the house for the tea party today at noon.

So in just a few hours.

Some of the girls that I used to work with at the store are coming for the Steeped Tea party.

It will be so nice to see them.

Last night Alvin and I were invited out for supper.

My friend “J” made this incredible spread ….. way too much yummy food.

We had a great visit, me, “J” and “A” ……

Alvin enjoyed playing with Jasmine’s plush toys.

He only has non-plush ones because given the opportunity he just chews on them until the threads break and the stuffing comes out.

Even the hard core ones that are supposed to be “chew proof” … not so much.

That boy of mine.

So instead he has a ball, his snowball and we play fetch with that……

He has some other toys but not a soft one in the bunch.

Maybe as he gets older he will not attack them so much and I can get him some softer toys.

 

One of the girls is bringing her youngest girl so that will be nice.

Alvin loves children.

Well I supposed I should get this show on the road.

Get spruced up and prepare the table for the tea party.

I am going to make a couple of goodies for the tea party even though my hostess is bringing some baked good.

There will be Steeped Tea’s “Coconut Key Lime Dip Mix” with fresh strawberries AND “GuacamolTEA” with Artisan Roasted Garlic & Black Bean Tortilla chips.

We will have fun and Alvin will enjoy the company.

He loves to be surrounded by women, go figure.

Well he is a guy after all?

Laughing aloud.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 10th day of April, 2016.

It is overcast, and if the forecast was correct it is only about 0 degrees with a high of plus 3  for the day.

Sure is strange how the temperatures fluctuate from day to day.

Yesterday was a mixture of sun and cloud and we even had a few drops of rain.

Not enough to do much good.

I am hoping for some rain as we dearly need the moisture.

 

We are looking forward to a relaxing Sunday.

Just a few things to do and then we can go for a walk and perhaps later watch a movie.

Alvin enjoyed the company we had for the TEA PARTY last night.

What a great way to spend a Saturday night.

We even SKYPED an old friend from work who moved away to England.

My first overseas SKYPE and it was awesome.

The only way to talk on the “telephone” so the speak.

 

Happy Sunday to you all.

I hope that you were able to sit and relax or walk and relax at some point this weekend as that is always important after a long work week.

Maybe your weekend does not fall on Saturday/Sunday but always remember to take some time for you.

Without you the world would not be the same.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 9th day of April, 2016.

Wow, so windy here in Edmonton, throughout the night and into the morning.

WINDY … WINDY ….. WINDY.

It felt like the roof was being blow off.

Certainly had Mr. Alvin on guard.

My little protector.

Well I managed to give Mr. Alvin a hair cut last night and it only took 1.5 hours followed by a bath.

YAY ….. now he looks great for our company tonight.

I will have to settle for the shower and a bit of make-up, no hair cut for me.

The sky is clouding over so perhaps the forecast for rain is correct.

Time will tell.

I am preparing for a tea party at my house tonight …. some friends from the office and some of her friends, too.

Should be fun.

We have a friend who moved to England and we are going to SKYPE her this evening.

Cannot make it to the tea party so we are taking the tea party to her.

Only thing is it will be in the middle of the night there …..

Time for some coffee to get me started … although I have already started my TO DO LIST.

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 8th day of April, 2016.

YAY, it is Friday morning and the weekend has arrived.

They are forecasting plus 20 degrees here in Edmonton today.

CRAZY for this time of year.

 

Yesterday Elton spent the day with Alvin.

After work I had the pleasure of going for a walk with both my boys.

It was great and something that I have not done for a long time.

I do walk with Alvin every night but Elton not for some time.

It was so nice.

They are different peas those two.

Elton is the distinguished older gentleman who can kick up his heels when he chooses.

Alvin on the other hand is the impatient cute middle aged one.

I loved having Elton here.

Good for me Alvin, as well.

Elton has this little trot when he walks.

He was running and so happy last night ….

Just like the old days …..

We had a great night and then as we were heading home we saw the Momma and Poppa coming down the sidewalk to meet us.

The kids were happy to see Elton and of course me and Alvin.

Beautiful night.

 

The tea order arrived and I had it sorted before supper.

I baked a cake for Saturday’s tea party.

Life is good.

Things are in order ……

Alvin gets a hair cut tonight after work so that should be fun.

I want him to look his best at the party tomorrow night.

 

Well looks like time to leave for work.

One more thing to share.

We had some extra time earlier this morning as Alvin decided to get up ultra early so we hit the sofa.

I must have fell right asleep as I started to dream.

I dreamt of my old co-workers mostly especially “G” and “L”  …. most the whole department was there.

When the timer went off on the microwave I literally jumped off the sofa ……

It was a great dream.

I was slim, trim and even had on a pencil skirt and heels.

Not my work attire these days.

 

Anyway time to fly.

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 11th day of March, 2016.

One more sleep until my darling daughter’s 36th Birthday …..

One more sleep until my first tea party of 2016 ……

No more sleeps until the weekend …..

The weather truly has been spring-like ….. with double digit temperatures.

YAY …….

 

I would like to mention something that I think is cute.

Both Wednesday and Thursday mornings on the bus ride to work; I noticed a Service Station that had the GAS PRICE POSTED at 8.888.  

Should have been 88.88.

I giggled the first morning and thought to myself “how long will it take before someone notices and the price is corrected.”

Well when I went by said station yesterday morning and saw the same price 8.888, I almost peed my pants.

I mean really …… no one noticed.

I did double and triple check because I thought my eyes were deceiving me.

Anyway one of those things.

But funny all the same.

With prices on the rise – they might want to correct that number.

 

I baked my daughter’s birthday cake last night and as she always reads my blog I will not reveal the kind.

Only thing I will say is that I made it 100% from scratch – no boxes were used.

It was a recipe that I have had since before she was born.

 

Well here were are almost time to get out and go to work.

Yesterday I decided to wear my spring jacket and although it is warm out …. I found not quite warm enough in the morning for my spring jacket especially wearing a short sleeved top underneath.

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 10th day of January, 2016.

A welcome sign this morning the sun is actually rising and the sky is somewhat clear this morning.

This winter the sky has been overcast so much that we miss seeing the sun shine.

With not having the sun shine it is actually depressing.

I know many people suffer from a type of depression when the sun does not shine from the lack of light.

Today we are good.

 

Yesterday was an awesome day my baby, my darling, my daughter came for a visit and surprised me and Alvin by bringing both Elton and Miss Penny along.

Our dear Penny is not the same energetic bouncy vocal girl she once was but that is what a serious disease will do to one.

Mr. Elton is in pretty good health other than his hearing and that makes for some interesting moments.

He cannot hear us and thinks we cannot hear him.

There are some things about getting old that I am not looking forward to …..

It was so great to have them all here with us and we ENJOYED IT SO MUCH.

The walls are still smiling and the air remains full of song this morning.

I made pancakes for we girls and afterwards we made jewellery.

Well actually my daughter made jewellery and I practiced making flowers.

I came up with the idea kind of in a day dream about making petals …. flowers.

Then ladies can place a drop of an essential oil on the flower ….. and it will be like having flowers with you.

Obviously you cannot just start making “flowers” to be used so it will take some practice.

I did make two and they look pretty good for the first time.

My daughter left me some clay so that I can practice.

I can tell you it is so relaxing and FUN.

In between our fun … I took a run (borrowed her car) to the grocery store.

It was a great day.

I felt like a million dollars with my family here with us.

I even managed to slip in a couple of loads of laundry throughout the day and early evening.

Alvin and I curled up on the sofa and watched a couple of movies that I had recorded and had the most relaxing evening.

The best Saturday ……

 

So on this Sunday there will be more laundry in my future.

I also want to call some folks and see about booking a tea party or two and secure some orders.

So phone calls also in my future.

So happy to see the sun shine.

The temperature is supposed to warm up so I can go for a walk with Mr. Alvin.

It has been a couple of very cold days so we did not go.

He did go in the back yard to bury his chew treat from time to time and take a run about.

Time for toast and coffee and perhaps banana to share with Mr. Alvin …. he is waiting.

Also share coffee with my neighbour ….. she buys the beans, I grind them and make coffee for us …. I make her a special one …. am I not the luckiest person.
