Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and  Welcome to Wednesday the 25th day of April, 2018.

As April winds down and Spring has definitely sprung; we are happy for the months ahead.

Summer: no socks, sandals, capris, sometimes shorts (not short shorts for me), light sweater or somedays just a top.

Happy Days.

So nice not to spend 5 minutes or so donning your outer apparel.

I saw a Robin the other day as I was chatting to a friend when we were out for out walk.

That was the first Robin that I had seen thus far this spring.

We usually have Robins by our home.

I have a bird house in the back yard.

Usually there are some of the smaller birds debating over who gets the house this year.

Most times the Magpies and the Crows scare the little ones away.

A handful of times I have had a Hummingbird in my backyard.

Oh, how I love those little ones.

So gorgeous.

Another creature that I love is the Dragonfly.

We used to see huge ones around our house at the front and the back.

The past couple of years they have all but disappeared.

Not sure why.

Here are a couple of photos, they were big.

Soon it will be time for planting flowers.

One of my favourite times of year.

I love to get my hands dirty.

I love to watch the flowers grow and show off their beautiful blooms.

All things baby soon.

Well time to get this show on the road.

Cute story.

This morning while I was brushing my teeth, Alvin was in the bathroom with me.

Cause where else would he be?

He sat there and just starred at me brushing my teeth.

I was so hoping that perhaps he could understand better when I was brushing his and perhaps let me really brush them well.

Not so much.

I brushed his right after mine.

He was more than happy to jump up onto the bed and lick his tasty toothpaste while I “brushed his teeth.”

I do get them brushed, most specially the front ones but the back ones are another story.

Just keep trying every day and have done this for the past 8 years.

Happy Wednesday.

Happy Spring.

Special Hello to: my friend “V”

Always, Carol & Alvin

(Somehow this appears not to have been published on Wednesday, so better late than never, I guess).

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 11th day of April, 2017.

Well we were up again with the birds – actually I think it was well before the birds.

4:08 a.m.

ARGH ………..

So Mr. Alvin eats and has a drink of water and of course, then outside.

So while he is outside he decides it is time to go digging by the fence in the mud to retrieve his chew treat.

ARGH, again, I say.

It took me 15 minutes to coax him into the house.

After he barked several times ……

He was not able to get his chew treat during that time but was able to be covered in mud.

So after several minutes of scrubbing him by the back door and feeling sort of comfortable that he was clean, I let him come into the kitchen.

After journalling and eating ….. he wanted to go outside.

I figured that he had not done his business as yet so I let him out.

BIG MISTAKE !!!

BIG !!

So he retrieved the black mud encrusted chew treat and was proudly holding it in his mouth.

Standing at the back door.

ARGH, again.

So I got my trusty wet fibre cloth and towel and carefully let him into the back door area …. even carefully the mud was falling all around him.

Not happy Momma and this was at 5:30.

Finally was able to grab a couple of blueberries from my breakfast and con him into dropping the chew treat and faster than an eagle I grabbed that mud infested chew treat and threw it into the

garbage can outside the back door.

Not happy Alvin.

Anyway long story short as now I am running late …..

He is clean and chew treat less for now.

Not too happy with the Momma, methinks.

Well time to go to work.

I hope that you all have an awesome Tuesday.

Hopefully not as early start as we …. but if you did I hope that you can at least smile ….. like me.

Even though I was not happy with the mud – I love me Alvin – no matter what.

He was just doing his thing.

Happy Tuesday.

Special Hello to: my friends and family all over the world including my globetrotting sister …..

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 16th day of November, 2016.

I have to apologize to my nephew “J” as I missed his Birthday yesterday on my blog.

Happy Happy Birthday – Wishing you a wonderful day.

*********************************************

Well we had an interesting night.

So happy that we had a nice long walk last night as there is snow on the ground this morning.

That is not to say that we do not walk most of the winter (depends on the temperatures).

Anyway we were in bed, gone early, and I was reading.

Alvin is not so much into reading. ( giggling aloud )

All of a sudden he start retching and then threw up.

I immediately jumped out of bed.

Grabbed his clean up stuff including paper towels.

Cleaned off his blanket and threw it into the wash.

Got another one of his blankets out of the closet.

Cleaned him up and brushed his teeth.

It only happened once and he seemed fine EXCEPT he would not go to sleep.

He basically was awake all night.

I know that I fell asleep off and on.

He would just sit up looking into the night.

Scratching and licking himself here and there.

Poor guy.

This morning he seems fine although he was shaking a bit at my breakfast time.

He ate his breakfast (no problem) and had some water.

He did his business outside.

He must be exhausted, I know that I am.

Not much sleep.

We have an off-site staff meeting today – I will have to check myself if I begin to yawn.

He also has a “Laser Light Therapy” session today.

Our Vet’s office has purchased the machine and today they are doing some free sessions to try things out in real time.

I have someone that is going to take Alvin to the office as I cannot.

I am certainly glad that he appears to be okay and I was worried earlier.

Appears that we have some snow.

Just a dusting.

Is winter here?

We certainly enjoyed our beautiful summer/early fall days in November.

Well almost time to hit the road.

I am so relieved that Alvin is feeling better or at least appears to be so.

Happy Wednesday.

I hope that you all have an awesome day.

Special Hello to: my family

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 4th day of July, 2013.

Happy 4th of July to all our Neighbours to the South ….. I wish you a day surrounded by your loved ones, filled with love and laughter.

Canada Day was July 1st and was on Monday.  I hope that each and every Canadian had a great day.

I have been under the weather over much of my vacation, and I hope that the antibiotics kick in, and this last few days are better.

Tomorrow I am going to host a garage sale.

Isn’t it amazing how you can have so much stuff that you do no need.

I haven’t even bought anything for the house in over two years and still have things I do not require.

I love garage sales.

Not only do you dispose of those unwanted items but you meet people and make some money.

How can you not love garage sales?

I also have found that as I get older I do not have the infinity of material things as much as when I was younger.

Such as it is …… that’s life.

Well it started out to be sunny with baby blue skies and now the sky is overcast.

We have had hot, hot weather this first week in July of 2013.

I hope that wherever you are that you are in great health ….. at the end of it all …. if you do not have great health how can you do anything.

I sure wished with all of my heart and soul and brain that I was in perfect health.

These past few days have been less than stellar.

I want to enjoy each day.

Time to change the focus and think of pink gums and healthy teeth ( I have an abscessed tooth) and before that had a sore throat and then lost my voice for seven days.

Oh the joys of life.

I am wishing for perfect health so that I may enjoy the rest of my vacation.

Time to go and have a shower so that I can start preparing for the garage sale.

Have a great day and I am already starting to feel better.

Me and Alvin did enjoy a walk by the lake this morning ….. the roses, OMG so beautiful …. they lifted me away.

I know that the rest of my vacation is going to be GREAT.

I should also add that I did enjoy the visit with my niece and her family over the long weekend.

Special Hello to: all those folks on vacation at this time …. I hope that you are having a blast.

Always, Carol and Alvin
