Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 6th day of October, 2014.

Day Number Six …… wow ….. one week until Thanksgiving for we Canadians.

Our Neighbours to the south it will be later in November.

I have so much to be thankful for ……

Being grateful ….. being thankful for me is a 365 day routine.

Each and every morning I write in a gratitude journal ….

I realized very early on that we should always be grateful for all that we have ….

Even when I did not have money to buy notebooks to write them down; I always have been a grateful person.

We are so blessed living in this country ….

I am so blessed to be living in this country, Canada.

I am grateful that I wake up in the morning and that my legs carry me down the stairs.

I am grateful that I have eyes to see everything that surrounds me in my life and ears to hear the cooing of babies and Alvin’s “talking.”

I am grateful that I am employed and that I have my very own house.

I am grateful that I had room for my kids to move in with me and Alvin while their home is being built.

I am grateful for Nature and the Seasons.

I am grateful that my sister telephoned me last night to chat.

I am grateful that I will be able to have a cup of coffee when I get to work this morning.

I am grateful that I am surrounded by loving and kind people.

I am grateful that I can create things.

I am grateful to be alive.

I am so grateful that you are reading these words right now.

I hope that you have the most wonderful day ever.

I hope that you have dreams and that they all come true.

I hope that you keep on dreaming.

Special Hello to: my sister whose call last night made the weekend perfection.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 15th day of May, 2014.

The sun is shining brightly in the sky after a raining night.

The grass is beginning to turn green and of course the leaves.

YAY, we are on our way.

I am so grateful that I have the best neighbours and friends.

Last night I stopped at one of our neighbour’s house to let them know the details of the clean-up.

“C” was so helpful and volunteered to do some extra things, I am so grateful.

Also my dear friend “L” from Regina called me last night and we chatted for 2.5 hours.

Yes, you heard it right …. somehow there is always a few months in between phone calls so we always make up for it.

She is one of those people who no matter how long the time in between calls/visits it is just like we talked yesterday.

I miss her.

I miss my friends in Regina.

Not sure why but Mr. Alvin would not settle down last night.

He did not appear to be sick but he did keep me up most of the night.

I am a bit on the tired side.

So happy that the sun is shining that will keep me pumped full of Vitamin D.

Check – reminder ….. to go for a walk on my breaks or at least one of them.

So on this Thursday I hope that you are surrounded by family and friends.

Perhaps lending a hand to someone in need or maybe even organizing a neighbourhood clean-up.

Always remember to call your friends and family.

Well time to got to work.

Happy Thursday.

Thanks again for reading my blog ….  I know your time is precious and I do very much appreciate your time.

Special Hello to: my BF “L” …… such a great visit last night via the telephone ….. not cell ….. the old fashioned one…

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 11th day of November, 2013.

Two important things this morning.

Happy Birthday to a special nephew of mine ” T ” … such a great young man.

We are not blood related but he feels like family.

I have known him since he was in his Momma’s womb and I have loved him since the first time I laid eyes on him.

We always shared this special connection.

We would go for coffee together on prearranged days when I lived in Regina.

Now that I have moved he calls me on a regular basis.

I want to wish him the best BIRTHDAY ever.

Happy Birthday my boy.

The other important thing is “Remembrance Day” ….

I think it is important to remember those from the past who gave their lives to keep us safe.

I think it is important to acknowledge those souls who keep the peace today.

I think it is important to relish peace and remember that not everyone on this planet has that luxury – that way of life.

I think it is important to work on peace.

I think it is important to live your life in peace.

I think it is important to always remember.

Special Hello to: every peacekeeper whether in uniform or not…

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Wednesday Morning and Welcome to the 22nd day of May 2013 ….

How are you this beautiful morning?

I am absolutely fantastic.

I had a great evening last night.

My little brother telephoned me ….. yes, the old fashioned way.

We talked for over 1.5 hours ….. so great to hear from him.

They do not live far away from me but yet our lives keep us busy and apart.

He is such a joy and it was great touching base with him.

Hearing all his news and what’s been keeping him busy.

We are close …. me and my siblings …. we just happen not to see each other often.

I think you can be close and not see each other daily.

I hope that you had a great night.

Did you do something that you love to do?

Did you relax?

Have the best day ever ….

Happy Day ….

Special Hello to: YOU  ….. you rock.  Did I tell you that before?  Also I appreciate you so much.  Thank you for being you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday, January 7th, 2013 …..

The start of a new week.

Last night I was dreaming of my friends back in Regina ….. it has been awhile since I have seen them, and was thinking of them.

Thinking of special events and such.

I treasure all of my friendships new and old.

Some of my friends I have known since I was a toddler and I am now fifty-five….. so really all of my life.

I am so grateful to have such wonderful friends.

I am blessed as I am able to keep in touch with most of them via social media ….. like FB and now can SKYPE with them as well.

So on this day …. take time to think of your friends …. perhaps send them an email or give them a phone call.

I wish all of my friends everywhere a great day.

I miss you and hope to perhaps see you this summer ……

Take care everyone and have a great day.

Special Hello: to FRIENDS, mine and yours ……. you rock.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

I was going through my 3000 + emails in my hotmail mailbox this morning,  and was re-reading comments from my friends and family about my BLOG, some about Facebook and some just life.  For some reason, I tend to think of emails as letters, and have a hard time deleting them.  So I made some folders and “saved” the important ones.  The others I deleted.  I only got through about  maybe 300.  It is a big job.  Being a sentimentalist is a FULL TIME job.  Really it is.  As I read all of the kind words and stories that were brought on by the stories on my blog – I realized that “I AM TRULY THE MOST BLESSED PERSON ON THE PLANET”.   When someone tells you that your words brings tears to their eyes or a smile to their face or laughter to their soul, you know that you are truly blessed.  The night before last I was having a “small pity party” …. for one.  Unfortunately Alvin had to listen to the rants and raves and tears of a “semi depressed woman”.   But I am pleased to report that it only lasted for a short time.  It happened just when I went to bed.  You know when the house is quiet (because I forgot to turn on the dishwasher) and the furnace had not cut in just yet ….. anyway it happens.  All is well – great in fact.  I am back on track.  Just wanted to share that with you.  To prove that I am human, too.  We all are.  If you are extra blessed, and have a companion that speaks your language (not Alvin, he speaks dog and I have yet too figure it all out, LOL) you can bounce things off that person (I do not mean, like a vase or anything) but your thoughts and feelings.  I have Alvin in bed beside me at night and although I love him to pieces – he has not figured out how to articulate “it will be okay, Mama so please just go to sleep” ……  He is pretty smart so perhaps one day he will.  Okay, I got off track here.

The thought for this day is really that if you are surrounded by friends and family whether they are down the street or a province away …… you are not alone.  There is email, Facebook, Skype and the good old reliable “telephone” so no excuses not to reach out.  Even if it is 10:00 at night – if you need someone – remember to call.

Have a great great great day EVERYONE.  You are all so important to me.  I shall meet you in my dreams.  We will hook up at the BIG log cabin in the mountains – in front of a roaring fireplace – laughter filling the room and we shall all be sipping on hot cocoa (or baileys) as we gaze out of the wall sized windows onto the most incredible scenery in the world.  So until then, I am going for a cup of coffee.  As I sit on the sofa sipping on my coffee, I shall gaze out my living room windows to the street where the snow banks are higher than the rooftop of most of the cars that are parked across the street from my house…..and I shall think ……. isn’t life GRAND.

Love Always, Carol
