2021

Good Morning ALL! Well we made it through another night. One of us who shall remain nameless (ME) had to get up and go to the bathroom and then the young one was awake. She did pretty good and better when we went downstairs to the sofa. She seems to like the main floor better, not sure why. She spent most of the night on the cushioned bench at the end of our bed. OH, today we are at THREE SLEEPS until CHRISTMAS EVE. YAY. Almost there. I found out yesterday when my daughter dropped by at noon that her BF will be joining us on Christmas Eve. I cannot remember the last time we had someone join the three amigos on Christmas Eve. We are excited to say the least. Oh and just to add: Cookie peed last night but a bit missed the pee pad and ended up on my white rug (yes, the rug in my bedroom). She did better. So more cleaning done.

Well it has been an interesting couple of days or not quite that yet with little Cookie. Yesterday we peed on the mat at the foot of the stairs that was covering a yoga mat making Alvin’s landing when he comes downstairs easier and going up gives him courage. Anyway, it was a “pad” of sorts, so what can you do. So the mat got an extra wash. All good as new. She pooped on the pad at noon which was great. How is it that my life always seems to revolve around POOP? OMG, I guess it is an important function of most life forms on this planet. In some way, shape or form. LOL. Anyway, things are getting better. She seems more calm. This morning she ate a bit more of Alvin’s hard food. A bit later I will try some of her wet food and see what happens. She is drinking lots of water and everything is coming out the back end, lol. I love how she lays beside me on the sofa with Alvin on the other side. We are settling in.

She has disappeared somewhere so I had better cut this short. Alvin is in his regular spot right outside the office door.

I wish you a great December 21st, 2021. The big day is almost here. I cannot wait.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience (definitely working on this one), love, laughter, understanding and gratitude.

Always, Carol, Alvin and Cookie.

P.S. Puppies always teach me to be patient as do older dogs. A good lesson to learn and practice.

Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning All.

Well it is late.

I cannot say that I have slept in this late for years.

Went to bed at midnight and could not sleep right away.

Still a bit hyped up from the Fifth Avenue Jewelry party.

Alvin and I had so much fun.

My friends from the neighbour joined us to check out the bling and for refreshments.

We chatted in between and enjoyed some laughter.

Two almost teenage daughters of two friends joined as well.

Alvin was in his glory.

So much fun.

Yes, there is nothing like being surrounded by your good friends and bling.

The jewelry is / was so pretty.

Great night.

Perhaps it was the fact that I had drank coffee all day long.

I hadn’t realized that until bed.

I drank a pot in the morning and another mug with my daughter at noon followed by coffee in the evening.

Oh well, I likely needed that sleep.

We were up just after 5:00 a.m. initially so I fed Alvin and then we went back to bed.

He did try to get me up a couple of times after that as well but I won out.

We woke to another “dry ground” morning which is great.

So glad that I worked my butt off yesterday and did my household making today a more relaxed quiet day.

Yesterday I cleaned, had both Humphrey and Teddy for the whole day, walked with Teddy and Alvin, prepared for the jewelry party and did laundry.

Always nice to have the THREE AMIGOS together.

Earlier yesterday morning.

Alvin and Teddy went outside but Humphrey hesitated.

Wonder why?

I saw a blue jay, I think through the living room window but unable to get a clear photo of the pretty bird.

All the boys at the window.

Alvin and Teddy sharing a chair and Humphrey with one of his own.

Earlier in the day …..

Strangely enough they spent a bit of time outside over the course of the day.

When the sun shone it was actually comfortable outside, I won’t go as far as to say “warm.”

Today perhaps a load of towels …. or maybe not.

I have lots of towels.

But next weekend is putting up my Christmas tree and decorating the house.

First weekend in November, 2019.

So excited.

I cannot wait.

I so love spending the evening with my daughter putting up the Christmas tree.

That might be Friday.

Halloween this week.

YAY.

I was checking out my borrowed Harry Potter costume.

I might have to practice making the lightning bolt on my forehead.

Liquid eyeliner here I come.

Well I should go.

Time for coffee before lunch.

Today I don’t want to be drinking coffee all day.

Work is tomorrow.

Happy Sunday.

So happy to be surrounded by much kindness and respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time.

Hello, Oh it is a lovely morning here in Edmonton.

There was NO frost on the windshields this morning.

The sun is up and the sky is blue.

What a glorious day it is and will be.

Me and Alvin slept in as we were up early yesterday morning.

That is not to say that we were not up during the night and then around 5 a.m. for someone’s breakfast.

But we did not get up to stay up until a bit later …. just nice to lay about and dream and think …..

As you know Teddy spent Friday night yesterday with us.

We had a good day.

The boys played.

We went for a nice walk.

Crunching some leaves along the way.

I managed to get laundry and some cleaning done and one more thing but will show the photos.

Humphrey joined us in the late afternoon.

It was just me and the boys.

In some ways it is pretty sad that I am always at home on a Saturday night alone except for a minimum of one fur baby.

But on the other hand, I love being at home.

The trees are looking out from my front door.

I just loved the different colours of each tree, so pretty.

Halloween has arrived at my house.

One of my fav times of year.

The THREE AMIGOS just hanging out.

Alvin would not drop that chew treat.

It was a quiet day at the house.

We did have a knock at the door after supper.

It was the little boys from two doors down with their JENGA game.

I asked them if we could play tomorrow afternoon.

They are coming at 1:00 p.m.

A good weekend.

Well time to go and have a cup of coffee.

Wishing you all a Happy Sunday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 29th day of January, 2017.

Looking like another beautiful day.

The sky is mainly overcast but the sunrise is peering through.

Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous here in Edmonton.

Alvin and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit with my daughter and the pups.

Alvin and Aspen are still figuring things out.

Aspen wants to play so badly with Alvin.

Yesterday, at one point we were up in my office and they had some “playful moments.”

Her size kind of intimidates Alvin but he tried.

Alvin would bark and Aspen would bark because he was barking.

Then he would playful chase her but remember she is quite big and almost took out a table that I have in my office.

So cute to watch.

He tried to do “the thing” you know ….. he’s a guy and she’s a girl or at least that is what it looked like ….

Milo just stood beside us and barked when they barked.

Of course, remember he is only 5 pounds.

We had a great visit and look forward to the next one.

We even took them all for a walk.

Looking so cute walking down the street.

Our three Amigos or at least trying to be.

Left to Right: Aspen, Baby Milo and Alvin.

Now Baby Milo has grown and is now 5 pounds.

Despite the barking which if my neighbours were home would not have been great.

Thankfully it did not last too long.

In time they will all be best buds.

Alvin is the oldest and it is definitely taking him the longest.

I guess that is true for older humans, as well.

Young ones learn quickly for the most part and the old ones well it sometimes takes a bit before they are comfortable.

Nothing wrong with either scenario.

Well time to get this ship on the water or time to get this show on the road.

We have had a great weekend thus far and have another busy day ahead.

Time for Alvin to have another haircut and bath.

We have or rather I have lots to do mainly some items but a lengthy list so time to get started.

Have an awesome Sunday.

Remember no matter who you are if you are meeting someone new it is okay to take your time getting to know them.

Taking your time is okay.

Relationships are not to be rushed.

Happy Sunday.

Almost February and then S-P-R-I-N-G …….. wonderful.

Our winter has been good but spring is always most welcomed.

Special Hello to: You, remember you rock.

Always, Carol and Alvin
