Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 8th day of September, 2015.

Dark out ….. dry on the deck …. no rain overnight.

Wow, Tuesday already …. so great to have a long weekend.

I am so grateful that I was able to spend some of it with my dear friend “P” from Regina.

We had such a great visit.

Now today back to the regular routine …..

Work …. home ….. work …. HOME …..

We are so wrapped in routine we humans.

In fact, I would say that most of us are most happiest when we are in a routine.

When we get up at the same time, eat at the same time, work at the same time …..sleep at the same time.

It is a circle that for the most part keeps us the most happiest.

If you think about it having your life in a regular schedule/routine helps you to do what you needs to be done.

At least it works for me.

There I go again …. back to the “TO DO LISTS.”

But really …. they do work.

Whenever you have things to do write them down.

As you complete them …. check off ….. DONE.

We/I/You will have a sense of accomplishment.

Even if it is just emptying the dishwasher.

Trust he it feels like you actually did something.

Well I can hear the sidewalk calling my name …..

Now that I have to wear a jacket and “shoes” ….. need a couple extra minutes to put the final touches on before I leave the house.

Have a Happy Tuesday.

Special Hello to: my friend “M” …. thank you for your thoughtful comments and your “work” is amazing.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 4th day of December, 2014.

How did that happen?

It seems like only yesterday it was Monday or perhaps I am dreaming.

That is definitely a possibility with my current schedule.

Somehow I am managing to remain focused, and do what I need to do.

Poor Alvin is not quite sure what to think.

Oh well, that is life.

You have to think positive and visualize your dreams coming true.

I will be honest that the visualizing takes some work ( I know it does for me).

I can think the thoughts and be grateful for all that I have but when it comes to visualizing those thoughts coming true well it takes work.

That is okay.

If everything came to us with just an easy thought …… how quickly would be become bored and docile.

No matter what, we have to work for the things that we want.

Doesn’t mean that you have to work hard just means that you have to work.

Well back to the office …… tonight to the store.

I hope that you are checking off those items on your TO DO LISTS.

My list is getting there.

YAY.

I hope that you have a wickedly great Thursday …… sounds good right!

Thank you once again for reading my blog and sharing your thoughts, it is most appreciated.

Happy Thursday.

Special Hello to: my great niece through marriage …. Happy Birthday “E-K”

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 31st and final day of March, 2014.

Ah, the last day ever of March, 2014.

Here we are at the end of the third month of 2014.

How has this year been for you thus far?

Are you working on your bucket list?

Did you make resolutions for the New Year?

Are you dreaming big?

Did you make a TO DO List for the New Year?

Whatever you are doing …. at least you are moving forward.

Now isn’t that a great direction to be going?

My daughter gave me some life and business calendars for this New Year.

I partially completed them …..

I plan to pull them out this week and start writing.

You have to start somewhere.

I did do something that was on my recent TO DO List and that was to SKYPE with my sister.

Last night as soon as I got home from work (stopped by and picked up Alvin from his sister’s house and walked home, exercise for us both, YAY) I put supper in the oven and called my sister.

She filled me in on all the things that they did while vacationing in VEGAS recently and the temperatures.

So great to talk to her ….. get caught up with everything back “home.”

No matter what the size of something that you crossed off your list just remember this “it is still something.”

I hope that you keep making lists and dreaming and crossing items off the list.

Have a great last day of March, 2014.

YAHOO ….. now APRIL.

I hope that April will be filled with warmer temperatures and lots of sunshine.

Special Hello to: my family …. I miss you all.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….. December 18, 2013

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 18th day of December, 2013.

WOW, one week today is Christmas Day.

I hope that this finds you well and up for the next week of last minute shopping, wrapping of gifts, a tad more baking and COOKING.

I guess sweeping the floors and cleaning the bathrooms might be in order as well.

Have to have the house right and proper for company.

You know …… bright and shining.

Clean …. clean ….. clean.

I love my house and any chance to show it off …..

With all my Christmas decorations it is so pretty …. if I do say so myself.

Oh, great idea …… if you have not done so already ….. MAKE A LIST.

You know how Santa makes a list and checks it twice.

You can make a couple of lists.

One for shopping and one for tasks.

Shopping would be like food items and last minute gifts (don’t forget to make something – doesn’t always have to be store bought).

Tasks like dusting, changing bedding in the guest room … last minute laundry.

One big thing and for years I have always forgot to do this.

It would seem that when I make my last grocery stop I always make up the list for the items we need for Christmas Eve and Day but I forget one MAJOR THING …..

WHAT DO YOU EAT AFTER CHRISTMAS?

Not everyone wants to eat leftovers for the next week.

So I do try to make sure that I have other items in the house for something different.

Happy Wednesday.

Special Hello to: all my fellow sisters of the world, REJOICE …. YOU ROCK.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 28th day of November, 2013.

WOW, less than one month until Christmas.

Happy Thanksgiving to our neighbours to the south.

I hope that you all have a safe and wonderful holiday.

Can you believe it, less than one month till Christmas.

They are already starting to televise the Christmas shows.

YAY.

Some years it is the middle of December before they come on t.v.

This year early ….. I am happy about that.

Gets us all in the holiday spirit.

So on this day …. I hope that with lists in tow you can begin to tackle your holiday tasks.

Just remember …. TO DO LISTS …. are a good thing.

You can see what you have done and also you do not miss anything.

Happy Thursday …..

Special Hello: to my fellow American bloggers ….. Happy Thanksgiving.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday and the first day of September, 2013.

Wow, it is a beautiful “summer” day here in Edmonton.

Yesterday morning when my daughter was over for coffee I had a “light bulb” moment of sorts.

It is funny how different generations use things differently.

Here are our different methods of keeping track of appointments and to do lists.

My day planner .... keeper of the lists.

My day planner …. keeper of the lists.

The modern method, the trusted “I PHONE”

I have found that when you write down everything that you wish to do in a day or a specific time frame and then as each task is completed you cross them off of the list; it gives you a sense of accomplishment.

So try it and see what happens.

You will feel so great.

My daughter noted that on my “to do list” that I even had “coffee with her” and why not.

Then at the end of the day you are reminded that in between all of the work you had a lovely break with your special girl.

So I invite you to try the “list thing out” … doesn’t matter whether it is on paper or on your I PHONE.

Have a great Sunday.

I am going to go and enjoy coffee with my daughter before going to work at the mall.

Thank you for reading my blog.

I hope that you are also enjoying my story – one line at a time.

Special Hello to: all those bloggers you rock and thank you for sharing your stories.

Always, Carol and Alvin
