Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 23rd day of June, 2018.

A beautiful morning.

The sun is shining and there is a breeze which at this time remains cool.

We had a nice “storm” last night with a good rain and lots of thunder.

Thankfully the pups are not frightened of the those loud claps of thunder.

We managed to get a walk in before the downpour.

When we left the house it had not felt hot until we were half way through our walk and that was when Alvin decided it was time to go home.

So home we went.

We had a good night.

I watched a couple of movies and played with the pups.

All three of us slept great last night.

We were all up at 6:20 a.m. – YAY.

Breakfast was odd.

Teddy ate some of Alvin’s food and not his own and Alvin ate Teddy’s.

No harm no foul.

Everyone ate.

Teddy is not a breakfast eater for the most part so having had some of Alvin’s at least he ate.

Tonight I will make him the remainder of his food for supper before his Momma comes to pick him up.

We have had a lovely time.

One minor accident this morning but it was fixable.

Things happen.

Alvin has his regular appointment at the Vet this morning at 10:30 so Teddy will be coming with us.

Almost time for coffee (after I make it of course).

I can almost smell it.

Today will be laundry and cleaning.

THE NORWEX order arrived yesterday so I will sort it today to be delivered.

We are most grateful to live this life.

There are a few “downs” along the way but when I see what other people are living with and through; I cannot help but feel so much peace and gratitude.

I have been blessed with good health, supportive and wonderful family and friends.

I have a house, yes my very own home in partnership with the bank at the moment but in time I will OWN it.

I have me Alvin, who is the best partner one could ever ask for..

I have a full-time job and several part-time ones that I enjoy.

I can write to you every day.

I can dream or not.

I can be me.

So as we travel down the road during our days on this earth – if we are able to just be ourselves – our true selves, that is the most wonderful blessing of all.

Happy Saturday Everyone.

Back to my Saturday, coffee, the pups and LAUNDRY ……

Special Hello to: Everyone who takes the time to read my words, it means so much to me.  I hope that perhaps some day you learn a little something but most of all I hope that they bring a smile to your

face and warmth to your heart.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 28th day of December, 2017.

The sun is up and shining brightly.

Still a cold day.

Thank you to our friend and neighbour for driving me and Alvin to his appointment yesterday.

This cold weather has put me in hibernation mode.

I just feel like sleeping.

I have decided that in order to get to things that I am going to take down the Christmas decorations.

Sometimes I leave everything up until well in January and other times I have taken things down before New Year’s Day.

This may be the earliest.

Oh well, that way I can clean as I put things away and will have the weekend to do some visiting.

The sky is beautiful although a ridge of deep blue purple coloured clouds just slipped over the bright sun.

I think that Alvin is growing restless ….. we cannot wait until the warmer weather arrives.

It is in the forecast for next week, thank goodness.

New Year’s Eve is fast approaching.

Three sleeps.

2017 out and 2018 in.

Have you thought about what you would like to do specially for 2018?

Are you planning to travel?

Are you planning to do some renovations?

Are you planning to read more?

Are you planning to cook more healthy food?

Are you planning to exercise more?

I believe at the end of it all, most of us would just like to be in good health, happy and be surrounded by good people.

While I am taking down the Christmas decorations I am going to ponder what to do, to be in 2018.

Sounds like a plan.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day and that you are warm, safe and happy.

Special Hello to: my friends and family all over the world.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 27th day of May, 2015.

Another gorgeous morning here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

I am so reminded of life’s simple pleasures this morning.

As I sat at the kitchen table and looked onto the deck at all the flowers I had planted.

The colours melted my heart and brought me joy.

A bit later Mr. Alvin was out on the deck doing his Al thing …. walking about.

At one point I was looking out at him and he was looking back at me with his head peering over the top of a flower pot.

Writing in my gratitude journal each morning … I have so much to be thankful for …..

It is these things that bring me joy ….

It is these things that make me happy …..

It is the simple things in life ….

Not complicated ……

Just a moment when simple beauty actually seems to stop time ….

It has been one of those mornings.

Somedays one may think that oh I don’t have a car or perhaps I do not travel.

But it was just over one half hour ago that I was reminded that I truly have more than I need.

I am happy …..

I pass this onto you ….

Take a look around ….. it is  most likely that you have much more than you think to be thankful for and that you are surrounded by joy and happiness ….. do not make it complicated …… for it is simple ….. it just is.

Time to get on my way …..

Happy Wednesday ….

Special Hello to: my friends back in Regina ….. have a wonderful day.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 18th of April, 2015.

The sun is shining and the temperature is mild and the wind is BLOWING.

We have had quite the breezes the past few days.

Well this is our first weekend with no house guests.

The second weekend where I do not go to work at the store.

It feels strange on both counts.

Alvin and I are settling in ….. it is very quiet.

I can hear the echoes of his footsteps, and my voice throughout the house.

Another chapter closed and another opened.

Yesterday I did laundry and some moving things back into my bedroom and regular cleaning.

I had coffee with my friend “G” and that was nice to do on a Friday afternoon.

Alvin and I enjoyed a walk ….. it was strange without my daughter and the pups along.

We got out and back just before it started to rain….perfect timing.

We slept in …. just lying there …… mind drifting off ….. to places ….. to people.

Today my daughter was coming back for one last load of odds and ends.

I found a few things that have to go as well.

There are always those items that miss the boxes.

So today, to do:

1.  make a list of everything that I have to do over the next month

2.  check on Aussie the cat

3.  perhaps rake the front lawn (or wait until next Saturday when the ground has thawed more)

4.  make fudge for my friend’s little guy who is celebrating a birthday, and happens to love my fudge …..

5.  go for a long walk with Mr. Alvin

6.  RELAX

One more day until back to work and oh has it been wonderful being at home.

Well that kitty is waiting …. she needs some company.

Almost forgot about breakfast.

COFFEE …..

Well here we go …… it will be easier by next weekend when the schedule is in place.

I do love my house when it is filled with voices, barks, love and laughter.

I do love my house when it is filled with us.

They will come back for visits and maybe even sleepovers ….. at least for sure the puppies, will.

Happy Saturday.

Here we go.

Life carries on.

I am so blessed.

With the wind in my sails I will go.

With Alvin at my side I will never be alone.

Happy Saturday.

Special Hello to: my family and friends …. time to be making some phone calls……and video chats…. SKYPE…anyone.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 4th day of November, 2013.

How are you this beautiful Monday morning?

I am doing great.

Even with the time change.

Funny how yesterday morning I awoke with endless energy and way earlier than usual.

I was shovelling before 8:00 a.m.

Oh well, still energized feeling like it is a Monday morning.

Looking forward to that first cup of coffee.

The first one is always the best.

Isn’t that true about most things in life.

The first one always seems to be perfection.

I guess it is the anticipation. If you could have one just one WISH come true at this very moment, what would it be?Would you wish for: everlasting good health, extra money, perhaps a tropical vacation or WORLD PEACE?

Pretend it is your one wish time.

Visualize with all your heart and good energy – see yourself healthy, see yourself buying the items you need or want, see yourself laying on a beach by the ocean and envision everyone happy on the planet.

Makes you feel good right!

Well on that note time to finish getting ready for work.

Have a great Monday.

You Rock.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. love you sis… 🙂

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Whenever possible spend the day with your loved ones.

My family (Alvin, Amanda, Steven, Elton & Penny) and I went on a little adventure today.

Despite some slightly unpleasant moments and feeling sorry about them …… we endured and had a lovely day.

The thing is,  poor little Al does not “enjoy” riding in the car.  Despite his Mom’s attempts (gravol), he threw up on our way to Pembina River Provincial Park.  Thank goodness someone’s “Mother” always is prepared.

We had an awesome picnic, and hiked up the nearby “mountain” to look at the river below, breath-taking, for sure.   Took some photos and  enjoyed the car ride.

We stopped at some other hot spots on our way back to Edmonton.  Seba Beach (not sure of the spelling) – enjoyed looking at the beautiful beach side homes/cottages (we decided that is where we want to have a cottage/beach house), and Alberta Beach (where dogs are not allowed on the beach).  Oh, we even stopped by Penny’s birthplace.  Very cool.

We are going to research and find places that are “puppy friendly” for our next adventure.

But despite Alvin’s motion sickness or phobia about riding in cars, we had a great day.

I love spending time with my family including the “four legged ones”.

So my thought for the day is this: SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY OR PEOPLE THAT YOU LOVE.  GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING YOU DO NOT NORMALLY DO……AND JUST ENJOY.

I had the BEST TIME !

Tomorrow is Chapter 2 of the Lewis/Hobbs Garage Sale.  I believe that we will sell everything this go round !!

Till tomorrow …….

Always, Carol

Thought for the day…….

Thought for this Thursday is:  We are truly blessed, and so fortunate to live in such a magnificent country.

I think that somedays we forget ……. taking it for granted, but just turn on your television and listen to the news…..

So for today…….remember to be grateful for our CANADA.

Be proud to be a Canadian.

Remember what being a true Canadian means.

We are compassionate, friendly, intelligent, hard-working, helpful, fun, creative  people.

That are so grateful to live in such an awesome country from the Pacific to the Atlantic.

Have a great day.

Always, Carol

P.S.  if you are getting the travel bug this summer, GO SEE CANADA.

We have the most beautiful scenery in all the world.  Places relatively untouched by “tourists”…..
