Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 30th and second last day of August, 2014.

It is bright and sunny here in Edmonton as we approach noon – one hour away.

The kids are off to Canmore and I had a wonderful visit with my neighbour “So” …… she is Miss Aussie’s Mom….

Me and the puppies are hanging out.

Doing laundry and housework and also high on the priority list is cleaning out the bathroom fans.

Isn’t it funny how one never seems to notice when they are clean but once they become “dusty” ….. your eyes naturally are averted there.

Oh well.

I am so excited for supper as my friend who is more like a sister and her daughter and grand-daughter (niece and great-niece) are visiting from Regina.

They are in Edmonton to do some back to school shopping at our “WEST EDMONTON MALL” ……. it will be busy there today for sure.

Last weekend before most of the kids go back to school.

I am so excited to see them.

“H” will likely be taller than me now ….. she turned 12 this summer.

Well my darlings I am off to get some laundry done and then fetch the ladder to clean the three bathroom fans.

I wish you all a happy and safe long labour day weekend.

Thank you for reading my blog.

Special Hello:  to all those who are travelling drive carefully …. no texting or talking on the mobile phones when you are driving. We want you back safe and sound.  Enjoy your travels.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 24th day of March, 2014.

Temperatures warming up and I for the third day in a row I am wearing shoes outside.

I love it when you can just slip on your shoes and go.

No boots and carrying shoes.

Just slip on and go.

How wonderful.

It is amazing how much extra time and effort it takes to get dressed to leave the house in the winter time.

Anyway, I am one happy girl.

Even Mr. Alvin can go without a jacket or at least not a heavy one.

I can see the earth in most places.

Still a few banks and some ice but for the most part a few plus days and it should be gone.

Just think in a few weeks or so we should see buds on the trees and people will begin to plant some flowers.

All of the greenhouses will have their plants out ready for purchase.

I absolutely love going to the greenhouses whether it is the family owned one just outside of the city or the one at Canadian Tire …. I love to check out the flowers …. the colours …. the smells.

Oh what a fantastic time to be alive.

You can just feel the relief and the wonderment of this time of year.

Everyone big and small is ready.

Ready to go for nice long walks …

Ready for late sunsets.

Ready for dips in the lake.

Ready to go camping.

Ready to do some gardening.

Ready to clean up their yards.

Ready to get outside.

So on this first day of the week …

I hope that this finds you thinking and working on preparing for summer.

Always a good time to go through your closets and “storage containers.”

I hope that you are generous.

Do you really need five black skirts?

Have a great day.

Special Hello to: my sister who is arriving back home today from Vegas…… hope you had a great time.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 5th day of February, 2014.

WOW, we are certainly in a bit of a cold snap.

I am hopeful that it will end soon.

It is making both me and Alvin want to hibernate.

Although this morning I woke up five minutes before the alarm went off and even before Alvin “paws” me to wake up.

I wonder if  other countries in the winter people just want to eat and sleep;  sleep and eat.

I wonder if animals dream when they hibernate.

Ah, me Alvin, so cute as he is lying on his side on the hallway floor just outside my office.

I sure love the little guy …..

Well despite the cold it is off to work …. that is okay …. I am grateful to have an inside job.

That sounds weird.

Oh well …..

Have a great day folks.

Remember to smile and have a laugh or five.

Tell a joke …. think of something that makes you smile.

Thanks for reading my blog …. I appreciate you so much.

Special Hello to: all those folks travelling …… be safe.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to a Rainy Monday, the 15th day of July 2013.

Well here we are once again …. the beginning of the work week.

I think that for most of us ….. it is a continuous loop …. no beginning or ending.

It seems to work out better ….. Sunday nights no longer keep me up thinking about the week ahead.

Sometimes I don’t sleep but for different reasons.

Part of it comes from my age.  Okay, we will not go there ….. because everyone knows “M” for us older women.

I am so lucky, blessed and grateful to be working at Bath & Body Works at West Edmonton Mall.

So many people from all over the world visit us there.

Yesterday we had a family visiting from South America.

They were visiting their other grown daughter who just had a baby …. the first grand-baby on both sides of the family.

Such a wonderful family….. I had so much fun helping them and visiting with them.

I have met people from every corner of the planet and perhaps someday I will have the opportunity to visit their countries.

If you could go anywhere on the planet where would you go?

Have you travelled away from your home country?

Or at you like me …. do most of your travelling via others and over the internet.

Thank goodness for technology …..

On Saturday I got my very first “smaller” version of a personal computer – “a tablet” …. very cool and a brand new digital camera.

The camera fits in the palm of my hand and now when Alvin and I go for walks I can easily put it in my pocket so that I can take photos and videos.

I know …. I am very lucky …..

So on this overcast rainy Monday morning I hope that you enjoy your cup of coffee – or glass of juice or maybe tea …..

Put a smile on your face …..

Close your eyes and travel the globe.

I am going to do that on my break…… yay.

Special Hello to:  everyone who enjoys a challenge …… “new technology” ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday, the 25th day of June, 2013.

How are you this fine morning?

All ready to start the day?

Are you energized?

Are you feeling happy?

Are you feeling in great health?

Are you grateful for feeling all of the above, which I know that you are ……

READY – GET SET – GO

Go forth and spread good cheer ….. smile and be happy.

Remember it all begins with you ….. you are the one …..

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing …… make it count.

I feel great ….

I am energized.

I am happy.

I am feeling in great health.

I am going to smile and be the best me that I can possibly be today.

Thank you for being the best you.

Have the most exquisite day.

You are worthy and deserving ….. always remember that …..

Special Hello to: all those family and friends travelling this summer to see loved ones.  Have a great time.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday, the 11th day of June 2013.

Almost officially summer ……

Alvin and I went out for a walk.  It was gorgeous …. sun coming up ….

Now the sky is starting to cloud over …… oh, springtime!

Well I am super excited for tonight as my nephew is stopping by on his way back to work.

He is a directional driller.

We will have supper and he will spend the night.

I am the halfway point from his home to work.

We will have a great visit as always.

Do you have a special niece or nephew?

I have both and in multiples.

Well Mr. Alvin is barking ….

So thought for the day…..

“Spend as much time as you can with the people you love.”

Nice and simple …. plain and good.

Have a wonderful day.

Special Hello to:  YOU ….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Yay, today is Tuesday, February 28th, 2012.

This is a special February because we have one extra day …..

Well it is official …. I heard that we broke the record for the most snowfall in one day.

We definitely have more from that one snowfall than we have had all this winter combined.

It is strange to see so much snow after seeing the bare ground for a number of weeks.

Oh well, that is winter on the prairies in Canada….. you never know.

I think Mother Nature likes to spice things and that is why we never know ahead of time what the weather truly will be like.

At least I would like to think so….

So on this Tuesday …. (which is a short work week for me, I am so excited)…… I have been thinking of how blessed I am.

Like most people there are moments when I think “ugh, why me? or things were going so good” …….

Well we do have a choice ….. things will go great if you choose them to do so.

I have had my share of ups and not quite so up …. but at the end of the day …… my life has been pretty great.

I have travelled all over North America, have amazing friends all over the world, a family that is so wonderful …. it makes me breathless, my own home, my faithful companion Mr. Alvin (my dog) and I am in good health.

There is a list that is too long to blog but I think you get the idea.

We do have a lot to be thankful for and on each day we should always take the time to be grateful.

Also, I am so grateful for you …. thankful, that you took the time to read my blog …. to share in my life’s experiences.  Thank you.

Special Hello:  to my “readership” …… you all rock…

Always,  Carol and Mr. Alvin ……

P.S. I am still striving to hit the one million readers and am happy for each one along the way.
