Thought for the day……

Welcome to Monday,February 6th, 2012.

Happy Birthday to everyone born on this 6th day of February.

When I was performing a clean sweep of my office yesterday …. I came across pictures painted by my great niece, great nephew and some dear family friends and neighbours (who have moved away almost one year ago).

These are my treasures and although I physically cannot keep them all …… I selected one from each child to treasure for all time.

They were proudly displayed on my office walls for “years”.

I think that items such as these are the hardest to throw away.

I also restarted my “vision board” (from the Secret).

One of my stocking items this past Christmas was a package of napkins that are replicas of one hundred dollar bills only thicker and softer.

Anyway, I covered my vision board with one hundred dollar bills and now every time I look up when I am sitting at the computer, I see hundred dollar bills.

Also displayed proudly in the centre of the board is a photo taken during my last trip to Regina of my family.

Oh, I also changed the closing balance on my bank statement to read:  $1,170,000.  (I should email my bank not to send out the paper copy as I am almost paperless).

That has a nice ring to it ….. over one million dollars in my checking account.  ( I can afford to go shopping ) ……. 🙂

As time goes by I shall add items to this board and every time I see them, I shall feel even more great.

It is funny how cleaning out a room can fire up old ideas, and get you on the path once again.

So that is what I did on my Sunday off from BBW (Bath & Body Works).

I was pleasantly surprised when I got to work Friday night to see that I had Sunday off.

This coming Friday night I will have off as well as I am working on Saturday for another Fragrance Launch.

I really enjoyed doing the last couple ….. especially the first one for “Paris Amour” back in the summer.

So that’s it for this morning.

Accomplished quite a lot this weekend and also got to relax and sleep in.

Ready to start the week.

Special Hello to: all those folks who did “clean sweeps” this weekend.

Happy Early Spring………always good to get a jump on things…

Have a great day.

Always, Carol and of course, my treasured sidekick “Mr. Alvin”.

Thought for the day…..

OMG, I just had the most amazing couple of hours.

The neighbour girls six year old “Lea” and four year old “Mahee-Lee” came over for a visit.

Of course, Lea called first.

The other day when Lea was over for a visit (Christmas vacation) she had spotted a fairy inspired / decorated “bank” that Amanda had given me as a gift several years ago.

She really liked it, and asked if she could have it as she did not have one….. I told her that I would have to think about it…… I did….. in fact, I mentioned it to Amanda.

Amanda told me …… if she really loved it ….. why not?  you have so many things.  So today when the girls were here …. I announced to Miss Lea that she could have the fairy bank.

She was so excited.  You all know as well as me that if you give something to one child – you MUST give something to the other.  So I found this little porcelain figurine of a small girl with a banner across her dress for the month of “AUGUST”.  Well as both my birthday and Mahee-Lee’s are in the month of August.  I figured that this was the perfect gift.  Everyone was elated.

Also Lea had wanted some candy canes…. you see she was over on New Year’s Day and helped me take down the tree.  She spotted a small candy cane and wanted it.  I remembered that it was old, and told her that I had some other ones.  When I could locate them she could have them….

Anyway back to earlier this afternoon.  Lea spotted a “microphone” that I had in my office and took it downstairs.  Well the two of them played with it for a good while.  Both taking turns singing and entertaining me and Alvin.  Alvin didn’t quite know what to think, I am sure of that.  But we had a blast.  Mahee-Lee wanted Lea to introduce her as Miley Cyrus. Quite cute.  I also found out that Mahee-Lee is quite the acrobat – doing somersaults and cartwheels.

I laughed all afternoon.  I love when the girls come to visit.  Alvin goes crazy when they come to the door.  He always runs back and forth to the living room when I make the announcement that the girls are coming over.  He is so smart.

Well, this day the thought is …… if a child happens to like one of your small treasures …… let it go.  After all how many ornaments does a “fifty something” gal need?  Really.

The girls were both happy.  They also got a bag of the remaining Halloween treats plus the candy canes that I located.

A grand time was had by all……. even Alvin had fun……

Thought for the day……Just such treasures…

Wow, today is December 22nd, only two days till Christmas Eve …..

I was hanging the most recent Christmas cards that we received and decided to write up the card that I bought for Alvin.

Yes, of course he gets a Christmas card……

My eyes welled up and my heart felt warm and fuzzy as I realized  just how much I love the little guy and my life.

I am so incredibly blessed.

I have an amazing family that loves me.

Some are near and some are far away.

But I treasure their love, and keep them close in my heart.

Friends, I am so blessed in that regard as I have too many to count.

Some from years ago and some just new.

I have always known that I am surrounded by Angels.

Some have four legs and others well just the two.

But nonetheless, I have them all around me.

I know just how blessed I am and how lucky and how fortunate.

My life is perfect.

I have great health, wonderful family and friends, a beautiful home, abundance all around, and a little dog named Alvin who in his own way loves me, too.

So each day is such a treasure and they just get better and better.

So when someone comes into your life despite their arrival ……. things always have a way of working themselves out.

After all, just about one year ago this four legged little creature came into my life.

He threatened to give me a nervous breakdown in the beginning but I can see now that it was “God’s” way of saying …… it won’t be easy.

This relationship you will really have to work on – each and every day.

He will rely on you 100% for all of his days on this earth.

You are his “pack leader” – his friend, his Momma ….

So lesson learned and I am stronger now than ever.

I treasure our days together and miss him whenever I have to go out.

He has taught me many things, likely number one is patience, a close second is LOVE.

I am so amazed at him.

He greets everyone, every soul, whether two legged or four with his “puppy dog” hello and a wagging of his little tail.

He loves everyone…….

I guess that is another lesson learned.

Spread the love around.

Love everyone ……. smile, say hello.

I wish you all the most amazing Christmas ever …… filled with “just such treasures” ….

Always, Carol
