Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 27th day of November, 2018.

Another beautiful day on the way.

Yesterday was a bit cooler than the past several days but still so nice for this time of year.

A time of the year when weather can change in a heartbeat.

Oh, that is most times of the year.

That is living in Canada.

Our weather can change drastically from morning to noon to night.

My Grandma always said “Variety is the spice of life.”

Do you think she was referring to the weather?

Likely not.

Oh well.

I feel sassy and full of vim and vigour this morning.

Most times I am not an early morning person but perhaps it is the extra things I am doing that are helping.

I started taking Vitamin D, a multi-vitamin and onto MATCHA again with breakfast.

Anyway, I feel great.

Certainly is a good way to begin one’s day.

Sunday night I came across something that Charles Dickens had written.

It was on a Christmas card.

I thought it would be appropriate to share it with you:

“I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.”

     Charles Dickens

Such a lovely sentiment and something that we should all try to do.

I do try and keep positive thoughts in my mind (most of the time) and following with kind and generous actions.

But to say that I will honour Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all the year – just brings it up to another level.

We all have heart ache in our lives.

We all have situations that do not go the way we thought or intended.

We all have moments/times when our thoughts and actions are less than stellar.

If we all just take 5 minutes each day for ourselves.

To bright the light back.

We can live through the heart ache.

We can change our thoughts and intentions.

We can have more stellar thoughts and actions.

If you are feeling great and in a good place …. your thoughts and actions will show this.

I hope that you have an amazing day.

Keep Christmas in your heart.

Be kind to yourself and to others.

Special Hello to: all our Angels on earth and in in the heavens, thank you.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 15th day of May, 2014.

The sun is shining brightly in the sky after a raining night.

The grass is beginning to turn green and of course the leaves.

YAY, we are on our way.

I am so grateful that I have the best neighbours and friends.

Last night I stopped at one of our neighbour’s house to let them know the details of the clean-up.

“C” was so helpful and volunteered to do some extra things, I am so grateful.

Also my dear friend “L” from Regina called me last night and we chatted for 2.5 hours.

Yes, you heard it right …. somehow there is always a few months in between phone calls so we always make up for it.

She is one of those people who no matter how long the time in between calls/visits it is just like we talked yesterday.

I miss her.

I miss my friends in Regina.

Not sure why but Mr. Alvin would not settle down last night.

He did not appear to be sick but he did keep me up most of the night.

I am a bit on the tired side.

So happy that the sun is shining that will keep me pumped full of Vitamin D.

Check – reminder ….. to go for a walk on my breaks or at least one of them.

So on this Thursday I hope that you are surrounded by family and friends.

Perhaps lending a hand to someone in need or maybe even organizing a neighbourhood clean-up.

Always remember to call your friends and family.

Well time to got to work.

Happy Thursday.

Thanks again for reading my blog ….  I know your time is precious and I do very much appreciate your time.

Special Hello to: my BF “L” …… such a great visit last night via the telephone ….. not cell ….. the old fashioned one…

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 8th day of May, 2014.

It is a bright, sunny with clear blue skies as far as the eye can see.

YAY.

So happy to start my day with sunshine.

It always makes me feel good no matter what is going on in my life.

That good old Vitamin “D” ….. I can sure tell when I have enough and when I do not have enough in my system.

I have had a few days when I have been less than stellar.

I am certain that we all have those days.

Briefly reflect and then move on.

We are so grateful that we can come by it naturally and that for the next few months we should have lots of sunshine.

I do like some rainy days but am hoping that Mother Nature sees to it that we have more sunshine.

That is the secret to life.

Briefly reflect and then move on.

I hope that you have a wonderful Thursday.

Enjoy the sunshine ….. or rain ……. we need both.

Special Hello to: my sister ….. we have to SKYPE …. it has been too long.  Miss you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 20th day of March, 2014.

WELCOME TO THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING 2014.

The “Vernal Equinox” the time of the year for equal day and night.

How cool is that?

The Vernal Equinox ….. kind of “rolls” off one’s tongue.

It makes us happy …. increasing daylight with warming temperatures.

When we experience the rebirth of both “flora and fauna” ….. now I love the sound of that.

I am feeling so much better today and I hope that everyone surrounding me feels the same.

We can only feel better and more energized with the increased sunlight giving us all of that natural vitamin “D.”

Something that we have been missing over this long, overcast, snowy, cold winter.

So Happy Spring everyone!!

I hope that you are doing the Happy Spring Dance, as am I.

Most of our snow and ice has melted and finally the storm drain is open.

I had been able to keep it open all winter until this last bit when the ice just got away on me.

But with a bit of help from a kindly “man” down the street it is open.

I love the sound of the water running down the drain.

Most importantly melting and running away from our yards …..

Last night Alvin and I enjoyed a wonderful walk.

By the time we got home Mr. Alvin was muddy ….. oh, and I mean muddy.

We tried to walk around and miss it but alas it did not quite go according to plan.

His little belly and his legs which are mostly a soft beautiful “white” fur were “black” like his head.

So his Momma had to give him a makeshift bath when we got home …….

We did enjoy our walk…..

Bumped into some neighbours from across the lake.

Always nice to have a visit and see people.

So on this happy Thursday …. I say go outside and let out a big “whoop” for Happy First Day of Spring.

Walk around all day with a huge smile plastered across your face.

Maybe treat yourself to some chocolate or to your favourite flowers.

Spread the joy.

Have the best day.

Special Hello to: my travelling sister …. have a great trip in Vegas.  I love Vegas.

Always, Carol and Alvin

P.S. note to self, do not bring your shoes home early from work because now it is snowing and I have to wear my boots…….and take my shoes back…..I was so looking forward to just wearing my shoes.  Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 12th day of January, 2014.

What a great day …. SUN IS RISING AND THE SKY IS CLEAR.

It always makes me feel so ENERGIZED and HAPPY.

It is surprising what a good shot of VITAMIN D …. NATURE’s FINEST …. SUNSHINE can do.

I had a wonderful Saturday ….. two visits from my daughter and then after supper two of my friends ( sisters ), and their doggie “ABI” (Alvin’s girlfriend) came for a visit.

How blessed am I?

VERY.

The icing on the cake ….

In less than 15 minutes I am to SKYPE with my beloved sister.

A perfect end to a wonderful weekend.

I am working today at noon so I am very happy to have the time to visit with my sister via SKYPE.

I hope that this weekend found you surrounded by good friends and family, of course.

So I am off to chat with my sister and enjoy a cup of coffee before toddling off to work.

Enjoy your Sunday wherever you are and whatever you are doing …..

Special Hello to: ALL MY FRIENDS ALL OVER THE WORLD …. I am nothing without you.  Blessed, thank you.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Welcome to Tuesday, November 13th, 2012 ….

It is a beautiful morning here in Edmonton …. the air feels much warmer and throughout the next few days we are to reach plus temperatures.  YAY.

The sun has shone for the past couple of days which has been great.

Sunshine sure helps with the energy level …… we have to remember to take Vitamin D at this time of year ….. they were advising that on television.

Well I hope that everyone had a lovely weekend.

As always there was lots to do ranging from housework to Bath & Body Work’s Forever Red Launch on Friday night to several coffee breaks along with the way with my daughter and two friends.

I always enjoy getting together with the girls and enjoying a great cup of coffee and a visit.  The girls energize me and keep me young.

Alvin even managed to get a hair cut and bath ….. something for the boy and finally a walk yesterday.  Between the snow and the snow ….. we missed a few walks.  The longest time period that we have gone without a walk.

I must say that he looks rather handsome and that I am getting the hang of it with regard to his haircut.  Not really the easiest thing to do.

He does well …… but hair …… OMG, I vacuumed and swept and still was finding hair the next day …….

Well it is time to get going here.

I hope that you all have a wonderful Tuesday.

Keep dreaming …… I am and do.

Special Hello to: all those folks that are away from home … keep them safe, healthy and bring them home soon.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Wednesday morning and today is March 28th, 2012.

Wow ….. as we are getting closer to summer …..

My mind wanders to warm sunny mornings enjoying a cup of fresh brewed coffee on my deck with Alvin curled up at my side.

To hearing the songs of all the birds in my neighbourhood.

To warm summer breezes and sunshine boosting my vitamin D levels so that I am naturally energized daily.

To walking in the rain and entranced by the many colours of the rainbow way up in the sky.

Imagining finding my pot of gold……

To enjoying visits with my friends on our decks …..

To walking with Alvin with no coats, boots, scarves or mitts….. YAY.

My glass if always more than half full and although I am enjoying spring very much ….

most especially the arrival of all the babies ….. it is okay to dream of what is to come.

My moments are precious all of them past, present and future……

Have a wonderful day …. enjoy your moments ….

Special Hello to:   everyone who sees their glass half full … you rock…. and to the others …. give it a try ….. you will be pleasantly surprised…you rock, too….

Always, Carol and Mr. Alvin …..
