Living … One day at a time.

Good Morning Canada.

Tuesday morning.

Our Federal Election is now over and it would appear that the Liberal Party under the leadership of Justin Trudeau has held on with a Minority Government.

The  Official Opposition under the leadership of Andrew Scheer is the Conservative Party.

The following parties all have various number of seats in government in order of the most to the least with one.

Bloc Québécois

New Democrat

Green

Independent

Well it was an interesting evening but not a real surprise.

Or at least not to me.

Last night after work Alvin had his supper, we went for a walk, took out the trash, raked up the leaves front and back all before I caught a ride to vote with one of my friends

at 5:45 (home at 4:40 p.m.).

Good night, all in all.

I am happy that I was able to get the leaves raked for the fourth time – just in case.

Although I did hear another double digit plus day later this week.

Whoot Whoot.

Awesome news.

Oh and Humphrey joined us last night after work.

Those darn little plant flies.

Not many but enough to be annoying.

Well almost time to go back downstairs.

I had better remember to take that box of kleenex to work.

Yesterday, I forgot and kept reaching for one.

Happy Tuesday.

Oh, I have a costume for Halloween.

Thank you to my friend for lending me her “Harry Potter” costume.

I am using my own hair as I have a similar hair cut … who knew.

Happiness lies in a life lived with kindness and respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 20th day of October, 2015.

We have a new government voted in last night in Canada.

The Liberal Party won with a majority vote.

So let us see what they can do for us.

Congratulations Justin Trudeau.

Change can be good.

I certainly know all about change.

In the years prior to moving to Alberta my life was pretty much the same.

With this I mean …. that I got up …. went to work and went home.

I did volunteer work and visited with my friends and family.

Work was for the most part the same.

Although we did implement a new computer system in the 90’s.

I knew my job …. lived in the same apartment …..

Since 2008 my life has been full of change.

Some good some not.

But all I can say is that you have to embrace whatever comes your way.

You always have a choice not matter what the situation is ….

Choice is to make it okay or not.

Why stress over CHANGE when it comes into your life.

Just hold onto to it, and run.

If you put a positive spin on change it will not seem so overwhelming.

Why stress ….. I think in these past few years that most people have been dumped right into the midst of change.

Change in the economy and to their jobs.

Change in family and friends.

Change in health.

Change.

So on this Tuesday …. when change comes your way ….. embrace it.

We do absolutely require CHANGE to grow.

Have a great Tuesday everyone.

Special Hello to:  so grateful for the video chat with my sister and great niece on Sunday night.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 19th day of October, 2015.

Happy 7th Wedding Anniversary to my daughter and son-in-law.

Alvin and I wish you all the best on this special day and may your life from this day forward be filled with nothing but perfect health, great joy, love, laughter and abundance.

Happy Anniversary ……

I was thinking this morning as today is the Federal Election for Canada.

Today we VOTE for our Prime Minister …. possibly a new party taking the helm in Canada.

The thought that popped into my head was this:  can you imagine going to bed on Sunday night in your own house like you always do; waking up the next morning to anxiously await your destiny.

Tuesday morning wake to “Mr. Prime Minister” or “Madam Prime Minister.”

How strange and exciting would that be.

One day you are a normal citizen walking into Starbucks for a coffee and the next day someone gets your coffee.

I like that ….. wouldn’t that be nice.

Well I cannot say that I would like to be Prime Minister …. it is a huge job.

In the beginning you are the STAR because the people voted you into the job.

Somewhere down the road things fall apart or things do not go the way “we” think they should (because we do not necessarily know the whole big picture) and then you are not the shining star.

Oh well, tough job.

I wish all of the candidates the best of luck …. win or lose.

To all my fellow Canadians who are of the age of majority – get out and VOTE.

Every vote is important.

Well almost time to go to work.

Catch that bus.

Special Hello: my sister and my great niece “S” …. so great to SKYPE last night….. have a great day.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 4th day of May, 2015.

It is raining at this moment …. or at least it was ….. we could use the moisture so that is good.

Mr. Alvin and his chewy bone are like a pair.

After I voted on Saturday I stopped by our local “Bone & Biscuit” store and picked up a couple of treats for Alvin.

When I got home I gave him the first one.

It was pretty big.

He carried it around the house hiding it along the way.

Alvin likes to him them for a long while before actually eating them.

That first one last well into the night on Saturday.

Yesterday when our company arrived I decided to give him the second and last one that I had bought.

He is still hiding it.

He brings it to bed ….. hides it behind the decorator pillows until I removed the pillows from the bed.

Then he hid it at the foot of the bed …. not really hiding it …. as it was in plain sight.

Then this morning he brought it downstairs …..

After he ate he wanted to take it outside.

Then he brought it back in and when he sat on my lap it came to the table.

He dropped it on the table before snuggling onto my lap.

Then I went to the bathroom …..

He always wants to come in …. in came the treat.

Alvin pushed it behind the bathroom vanity.

When we left the bathroom, I had to get it out as he just stood there and gave a little bark.

It was too tight of a space for him to get back into …..

After breakfast he brought it back upstairs and hid it in the bathroom where I was putting on makeup.

It remains there for the moment as he is stretched out on the carpet in front of the office.

He is so darn cute.

He has hid his chewy behind the cushions on the sofa, on the chair, on the mat by the back door, in the corner by the back door, downstairs in the family room …. anywhere really.

I just wanted to share my morning thus far.

Well almost time to leave as I am on Aussie patrol ….. have to go and look after one of my neighbour’s cat.

I hope that you have an amazing day.

Happy Monday everyone.

Special Hello to: anyone that has a dog or cat or any companion …. they always make us smile.  I am smiling now.

Thought for the day…..

WHOO HOO ….. what a gorgeous weekend and morning …. today is Monday, April 23rd, 2012.

Today the citizens of Alberta go to the polls to vote for our provincial leadership.

I hope that everyone goes out to vote.

Yesterday I was reminded by my dog Alvin to be MORE PRESENT and to LIVE IN THE MOMENT.

It is funny that a creature that cannot communicate by our traditional standards …. can teach you so much.

My grand-puppies, Elton and Penny had spent Saturday night with us, and yesterday morning as the night before the three of them seem to have energy to burn as they raced around the living and kitchen.

A little jump here and there as they slid on the rugs/mats by the doors.  So cute.

Grabbing a bone from each other and running …. playing.

It is funny that whenever we were on the sofa or in bed …. that Alvin would make sure that he got as close to me as he could ….. you could not place a hair between us ….

It was a great weekend for me.

I had coffee with my good friend G, had walks with Alvin, raked the back yard, did some laundry, did some cleaning and spent time with my Elton and Penny  and of course, Alvin.

I am grateful to have had the weekend at home …. the whole weekend…..no outside job to go to….. it was great.

It was funny ….. after Elton and Penny had gone home yesterday morning …. my friend was already here for coffee …. when Al decided that he wanted up onto my lap…..he usually only does this when I do my morning writing before breakfast ….

So I picked him up and he looked around and then snuggled onto my lap…. I guess he no longer wished to share his Momma or at least that is what I felt he was thinking.

Well here it is almost time to leave for work …. Monday.

I hope that each and every one of you have the best day ever.

Special Hello to:  every pet owner …..

Always, Carol and me Alvin.
