Second Half of the YEAR.

Good Morning,

Happy Birthday to my brother-in-law Todd and to our Mom, who is an Angel watching over us all.

Surrounded with family and friends.

Happy Birthday.

We had some serious rain last night and I was happy that we had our walks in the morning before work and at lunchtime.

I had planned for us to go this morning but it is wet with lapses of fog.

Yes, fog.

It rolls in and out.

Sun shines.

Then fog.

So I am glad that we stayed at home.

Forecast looks good for noon and after work.

I would like to get back to two walks each day again.

We had been walking twice a day for several weeks before Alvin had some health issues.

Now that we are back to normal, I want to take advantage of that time.

I thought it might be interesting as a Canadian to watch and listen to the United States Democratic and Republican Conventions.

Last week I listened to the Democrats and now this week the Republicans.

It has been interesting, I will say that for sure.

There have been some great speeches and some less than stellar ones, in my opinion.

I have only watched one night thus far of the Republican Convention.

I wonder why it is that some people find it better to “bad mouth” their opposition instead of outlining their platforms.

Digging up what they deem to be “dirt” so as to injure the chances of the opposition winning.

So?

What will they do differently?

What will they do to make the next four years better than the last four?

What will they change?

How will they make those changes?

After all isn’t government supposed to lead a country!

Some folks just seem to bask in drama, I get that.

But to lead a country, leaders need to lead.

Right?

Keeping their personal opinions on the back shelf and doing what is right for the people in their country.

Keeping those opinions out of the media.

But then again perhaps it is all about character.

The people want the best person for the job.

The person that will lead them into the next four years, the future.

The person that will not alienate their country’s neighbours and divide its’ citizens.

Politics, politics.

What can one say?

I wish the United States all the best in this upcoming election.

Remember to VOTE.

Voting is what gets you change.

Good Luck.

Well the fog has rolled in again.

Alvin is resting on his little bed that I made for him in the upstairs office.

Time once again to go and grab that first cup of coffee and get this work day going.

We have training later this morning and then more training this afternoon.

In between I have calls to return and mail to do.

Never a slow moment.

Especially after returning from vacation.

Living our lives with kindness and respect, always.

I/We shall remain,

Always, Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time.

Hello, good morning.

Another “dry” morning outside.

I hear there might be some moisture coming our way.

I sure wish and hope that it stays away at least until after Halloween.

Always nice for the TRICK & TREATERS to have warm dry weather and also for the homes.

Everytime we open the door …..

I love seeing all of the neighborhood children coming around.

Some of the costumes are full of thoughtful consideration.

Cannot wait.

I am going to be HARRY POTTER.

At this time I have a similar hair style/cut so why not.

Well Monday morning again.

So happy that I was the first one to wake up this morning at 4:15 a.m.

We did go downstairs and then hit the sofa for a few extra zzz’s.

Today is FEDERAL ELECTION DAY in CANADA.

I feel every election whether provincial or federal there are no clear choices.

So what do you do?

Pick the lesser of the evil so to speak?

If it was the party only it may not be so difficult.

But these leaders are not proper leaders in my opinion.

How could we have one of them representing us on a daily basis on the world stage?

Well I guess one of them already has been.

Not sure he has done such a great job.

Now lots of folks would disagree with me and that is okay.

After all we live in a Democracy and I have the right to my opinion.

Anyway I have today to make up my mind.

I have thought about not voting but really that is not an option.

I feel that voting is a privilege that has been fought long and hard to obtain.

So not voting is not an option.

Well I guess it is almost time to hit the trail.

Back to work.

Alvin and I had a great weekend.

We saw our girl.

I even went shopping.

We had wonderful walks.

Alvin and I had our photos taken to put in with our Christmas cards.

We visited with Teddy and his Mom.

Even did some work in between all of the socializing, shopping and walking.

So blessed.

Please treat every living creature you come upon this day and every day.

With kindness and respect.

That is the way we should all be treated.

Not an option in my book.

Everyone deserves kindness and respect.

They do.

Happy Monday.

Watch over us all.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time

Hello,

Good Morning!

How are you?

I am doing quite well.

What is the weather like at your house?

Appears that it rained overnight here as the deck is wet.

I will find out just how wet when I go to pick up the poop in a few minutes. ARGH.

Too much information.

Sorry.

What did you do last night?

Alvin and I went for a walk with one of our friends.

Remarking on the leaves changing along the way.

We had a great chat, catching up on all of our news and enjoying nature.

After our walk we were back home where I made myself supper.

Followed by a few chores and watching a couple of recorded shows.

I saw the season premiere of “New Amsterdam.”

It certainly took me for a few loops and jolts.

But it was great.

Anything new and exciting in your life?

We are hopefully “voting yes” to our contract today.

I am always happy with the same old, same old.

New and exciting.

Change although it is necessary as we age we are happy with just the same.

Not to say that we don’t want or need some excitement and some new stuff.

But for the most part I am like Mr. Alvin …. happy with the routine.

Well time to head downstairs and gather things up for work.

Pick up the poop, too.

I know “way too much information.”

I hope that this finds you in good health and that all news is good.

Keep in touch.

Have an awesome Wednesday.

Thank you for the chat.

Showing kindness and respect in every action in every day is living a great life.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 7th day of April, 2019.

A glorious bright sunny morning has arrived.

The sky is so beautiful and blue.

There is frost on the cars that I can see from our windows.

Most of the snow has melted at the front and rear of our house.

We are grateful for that.

I just saw some water dripping down at the back of the house.

Our temperature is to be double digits today.

About 13 degrees celsius.

Which is absolutely glorious.

Well Teddy went home yesterday late afternoon.

Here are three photos from the sleepover.

Those boys are sure cute.

I could take photos of them all day long.

Too bad that I missed the shot with both boys having the chew treat in their mouth.

It was cute.

Well as I had a sort of lazy Saturday time to get the “boots” on and get to work.

Laundry is done …. thankfully.

Some to bring up from the basement and put away.

Will rake the back again once the snow is gone.

I did rake the back yesterday.

Going to bake some Raisin Chocolate-Chip Cookies today.

Wash the main floor (trace of paw prints showing).

Go for a walk this afternoon as it warms up.

Get ready for the work week.

Enter/submit a NORWEX order.

Likely forgetting something but it will get done.

I hope that you all have an awesome Sunday.

If you live in Alberta – thoughts of the upcoming election are likely flitting around your brain.

Who to vote for?

It becomes increasingly more difficult with every election.

Why is that?

Why is it so hard to find someone who truly wants to do good by all people?

Why is it so hard?

I do not know.

I do not know.

Well for today no thoughts of the election – just thoughts of spring and enjoying this day.

Special Hello to: my friends all over the world…..

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 16th day of October, 2017.

What a glorious Sunday we had …. beautiful warm day.

Alvin and I loved our walk.

He sniffed and I took in the sights.

Back to work.

Why is it that Monday morning always seems to show up so quickly?

Time is supposed to pass at the same rate but really does not appear to.

Oh well.

Back to work.

We had a busy weekend but relaxing and productive.

Yesterday got groceries, finished the laundry, walked with Alvin, started some Christmas projects and assisted my neighbour in fixing my entrance light.

YAY …..

So today is our civic election here in Edmonton.

If you live in Edmonton, please go and vote.

Have an awesome Monday everyone.

Special Hello to: all my fellow Earthlings ….. remember we share this planet with all creature and we owe them kindness, compassion and respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 2nd day of May, 2015.

What a strange morning it has been weather wise.

When Alvin and I first got up at 5:30 – the sky was overcast, I could see rain clouds lining up.

Then we hit the sofa for some extra zzz’s and got up just after 8:00 to find bright sunshine.

Now it is just a few minutes after 9:00 and the sky is beginning to fill with clouds.

So I must get this show on the road as my plan was to go and vote in the advance polls for our provincial election followed by a little trip to the grocery store.

Oh and it is windy.

We sure seem to have been experiencing more wind the past weeks.

Not sure what is going on there or maybe it is just this gal’s memory playing tricks.

As I sip on a hot cup of coffee or rather a warm cup of coffee as you see I turned off the heat figuring not necessary and it is rather cool in the house.

But we are tough, and it is in the low 60’s (F) in the house so really that is not cold.

After all, Mr. Alvin is wearing his coat and I can always don a sweater to help.

So another busy Saturday and oh how I am loving having Saturdays at home.

Cleaning …… extra walks with Alvin …… doing whatever I chose and whatever needs to be done.

I miss my friends at the store but love having my time at home.

My thoughts are of them and also of the people of Nepal.

One of my co-workers from the office is from Nepal and just so happens she is visiting her family.

They are safe.

I keep them safe in my thoughts.

So on this Saturday think of how lucky we are and if you can lend a helping hand ….

Some people can go to Nepal and help but most of us can only send money or much needed items.

We should always do what we can to help others.

It does not matter where they live whether next door or across the ocean …. we are here to help each other.

I hope that you all have an awesome Saturday.

Stay warm, keep safe and treat the world with kindness and respect.

Special Hello to: my friend in Nepal and to her family …..

Always, Carol and Alvin
