Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 8th day of September, 2018.

The sky appears to be multitude of pinks, greys and blues this morning as the sun begins to rise in the morning sky.

Yesterday was over 26 degrees celsius and we enjoyed it.

Today is forecast to be around 20 degrees celsius and then we have rain with mid teen days.

I hope that all of the farmers out there were able to complete the harvest of all their crops.

Sounds like British Columbia is having rain and rain in their forecast so hopefully the fires will all go out soon.

Today Master Teddy – Alvin’s BFF is coming to spend the day with us.

His Papa is going to the farm and his Momma is working so he will come and keep us company.

Just a great play-date.

He is such a happy little guy and always brings such joy to our house.

Both Alvin and I love to have him here.

Bundle of energy that one.

Alvin has his regular 5 or so week pedicure and check-up so Teddy will accompany us.

Oh, I did not have to catch the bus home last night as my daughter picked me up from work.

We went to COSTCO.

COSTCO was busy as usual.

For some reason it took us longer than usual.

After my daughter dropped off me and the groceries and said HI to her little brother.

Alvin of course had his supper.

I put away all of my purchases.

Then went to change out of my work clothes.

After our usual Alvin go round the table or actually under the kitchen table, he was in his harness and we were out the door.

Just Alvin, his water bottle and me.

Poop bags and keys in hand.

It was so beautiful last night.

We thoroughly enjoyed it.

When we arrived near Teddy’s house we saw his Papa outside walking back toward the garage.

Alvin made a dash for him and our friend yelled out in his soft voice “Alvin, hello.”

He invited us into the house.

Teddy ran and jumped up into my arms and gave me a kiss.

He is so darn cute.

I quickly undid Alvin’s leash and he was off – checking every place for food.

Teddy eats a bit here and a bit there so they leave his food out all day.

Not me Alvin.

He eats whatever is out and then looks for more.

We had a nice visit and then off as I needed to get the lawn mowed.

Last night mowed the front and back, trimmed some of the plants in the front flower bed and watered everything as no rain in the forecast until tomorrow.

Well here it is almost time for Teddy to arrive and I need to put on a load of laundry and get that part of the day going.

I hope that you have an amazing Saturday.

Take some time to “stop and smell the roses.”

We actually have roses lining the entrance to our park and I always stop.

It is a reminder to be still and enjoy.

Take care.

Special Hello to: all of my friends all over the world.  Thank you for joining me on this adventure called “life.”

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 5th day of September, 2017.

The sun is just starting to rise at about 6:20 a.m.

What a difference from a few weeks ago when it was light before 5:00 a.m.

The days are noticeably shorter now as we ease into autumn or fall, the last quarter of the year 2017.

The air is much cooler in the morning and cools off in the evening as well.

Although this week is to be in the mid to high 20’s …… on the warm side.

Last night was perfect when Alvin and I went for a walk and to water our friend’s flowers.

I am wishing/hoping/praying that her flowers remain as beautiful this Friday as they were last night.

I love flowers and spending the time in her yard with Alvin ….. is priceless.

AS I gaze out of my office window I am in awe of the skyline.

The trees reach up in line against the pale orange and blues of the sunrise.

What a gorgeous time of day.

I shall definitely enjoy my walk to the bus this morning.

Back to work ….. we had a wonderful weekend.

We walked, cleaned and watered.

I hope that you all enjoyed your weekend as well.

Happy Tuesday Everyone.

Special Hello to: To all the folks in the southern United States as you come out of the other side of Hurricane Harvey ….. you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Keep safe, warm and strong.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 26th day of May, 2016.

The sun is rising when I look out our bedroom window and when I look out of the office window the sky is partially overcast.

What a difference a few feet makes.

We had more rain overnight.

The lawn had a hair cut last night with thanks to my neighbour.

My neighbour to the west (not in the other half) shares the front lawn with me or I with her.

We take turns cutting the lawn in the summer and shovelling the front walks in the winter.

It is so good to have great neighbours, thoughtful and kind.

Our grass is looking pretty good now.

Most of the lawns before our five days of rain were looking pretty dry except for the ones that faithfully watered every second day.

Today Elton is coming to spend the day with Alvin, and he will enjoy the company.

Well I guess shoes with socks that I can remove the socks if it heats up, do not need jacket but will take umbrella just in case, and wear the sunglasses.

Just like winter ….. take extras and layer.

I am grateful for my home, for me Alvin and all of my family and friends.

I am grateful for the kindness of people.

I am grateful for my life.

Remember even when you have a moment where you think life STINKS and maybe it does at that moment.

It always and I mean always gets better.

You have to want it …. to will it and to live it.

Keep dreaming.

Smile and dream.

Time to get going …… I get a ride to work today….. YAY, me.

Bus is good but a ride is a nice change.

Have the most wonderful day.

Thank you for reading my blog and sharing your time with me.

Special Hello to: my family all over the world.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day ……

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 31st day of July, 2015.

It is a bright sunny morning with a nice cool breeze here in Edmonton.

The forecast is for high twenties today …. so hot.

I am in the throes of getting ready for my road trip.

Alvin doesn’t realize just yet that he is going for a sleepover to his sister’s for a few days.

But I am sure he will be happy once he arrives (he is not much of a traveller).

The cool air is seeping in through the office window as I type these words.

I am so excited to see my siblings for a few days …. together.

I am almost packed ….. cannot decide to what to wear.

Either one takes too much or not enough.

I don’t wish to appear to be “moving” in …….

My brother “J” celebrates a birthday in August so we will have an impromptu party since we will be together.

Just like when we were kids.

The flowers are all watered ….. I have almost everything on my to do list completed.

Coffee …. shower ….. coffee ….. vacuum ….. READY …. change wall flower bulbs ……

I could always think of something ….

Well I had better get this show on the road.

I will not have access to a computer for the next couple of days so will write upon my return.

I hope that you all have an awesome weekend.

See you later …..

Enjoy and be safe.

Thank you “S” for the birthday wishes for John I shall pass them on ….

Thank you “M” we shall enjoy our time together.

Special Hello to:  all those brothers and sisters out there enjoy your time together ….

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 29th day of June, 2015.

Second last day of June ….. we are into summer full swing.

Sun has been blocked by some rain clouds ….. aw just after I watered the flowers.

Up extra early to take Mr. Alvin for a walk just in case it is too hot to do so tonight.

Yesterday was one of the best days of the summer so far.

I got up early and took Mr. Alvin for a walk, watered and weeded by flowers.

Had coffee and got ready for our road trip.

My daughter picked me up and we were on our way.

My nephew has made huge progress and I am so proud of him.

He is a stubborn and very strong kid which has definitely helped him in his recovery.

He still has a way to go but he will make it.

His sense of humour ….. is showing once again.

He loves to tease and he teased his Aunt Carol yesterday.

Just a few minutes after our arrival the rest of the family arrived.

He was just into his wheelchair so we took him for a walk.

Just before it got too too hot.

He loved being outside.

Then we broke for lunch ….. he had his and we went out to a restaurant.

After lunch we went back for a few hours in the afternoon.

We took him into the courtyard and just enjoyed each other’s company and the beautiful day.

Thank goodness for shade and benches.

It was a great day.

Then I returned to me Alvin …… sure missed him.

My neighbour had popped in to check on him so that was very nice.

Well here it is almost time to leave again for work.

Wasn’t that yesterday?

Monday morning always comes quickly.

Oh well …… as long as I have to work.

Perhaps this Friday will be the day that I win the lottery ….. or actually we because my friend and I buy tickets together.

I hope that you had a great Sunday.

I thoroughly enjoyed it beginning, middle and end.

Happy Monday.

Special Hello to: my sister and brother …. always enjoy seeing my siblings….. wished you lived just down the street.

Perhaps when I win the lottery you can move to Edmonton …. then we could have coffee on my deck in the mornings while we decide where to volunteer that day.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 7th day of June, 2015.

WOW, another glorious morning and I feel like shouting it from the rooftop.

YAY …..

I have had a great weekend.

The only thing missing was seeing my daughter and her family.

Yesterday by the time the birthday party started at 10:00 a.m. …..

The flowers front and back were all watered, quickly mowed the back lawn, vacuumed and washed the main floor, dusted and prepared for the party.

The birthday party was a huge success …. the birthday girl enjoyed her gifts and red velvet cupcakes stacked high with my “not to secret” icing and LAUGHTER and CHAT.  We three girls can run the field with every topic under the sun.

It was the perfect party.

After the party …. I mowed and raked the front lawn before it got to hot and finished off the back lawn.  LAUNDRY …. there is always that to do……

By about 3:00,  I decided to call it quits other than finishing the laundry ….. RELAXING TIME.

We curled up on the sofa and just watched a movie.

After supper ….. returned a phone call and then we went for a walk.

I was going to bake cookies to take to Bath & Body Works today but I was pooped …. so bedtime it was.

Well it is just after 9:00 a.m. …… the cookie dough is all made up now and ready for me to scoop it into the oven to bake.

I wanted to take a treat to my friends at the store ….

It has been way too long …. I haven’t been back since my last shift on April 4th.

Somehow the time just has simply got away on me.

I guess after 4 years of working two jobs and for a good portion of it 6-7 days per week …. I had to RELAX and get some things done at home…..

Although it does seem strange that I used to manage to get everything that needed to be done at home and worked two jobs.  Somehow we find the time and strength to do it all.

I will say that I love being home with Mr. Alvin in the evenings and weekends.

Well time to go and get those cookies baked so I can catch the bus to the mall.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day.

Special Hello to: all my friends on the planet …. you rock.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning Everyone,

What a wonderful day.  We (me and Alvin) were up early …. wrote in my journal, walked with Alvin down by the lake, cut the front lawn, raked it and watered it (forecast was for rain but not sure if it will happen), watered shrubs and grass in the back as well as cut the grass, baked a pineapple cake and am on my way to give Sir Alvin a bath.  Once that is done, I have some computer work to do and prepare our jewelry for the upcoming open house on June 11th.  Busy day.

It always feels great to accomplish several jobs early in the day ……

I hope that you are getting to your TO DO list and feel that great sense of pride and satisfaction of a job well done.

Have the best day everyone.

Happy Wednesday.

May your day be filled with riches beyond belief.

You are worthy and deserving…

Always, Carol
