2021

Good Morning ALL! Well we are down to the final stretch only FOUR sleeps till Christmas EVE. WOW.

Our little visitor arrived late yesterday afternoon. I present Miss Cookie.

We had our first night. She was missing her family for most of the evening and went to the front door every few minutes. I was pleased to see her go outside with Alvin. She did not want a treat last night. She also did not settle down last night. Up on the bed and down. We were up at 2:00 and then I thought maybe she would be more comfortable on the main floor so downstairs we went. Outside. Then to the sofa, she did lay on the end of the sofa by my feet for a bit. Alvin wanted to eat at 4:00 but I said “not yet” but then again about 5:00 and finally at 5:30 we were up and stayed up. He gobbled his food down and she would not touch hers.

This morning while I was in my bathroom putting on my “eyebrows” – I returned to the bedroom to see looming in the semi darkness a parcel on my white rug. OMG, she pooped on the rug only about two feet from the pee pad that I had put down. I have a few throughout the house. But this would not be the first time a pup has pooped on that rug and that is why I have “pet stain remover.” Alvin is laying on the hall rug and Cookie is somewhere downstairs.

I am not surprised by her actions and reactions, this is a semi strange house for her. In a day or two she will be more at home. She is the sweetest little thing. She seems to like me as she has licked my face more than once.

A cup of coffee will be so good this morning and hopefully tonight everyone will sleep through most of the night.

Continuing to live this life with respect, kindness, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding and gratitude.

Always, Carol & Alvin

P.S. I was thinking last night. Can you imagine what our world would be like if we all looked the same, had the same thoughts, opinions and faith? Our world is so amazing because of our differences. As 2021 quickly turns into 2022 – let us celebrate our differences and know they make our world a better, more interesting and fun place to live!

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 5th day of September, 2015.

Today is the day that my friend arrives to visit from Regina.

She is already in the city visiting with another friend.

Lucky gal … lots of friends.

The sky is clear as the rain clouds have moved on.

The sun is shining.

It is a glorious day.

This is going to be ultra short as I have a few preparations yet to complete.

Always last minute things …. it has to be perfect.

I am even going to bake some “Steeped Tea” confetti cupcakes and the house will smell awesome.

Well I had better hit the shower (get dressed – just ironed my jeans and top).

Still have to vacuum and wash all of the floors so that they are freshly cleaned.

Perhaps a bit of last minute dusting ……

Check each room …..

Write up her card to put alongside her little welcome gift that is sitting on her bed.

I am so excited ….. always great to have guests.

Well it is just after 8:30 a.m. and she will be here around noon.

Better fly …. the time will pass quickly.

Alvin is wondering who I am speaking about …..

Soon he will see her ….. Miss P.

YAY ….. it is a great weekend.

Oh, yesterday we had company …. Miss Penny and Sir Elton.

Penny has been under the weather and was doing great yesterday.

We are hoping that she will be better and in our lives for many, many years to come.

All of our babies …. we love them so much.

Okay …. quit babbling I gotta go …. so excited.

Coffee … drink … shower ….. dressed ….. Alvin what?  outside ….. just a minute.

Thank you for reading my blog … I hope that you have an awesome long weekend.

Special Hello to: all those folks who have company on the way to visit …. enjoy.

Always, Carol and Alvin

VICTORIA

Nestled so brilliantly on the isle of Vancouver,

Is this beautiful gem named Victoria.

She is surrounded by water on three sides.

She welcomes visitors from land and by sea.

The flora and fauna are absolutely breathtaking.

Some of which I had never seen.

The coloration to favour any palette.

You must travel there to see.

People so helpful and friendly,

Make you feel like a “Queen” ….

So if you are blessed, take the chance and go see her..

The buildings rich in historical character.

There are places where the streets are lined with stone.

Even a couple of palm trees, what in Canada !!

Treasures I have found so many, antique stores aplenty.

My treasure chest was so full, just made it under by 2.8 pounds.

That’s what the nice lady told me at the airport, on my way home.

Any kind of souvenir or trinket you desire, can be found in Victoria.

Then there’s Fisherman’s Wharf ….. serving up “fish & chips” with houseboats docked nearby.

There’s the Empress Hotel,  magnificent and regal all the way up high.

Full of history and information there’s the Royal BC Museum, complete with a woolly mammoth & real ice.

The home of writer and artist Emily Carr with beautiful gardens, and close by Beacon Hill Park, rich in colour

If you take the double decker bus you will see the shoreline with water so blue and the cruise ships approaching, coming in, too.

You will pass by beautiful homes and gardens on your way …..

Then there’s Chinatown, Fat Phege’s Fudge Factory and OMG, Rogers Chocolates.  Mmm, so good.

Then there’s the Spa at the Magnolia Hotel (place where I stayed) …… heaven

Did I say flowers, trees and such nice people.

Oh, I almost forgot they even have a castle, the Craigdarroch….

I am certain I might have forgotten ….. but oh Victoria !!!

You are a brilliant gem shining bright in our glorious country, Canada.

I am so grateful that you were so gracious and opened your door and heart for me to visit.

Thank you, Victoria.
