Living … One day at a time.

Hello,

Welcome to the last day of June 2019.

How did that happen?

WOW …..

Bright sunny morning with a bit of a breeze.

In about one hour – Master Teddy will arrive to spend the day with us.

I, we always love to have Teddy spend time with us.

He brings an instant joy and energy wherever he comes to our home.

I dare not mention him before he comes or Alvin will spend the time at the window watching for him.

Same goes for Teddy.

Except Teddy will just run around making it hard to catch him.

So his Mama does not say anything until they are on their way.

Although I am pretty sure he knows at that point that he is coming to our house.

It is so amazing that these wonderful beings are excited to come and see us.

I love being surrounded by these amazing creatures.

They don’t care what you are wearing or if you have on makeup.

Doesn’t matter if you have dishes drying in the sink or if you have a pillow out of place.

There is no judgment of any sort.

They just love you for you and perhaps a treat or two.

If you treat them with respect, kindness and with love they will be loyal for a lifetime.

They do not ask for much.

Animals are more forgiving than humans.

It breaks my heart to read stories about the horrible treatment of animals whether domesticated or in the wild.

But why?

Why do we always have to do such things.

We could learn so much for all of the other inhabitants of this earth.

So on this last day of June take note of how you treat all of the non-human creatures on this planet.

If we all change our ways just a bit ….

Can you imagine what a wonderful world this would be?

If we treat animals better … then we treat each other better.

Be kind and respectful, always.

Happy Sunday.

May your day be filled with sunshine and rainbows.

May you be joyful and surrounded with laughter and abundance.

Life is good.

All my babies and me.

They bring such joy to my life.

And no matter what …. there is kindness and respect.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 15th day of April, 2017.

SNOW, SNOW and more snow.

That is what is happening here in Edmonton.

It has been snowing pretty much steadily since early early Friday morning.

Looks like I will be shovelling again and again.

The snow was so heavy that when I pushed it along the deck with the shovel and removed said shovel it stayed in a roll.

Instant snow roll ….

Last night one of my friends and neighbours came for a visit.

I always enjoy our visits.

She has had her own business for over 30 years.

There is always something I learn during our time together.

This time it was how Mothers in the wild quieten their pups …..

Interesting.

They just firmly hold their mouths shut.

Not hurting them ….

They tell them in a low growl …. to be quiet.

Now this is for safety against predators.

Mommas have to hunt and are forced to leave their young ones alone.

She also brought me some beautiful flowers.

So thoughtful.

Well today other than going for groceries and shovelling it will be a quiet day.

Our trip to my daughter’s will wait for another day as my poor girl has that dreadful cold bug that is going around.

I think shovelling will be keeping me busy …..

Maybe I will do some baking ….. I have some flax seed to use up.

So on this snowy Saturday I hope that you are enjoying your long weekend, as are we.

Happy Easter Weekend.

Special Hello to: my sister and “G” who are globe trotting and are leaving Peru for Las Vegas, today…..Safe Travels.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 26th day of October, 2016.

Another one of many dark mornings to come.

Appears to have been raining overnight.

Still mild so sidewalks and streets should be ice free.

Please be careful …..

Wow only a handful of days left until Halloween and then my time.

My time to put up the tree.

My time to decorate the house inside and out.

My time to send Christmas cards, letters and current photo of me and Alvin.

My time to BAKE.

Our time to appreciate all that we have.

I am so grateful that I can make my own choices when it comes to the above.

I am so grateful for all those who watch over and look after us all.

I am so grateful for my family and friends.

It was a late night and early morning.

I honestly slept in a bit so have to cut this short.

So much running through my head.

One thing:  can I really leave the house with my hair like this?

Yes, I can because I have no time.

It is clean but a little wild.

Will blame it on “being older.”

It could work.

Maybe.

Good for a giggle.

Honestly it is not that bad.

Really.

Am I trying to convince myself?

Yes.

Time to go.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Live in the moment and be mindful.

Special Hello to: my friends and family.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 12th day of March, 2016.

Thirty-six years ago I gave birth to the love of my life.

My daughter turns thirty-six today …… she was born right about this time.

She has truly been the star in my sky.

She never ceases to amaze me with her creative genius and her warm generous heart.

If you ever want to meet truly one of the most perfect creatures on this planet, you would have to come to Alberta, Canada.

When she was in school she would stand between a bully and his victim.

As she ages she has continued in her own quiet way to stay up for people, and for animals.

“A” and her husband have on many occasions came to the rescue of a poor animal whether domestic or wild.

They even rescued a baby magpie.

Happy Birthday My Darling …..

You were the best gift that I have ever been blessed to receive.

Many Happy Days and Years ahead …..

We love you more than words can say.

See you at supper …..

Love Your Mom and Your Little Brother Alvin
