Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 8th day of May, 2015.

The sun is beginning to rise promising to be a great day.

Most of our snowfall melted with the warmth of the sun yesterday.

YAY …… on our way to a great weekend.

The snow helped cleaned up the dust and add some moisture to lessen the dryness.

Mr. Alvin is happy that it is the weekend.

His sister is coming for a visit on Sunday and he always loves when she arrives.

Penny and Elton are coming, too.

I know he misses their presence everyday.

Sometimes we forget to be grateful for our lives.

Today my thoughts go to gratitude.

I am grateful to be good health, to be surrounded by loving family and friends, for my companion Alvin, for my own house, my home, to have electricity and running water, to have books to read, food in my belly, sunshine to warm me, green grass to see, time to write, time to make jewellery, time to have fun and for inspiration. Thank you.

I hope that you have a wonderful Friday and have time to relax and enjoy.

Special Hello to: all the Mothers out there …. this is your special time.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 15th day of March, 2015.

Today is the Birthday of my great-niece “S” …… Happy Birthday Darling.

Seems like she was just a baby a few months ago….. now she is 12.

I always loved when she would come for a sleepover with her Grandma, my sister.

I barely got over my daughter turning “35” and now this baby niece is 12 and I haven’t aged a bit.

Well okay maybe a bit …. couple years or so.

Time just has a way of getting away on us, and we forget just how important it is to take even though occasional “free moments” to tell those around you that you love them.

To remind each other that we are important……

To remember all of those shiny moments such as births…..

That is going to be my “note to self” …… try to contact in some way shape or form as many family and friends to tell them that I have not forgotten them and that I do think of them often and that I care.

Likely will be via FB or email but still I am going to reach out.

Considering that I work seven days a week now ….. but challenging oneself is always good.

So on this bright sunny awesome morning I ask you to contact at least one person that you have not been in recent touch with to say “Hello.”

Simple as that.

You can write, telephone, text, email, FB, tweet, SKYPE or any other form of communication you can think of ….. okay.

Let’s do it.

Have the best Sunday ever.

Thank you for being you ….

Special Hello to: my great-niece “S”

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 12th day of February, 2015.

Wow tomorrow is Friday the 13th and Saturday is Valentine’s Day.

Two weeks till March.

Spring is close.

I love spring.

Some of my fondest memories from my childhood are of spring.

I can recall the “smell” of spring ….. the ice melting ……

The air was so refreshing … inviting.

I remember wanting it to stay that way forever.

Crocuses would cover some of our nearby pasture areas.

The purple so beautiful.

I wished that I would have had a camera …..

I have not seen a purple field of crocuses since I was a little girl.

I remember the first time I actually saw a crocus and thought the flower was wearing a furry blanket.

The thoughts of a child.

Spring also brought the babies ….. I especially loved the baby calves ….. their fur so soft and beautiful.

Spring ….. ODE to spring ……

I love spring.

I shall treasure my memories of you forever.

I shall think of you often.

When I think of you a smile graces my face.

Thank you, spring.

Well here we are once again …. time to go to work.

I would love to be retired so that I could stay at home with me Alvin, make jewellery and write.

I would love to explore writing and take it to the next level.

Have an awesome day.

What brings a smile to your face?

Special Hello to: lovers of spring.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 5th day of November, 2014.

I am back after being sick for the past couple of days.

So great to be feeling better.

I had a surprise phone call from my sister last night letting me know that she is coming for a visit this weekend.

Crazy …… now that is such a great surprise.

We have been having such wonderful weather here in Edmonton.

I hope that it will stay for a few more weeks.

Perfect weather for someone to travel.

How are you all doing this morning?

Can you believe that only two more days and we are finished one whole week in November?

I did put my tree up on the weekend and we did get the front of the house decorated which was great.

Next Christmas cards and a bit of baking.

I have to sit down and draw up my Christmas card list and then set to work on drafting my Christmas letter.

This has been an eventful year chalked full of news.

Do you send out cards for the holidays?

I always enjoy receiving a card and letter.

Most especially the letter …..

It always makes me feel wonderful and warm inside….

I am always grateful that someone took the time to write up a letter and pick up a stamp and mail it.

Now that all takes time and how great for us that people do this.

I wished that people sent more letters.

How about this holiday season ….. even if you have never sent a card and letter ….. that you do it.

You will make someone so happy.

Give it a whirl ……. you never know ….. you might like it and keep up the tradition.

Thank you.

Special Hello to: my sister …..

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 16th day of May, 2014.

Well as I look write this blog it is raining here at my house.

So I was thinking that I need to think of something cheery to bright my moment.

I thought of the exact most perfect thing.

This happens most mornings and I am so grateful but on this kind of a morning I am feeling truly blessed.

You all know “me Alvin” ……. my cute four-legged companion …… the guy that everyone LOVES…..

When I have a shower I always place a mat in front of the tub so that when I get out I have something secure to stand on ….. you know so that I do not slip …… have to be careful now that I am approaching “60” ……

When I got into the shower Alvin was lying on “our” bed …..

I hear a little noise and peeked out from behind the shower curtain to see Mr. Alvin sitting on the bath mat.

Now most times he just lays down but this time he was standing on guard.

He had his back to me sitting on his haunches looking away from the tub.

Ah, so sweet.

My boy protecting his Momma.

He stayed in that position until I was done ….

I know this because when I turned off the shower and opened the curtain he was still there … same position.

I am truly blessed.

He always is there to watch over me.

I know he is this “woman’s” best friend ….

Well time to go to and feed Aussie …. neighbour’s cat.

Now she is another story ….. I hope she warms up to me today.

Have a great Friday.

Special Hello to: all the dog lovers out there ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 22nd day of April, 2014.

WOW ….. what a great weekend I had.

Weather was spectacular.

Most of the snow has melted.

Cleaned up the neighbourhood.

Looks so much better …..

Had several long walks with “me Alvin.”

Had a wonderful walk with my daughter, her puppies and of course, Alvin.

Between all of the items on my “to do list” ….. I had lots of time to have the odd nap and RELAX.

Yesterday morning I had coffee with my friend down the street.

We always have a great visit.

We laugh …. we cry (no tears yesterday).

It is always good to have someone to talk to ….. to really talk to ….. to vent if you need to …… get things off your chest ….. away from your heart.

Protect the heart ….. keep the stress level down …… that is why it is good to talk to someone.

This doesn’t mean that you have bad things to gossip about …. it just means that you need to release all of the things that you think about continuously.

So all in all, I had the best weekend.

It was so great to have three complete days off in a row.

The only place I went was the grocery store other than out for my coffee break and walks.

Perfect.

I hope that you had that kind of weekend.

Thank you again for taking the time to read my blog …. I really appreciate you and your time.

Well supposed to be another 16 degree celsius day ….. that is great.

The rest of the week is another story.

I turned off the furnace yesterday so hopefully it won’t cool down too much.

Have a great Tuesday.

I will be back tomorrow.

Special Hello to: all of those people who take the time to read our blogs ….. you rock and if you write one …. double ROCK.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Evening and I hope that you had an awesome Thursday the 17th day of October.

Wow, hard to believe it is almost the weekend once again.

When we were on our walk last night Mr. Alvin ate something before I could stop him.

Last night we were up most of the night.

He threw up and I cleaned up.

He threw up again, and I cleaned up.

Changed bedding.

Changed bedding again.

Tried to comfort him.

Took him outside as he “asked.”

I am not certain how many hours I got of sleep but it was not nearly enough but as any good Mom would do “I survived.”

I did contemplate staying at home but I had way too much work to do and by morning he was much better.

So I went to work.

It was a good day.

So that is the reason why I did not have my blog to you bright and early this morning.

Too pooped to write …. to pooped to make sense.

I hope that you all had a great day.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day…..

Last night I chatted on the phone with my BFF Linda from back in Regina.

It was so wonderful to finally catch up with her.

We both lead busy lives and somedays as you all know ….. time just gets away on us.

If you think about it for a second.

Weren’t you going to call Aunt Mary or Cousin Fran, your BFF or perhaps your Mom or Sister or Brother?

Time continues on no matter what is going on with our lives.

So we must make the time for those important calls.

When you think of someone take a minute or two and send that communication …. however you do (phone, e-mail, cell or text… JUST DO IT.

I know that the person on the other end of the “line” will be so grateful and happy that you did.

So on this Friday morning as I write these few words …. I am so grateful that my BFF took the time out of her busy schedule to call me.

It was absolutely FANTASTIC.

Have a wonderful, blessed, great, happy, amazing, awesome FRIDAY and weekend everyone.

Always, Carol

P.S. HELLO to:  Cindy, John, Tyler, Dara, Troy, Paulette, Taylor, Diana, Danielle, Ingrid, Cindy, Wayne, Jeannette, Pat M, Mary Lynn, Deanna, Ladies Group and all my “PEEPS” ……… YOU ARE ALL IMPORTANT TO ME.

TO ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY YOU ARE THE BEST.  WHETHER NEAR OR FAR – YOU SHALL ALWAYS REMAIN IN MY HEART AND MIND.

Thought for the day……

My thought for the day …… is that everyone needs a champion.

Someone who “blasts” their horn to the world about someone that ….

may be a hero to the down trodden…

may prepare food for those in need….

may write words that conduct laughter…

may protect children…

may just need someone to care.

These champions are the true heroes of the world.

I tip my hat or better yet raise my hands to them.

To all the Champions of the WORLD.

May you live in great health, happiness and abundance.

Have a great day….

Always, Carol
