It is a NEW YEAR.

Good Morning and welcome to Wednesday affectionately known as “Hump Day.”

The sun is shining, the sky is that beautiful perfect blue with just the odd wisp of white clouds.

Another work day here in just a little bit.

Oh, how I love this commute.

If I went from this computer to my work one it would be not even three steps, closer to 2.5.

How is that for a commute?

I know that I am very blessed to be able to work from home.

Even though there are days, well I should say moments that I could “scream” with my job, I am grateful for it.

I am quite certain that anyone with a job has those days.

I love being here for Alvin.

He follows me around the house from room to room.

I love that I have at a minimum 1.15 hours extra each day to enjoy with Alvin.

That is the difference when working from home.

If I was catching the bus it would 2.5 hours.

So this is a huge time to have at home.

Enjoy this time.

I know that I am.

I have more time to putz in my yard and thankfully it is now spring and soon summer.

I can go for two walks each day with Mr. Alvin.

Just more time to enjoy.

I am loving it.

This coming Sunday, I invited the girls over for coffee on the deck (instead of inside the garage).

10:00 a.m.

Hoping the weather would cooperate.

Please no wind and not like the gale force winds at our last coffee get together in the garage.

I was chatting with another friend and she said to enjoy this coming weekend (as I work and she thinks I work too hard) and what would I be doing with my daughter for Mother’s Day.

Whaaaat? I said.

Mother’s Day.

No.

“Yes”, she said.

I ran over to the calendar on the fridge and low and behold “Coffee with Girls @ 10:00 a.m.” and right underneath in fine print “Mother’s Day.”

Yikes.

I cannot believe that all three of us missed that it was Mother’s Day.

Isn’t that a typical Mother thing to do, forget your special Day.

Although everyday should be Mother’s Day.

As I said to my friend just that “Everyday is Mother’s Day for me.”

So after we hung up, I quickly texted the girls.

One of the two just realized the date as her husband mentioned something.

Coffee will be on the deck on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.

YAY.

Well my friends it is time to grab that cup of coffee and sign onto the computer and get to work.

I never in my wildest dreams thought that I would or could do my job from home.

95%, I can and the remainder we could likely find a way.

I wish you a sunny beautiful Wednesday.

Remember to breathe.

Life is always throwing us a curveball or two along the way.

This is just one of those.

So we do the best that we can.

We will get through this.

Hopefully when we do go back to work – we will fit all of our clothes.

I have not tried “button pants” as of late.

Perhaps they will be a thing of the past.

Not sure if that would be a good thing or not.

Okay, yes I am going.

Just so much to say.

Always, happens at the last.

Happy Wednesday.

With much kindness and so much respect for you.

I/We remain,

Always, Carol & Alvin

Living … One day at a time

Hello,

Good Morning.

YAY, today is Friday.

So am looking forward to the weekend.

House needs to be cleaned and I need to cuddle with my boy.

What a week we have had.

Sometimes you get “bad news” but it works out in the end.

Gotta love that.

So it goes to show that there is no point in getting upset / stressed / riled up / angry / mad / sad or whatever the negative emotion.

Until the final word has been spoken or the final ink to paper.

One never knows where things will go.

I am a firm believer in the positive and even though I may feel a tad bit upset initially that is mostly due to the shock of the news.

Right?

Just to remain positive, calm, kind and respectful in all situation.

Most people are shocked when they hear “bad news” or “major change to their norm” and that is understandable.

I am sorry to be cryptic but because it involves my work, I won’t give any details.

Suffice to say for now the wave has subsided.

So weatherwise we have moisture.

It rained off and on yesterday and last night.

HOWEVER we managed to get a short walk in and a visit with our friend who was out in her garden.

I love our chats.

She even temporarily transplanted a GERANIUM and brought it over for me.

I have to transplant it into a pot to winter.

So I will have pink flowers all winter long and then can transplant into my garden in the spring.

Lucky me.

So excited.

Just have to find the right pot.

Tomorrow is to be cooler and cloudy so hopefully I can finish off my outdoor work.

Teddy may come for a visit tomorrow.

We love to have him over and then Humphrey may join us in the afternoon.

Well looks like getting close to the time that I have to leave.

I have to change purses as I am catching the bus home tonight and stopping at the vet.

Alvin needs to eat.

My neighbour is giving me a ride this morning as my carpool took the day off.

Also you know, I am going to type that FOUR LETTER word …… P-O-O-P.

Have to clean the morning stuff up from the back yard.

Well I hope that you have an awesome Friday.

I am thinking today is going to be AMAZING.

I see only GREAT NEWS in my future.

GREAT GREAT NEWS.

I hope that it is the same for you.

Happy Friday.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 8th day of May, 2017.

What an awesome weekend I had …..

A sense of accomplishment for all of the jobs around the house and yard that were finished.

A visit with my daughter, son-in-law and grand-pups yesterday.

While my son-in-law ran a quick errand, my daughter and I took the pups for a wonderful walk.

It was a bit cooler to start but by the time we got home it had warmer up considerably.

Nothing like a good cup of coffee with loved ones to end your weekend.

Thank you for the early Mother’s Day gift …..

So full …..

I am so grateful that I am surrounded by love, respect and kindness.

The ground was wet yesterday morning so I decided to do the trash pick-up another day ….

With rain Saturday night ….. the trash would be wet.

Lugging around wet cardboard and stuff is not fun.

Well this morning the sun has risen and the sky is blue.

Great start.

Monday morning here I come.

Guess I will be taking the next bus as I just needed that extra 15 minutes on the sofa.

Sunday nights are not the best for sleeping sometimes.

Will have to change my Sunday night mantra.

Anyway I will arrive at work on-time.

Have an awesome Monday everyone.

Special Hello to: friends and family.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Friday the 18th day of September, 2015.

Well I was mistaken yesterday about the frost.

Jack hit ….

On my way to the bus I saw the frost on the lawns and vehicles.

During the ride to work there was fog in low lying areas and frost.

Luckily my flowers survived uncovered and I am grateful.

A few more days is wonderful especially when the weekend is supposed to be 20 degrees celsius.

It was absolutely gorgeous outside last night when Alvin and I went for our walk.

The air was warm, no breeze and the roses are still fragrant.

Well almost time to leave for work.

I am grateful that today is Friday.

Lots of things on my LIST for the weekend.

Outside chores ….. lawn needs to be cut ….. check out the shrubs I guess they should be trimmed before it get to cold.

Start putting things away.

Inside …. the regular laundry …. cleaning ….. preparing for next Saturday’s Steeped Tea party ….. what to pack my things in… you know stuff like that.

Well I am catching an earlier bus these days.

Time to get going …..

I hope that you have an awesome Friday …..

Special Hello to:  to all those folks who are prepared ……

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day……

Good Morning and Welcome to Tuesday the 12th day of May, 2015.

Sun coming up …..

Great start to this wonderful Tuesday morning.

Last night I raked the front lawn and gathered up the hundreds of cork size bits of soil from the aeration.

I thought it would never end.

There literally were hundreds of them.

Also just saying ….. THEY WERE HEAVY when placed in the recycling bag.

Followed by a good watering.

The ground is so dry that watering is likely in the future if we want green grass unless Mother Nature decides to help us out.

Mr. Alvin was out with me for a bit until he was so excited by something that I could not see that I let him back into the house.

It was so relaxing and so much fun being outside doing this small amount of yard work.

No matter what our days are filled with …. work …. school whatever …. we have our homes.

Most of us are so blessed to have our own homes.

I know that I cannot speak for everyone.

If you are blessed enough to have your own yard or even a balcony or patio space ….. go OUTSIDE.

Use it.

Plant some flowers ….. maybe some herbs or veggies …. put a chair out there.

It is so great to be outside ….. most of us do not fully utilize our green space.

Even if you do not have your own ….. there are parks usually not far away …..

Have fun, enjoy.

We also enjoyed a beautiful walk last night.

Well time to finish getting ready to go to the office.

Have a great Tuesday ……

Deep breath … you can do it.

Special Hello to: my cousin “J” in Saskatoon ….. miss you cousin.

Always, Carol and Alvin
