Second Half of the NEW YEAR.

Good Morning ALL,

TGIF.

I never really used that “term” when it was all the rage back in the day.

I do not even remember what decade it was ….. 80’s maybe??

Anyway in this decade it seems as though the younger ones are all about using abbreviations for everything.

Yes, I know they do not refer to the shortened versions of words as abbreviations, there are all sorts of words to describe.

Also in this decade it is all about the memes and emojis, words that are new to us older folk.

Always something …. what will be next, I wonder?

Food for thought.

After work last night Alvin and I enjoyed a nice walk.

The air was warm and no gale force wind or bugs.

Just gorgeous.

Today they said 24 degrees celsius.

That would be considered a warm summer’s day.

There is a breeze out there this morning.

But it was warm when I was out earlier picking up the little treasures Alvin leaves for me on the grass.

I love the little guy.

Never would have thought that I would have a doggie and be picking up poop from my backyard.

Actually I dreamed of having my own backyard and it wasn’t until several months before it happened that I started to think that I could have one.

I likely kept the house out of my life all those years when I was a single Mom.

Perhaps if I had changed my train of thought and had been thinking “anything is possible and I can have a house” ….. it may have happened much sooner.

Oh well, I am happy that I have one now and my daughter well she has a beautiful one …..

Sometimes you have to work your way up.

Mr. Alvin was up just after 3:00 a.m. as his paws were bothering him, he also had to pee and poop.

Too much information, sorry.

So up we went.

I gave him his glucosamine chew and also a pain pill.

Outside to do his thing and then back to the sofa.

I wanted to get up at 6:15 and we had woke up but I was tired and thought it was earlier than it was ….

Next time it was 6:38 a.m.

So had to put the pedal to the metal this morning.

Thankfully I still had time to have a shower and do what I needed to do.

Well time to go and I definitely need that cup of coffee this morning.

I hope that you have the best Friday ever.

I wish you love and support, compassion and care, kindness and respect.

Living my life with kindness and respect

I/We shall remain,

As Always, Carol & Alvin

Was taken a bit ago but I love these flowers …. so pretty.

We all need a bit of pretty in our lives……..

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 12th day of February, 2018.

Happy Birthday to one of my co-workers who celebrates today.

Another cold morning but warming up for a few days.

We had a great day yesterday.

Alvin and I hosted a belated Birthday party for one of our friends.

Two adults (Moms) and three children attended.

We had a great visit and the chocolate birthday cake was a hit.

We had a bit of time in between our next set of company.

My friend’s sister and our little four legged buddy “Teddy” came for an afternoon visit.

We really liked J, she is such a nice person.

Great conversation.

I do look forward to their next visit, as does Mr. Alvin.

They are coming over on Wednesday evening for a short visit and then for supper on Sunday.

I think they get lonely in such a big house.

Well I cannot believe that it is Monday already, where did the weekend go?

I guess we were so busy that the time just got away from us.

I wish you all a wonderful Monday.

Dress warm, stay safe and be kind.

FLASHBACK Monday – photos of me in mid 20’s and Alvin as a young pup.

Ah, Mama’s boy…….isn’t he cute!!!

Baby Alvin

AKA: Conehead

Happy Monday.

Special Hello to: my friends and family back in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Sunday the 19th day of June, 2016.

The sky is a mix of clouds and sunshine.

Today marks “Father’s Day” here in Canada and the United States.

Happy Father’s Day to all those Dad everywhere.

Thank you for watching over your families and for being supportive.

Thank you for everything you do …. from tying shoe laces to reading bedtime stories to teaching us to drive a motor vehicle.

I was just thinking a few minutes ago about Alvin and that he will never have his own family.

We took that from him.

Our hearts and minds were in the right place or that is what we think.

I will admit that I never thought of things from that perspective.

Most dogs when they mate do not stay together anyway because of us.

I know most times there is  legitimate reasoning behind why they do not mate and have the babies together.

But it is sad.

Most animals in the wild stay together.

The male watches over the female and the young ones.

Hunting and protecting.

Just makes me sad that he will never have his own little boy to play with ….

Perhaps that is why most dogs treat the young ones differently than the ones there age or older.

Well food for thought.

Wishing every male on the planet a “Happy Father’s Day” whether you have procreated or not.

I am certain that most males at one point during their lifetime have been protective or helped a young one.

So on that basis I wish you all a Happy Father’s Day.

After all, we should be thinking about this earth as a community, and should be helping each other and every inhabitant, every living creature along the way.

We share this place.

We share this place together.

Well time to go and start making pancakes as my daughter is coming for a visit.

I think it is a good time to make pancakes for her visit.

Have a great day everyone ….

Special Hello to:  all the Dad’s out there … wherever you may be.

Always, Carol and Alvin
