2021

Good Morning ALL! How are you this morning? We are up and at it. Mr. Alvin is having a “fit” downstairs as I hastily try to write this post midst the barking and whining. Not sure why some mornings he is better than others but that is the way that it is. I left the light on for the stairs so he knows that I am up here and I have called down to him but nothing seems to make him feel less anxious. Life in my house. I am trying. It seems whenever I get confident that things are turning around this happens. Oh well, he is fine. In good health, has a belly full of food, I just heard him take a drink of water (yup all the way up here) and he went outside at 5:00 a.m., and he is loved. So I think he is good. Just a bit on the anxious side.

Yesterday one of my friends who lives close by popped in for a visit and coffee and a game of JENGA. We chatted about life and work and it was over two hours later and we had not had a game of JENGA. She had to leave a bit later so we managed to score a couple of games of JENGA. I was also happy that she won both games. My friend seems to think that I am really good at this game and that she can never “win” against me. I personally don’t care if I win or lose, it is playing the game and being surrounded by good company. So I was very happy when she won both games. Happy for her and happy for me. Isn’t that the way life should be. Doesn’t matter if you win or lose!

My youngest brother called during our visit so I called him back after our company went home. It was so nice to hear his voice. He is a good kid, a great younger brother and he is 56. So not really a kid but he will always be that little one that I looked after when he was a baby and a small child. He lives in Calgary which is approximately 3 hours from here. It all depends on what area of the City you live in as to how long the drive can be. Anyway, his family are doing well and he is doing well and that is all that matters. We chatted about life, about family, about his job and a multitude of things before saying goodbye until next time. It was a reminder that I need to speak to my sister and catch up. Life seems to always get in the way and before you know it ….. significant time has passed.

Alvin and I went for a walk after the phone call with my brother and were so happily surprised to see our friend Pauline outside in the yard. She finished up what she was doing and joined us for a walk. We went on a different route that our normal one and ended up home almost one hour later. We slowly walked about letting Alvin take the lead. I had a sweater on under my coat and was actually hot by the time we got home. It was not hot according to the temperature check but there was no wind and the air felt warm. The walk was most enjoyable.

Okay, I can no longer retain my composure with someone squeaking downstairs so I shall go. Wishing you a wonderful day. A friend of mine “C” has a birthday today. Happy Birthday to you. We used to carpool before the Pandemic and I have not seen her since starting to work from home. Just the way things worked out. I miss our drives to and from work.

Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience (really working on that this morning), love, laughter, understanding and gratitude.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Saturday the 27th day of October, 2018.

Wow, I could have slept longer or at least stayed laying down if Mr. Alvin had not kept at me to get my butt up.

We have been up and down since about 3:00 a.m. hence the reason for me being a sleepy head.

Anyway all is well …. we are both up and the day has started.

I snapped some photos as another beautiful day on the way.

I am happily shocked and surprised that my SNAPDRAGONS are still blooming.

It is almost the end of October, 2018.

WOW.

So I have some photos for you to check out.

The sky looks like an artist’s canvas with streaks of white, yellow, dark blue and grey.

The sun is piercing with it’s brightness.

What a glorious sky.

So beautiful.

A few minutes ago when I snapped the above photos the sky had more pinks and light blues but now is as described above.

Funny how the sky had change in mere minutes.

I am sad that I will be digging up the rest of my flowers but wanted to enjoy them as long as possible.

There should be lots of seed pods for me to pick for spring.

You would never know it is almost the end of October from the above photos other than the scarecrow and a few less flowers in my back yard.

Isn’t life grand.

Last night my daughter picked me up after work and we made a trip to COSTCO.

I still have lots of fruits and veggies so I only needed a couple of items.

Bananas and tomatoes.

A staple in our kitchen.

My daughter stayed for supper and I shared some homemade chilli with her.

We had a visit which was pleasantly interrupted by my friend who popped by to grab the chair to fix in his garage.

After she went home I received a phone call from my youngest brother who lives in Calgary.

We had a great chat.

He is starting his own blog and asked for some tips.

Well I guess it is getting late here and there is lots to do.

Next weekend on Friday my daughter is sleeping over and we are putting up … wait for it ….

the CHRISTMAS TREE.

I am over the moon excited for that as it always gives me extra energy and makes me smile.

Have a great Saturday.

Happy Birthday to one of my friends “S” who celebrates a birthday today.

Special Hello to: my brother T …… enjoy blogging.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Wednesday the 24th day of October, 2018.

I am back.

Was down yesterday with a headache and just not overall feeling well.

Feeling better.

Later yesterday afternoon Alvin and I went for a walk.

The first bit of the walk I was thinking perhaps this was a bad idea and then once I ploughed through it – all was well.

Sometimes this happens after you have not been feeling well and then do a big chore or exercise.

Anyway we enjoyed the walk.

It was the perfect calm.

It was the perfect temperature.

It was the perfect walk.

Of course another side effect of staying home and sleeping ….. is that you are awake all or most of the night.

Oh well, it happens.

We are so happy to have this beautiful fall / autumn weather.

Sunny skies.

Warm temperatures.

Happy Dance.

Hard to believe that Halloween is right around the corner.

Next Wednesday.

I guess that makes it exactly one week away.

I have the house decorated and a bit outside.

I have bought the treats.

I am just deciding what to wear for work.

The carpool took the day off so that means I will have to dress up when I get to work.

Meaning I will have to leave extra early for work.

ARGH….

I guess it means keep it simple.

I can do that.

Master Teddy is coming for a sleepover and then will go home Thursday night.

YAY, Alvin will be happy.

Well it is almost time to leave for work.

Just a few things to do and see if Mr. Alvin needs to go back outside.

I hope that you all have an awesome WEDNESDAY.

Next week we can call it “WEIRD WEDNESDAY.”

Happy Wednesday for this week.

Special Hello to: my younger brother who is also beginning his “blogging – writing” journey.  I cannot wait to read your work and I know that you will be GREAT.

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day …..

Good Morning and Welcome to Monday the 5th day of February, 2018.

Happy Birthday to my friend “S.”

Well today is my first day back to work after being gone for a whole week.

Alvin was getting used to me being at home.

I will miss his snuggles the most.

He will miss having a beck and call Momma ….

He likes to go out to the back yard lots whenever I am at home no matter what the weather is like.

It will determine the length of his stay in the back yard, the weather.

So Monday …… what are you thinking about this morning?

Me, well I am nervous.

It almost feels like the first day.

Always is that way for me when I am gone for more than a couple of days.

The temperature remains cold but warmer than last week.

Oh, winter in Alberta, Canada.

This month is a huge birthday month for my family and friends.

My birthday calendar has some for almost each day this month.

I cannot believe that my youngest brother’s youngest turned 21 years old, yesterday.

Crazy.

Time it goes.

That is one measurement or thing in life that you do not have to worry about passing.

If you have a bad day or less than stellar one, well it will pass and then you can try again tomorrow or even later in the day.

We have so many opportunities to make things better.

I guess that is why there is 24 hours in one day and 365 days in a year and so on.

Opportunities.

All we have to do is take them.

Give it a try.

No one has a perfect life although sometimes the grass does look greener on the other side.

But you can have your perfect life.

The most perfect life for you.

Just for you.

So take a deep breathe and go to it.

Dream big …. why not?

Do it.

There is no time like the present.

Happy Monday, Everyone.

PS lucky me, I will have a ride to work on my first day back.  My neighbour just called.

Special Hello to: all those celebrating birthdays today including our friend “S.”

Always, Carol & Alvin

Thought for the day ….

Good Morning and Welcome to Thursday the 11th day of May, 2017.

A glorious morning ….. I can see the sunrise …… so beautiful.

Blue sky …… YAY…..

Doing the happy dance.

This has been a week full of little surprises.

All good.

Last night my youngest brother called me.

So nice to chat with him and catch up.

Life has a way of getting away on a person.

Sometimes you just have to take the time and catch up.

I hope that you all have a wonderful day.

May it be full of promise and fulfillment.

Happy Thursday everyone.

Special Hello to: my siblings ….. looking forward to seeing you all this summer.

Always, Carol and Alvin

Thought for the day….

Good Wednesday Morning and Welcome to the 22nd day of May 2013 ….

How are you this beautiful morning?

I am absolutely fantastic.

I had a great evening last night.

My little brother telephoned me ….. yes, the old fashioned way.

We talked for over 1.5 hours ….. so great to hear from him.

They do not live far away from me but yet our lives keep us busy and apart.

He is such a joy and it was great touching base with him.

Hearing all his news and what’s been keeping him busy.

We are close …. me and my siblings …. we just happen not to see each other often.

I think you can be close and not see each other daily.

I hope that you had a great night.

Did you do something that you love to do?

Did you relax?

Have the best day ever ….

Happy Day ….

Special Hello to: YOU  ….. you rock.  Did I tell you that before?  Also I appreciate you so much.  Thank you for being you.

Always, Carol and Alvin
