Good Morning ALL! We are in the final countdown days. FIVE SLEEPS until Christmas Eve Day. I cannot believe that it is less than one week away. Are you ready? Does it matter? Everything always works out just the way it is supposed to. I am looking forward to today. Last night my friends had to walk earlier before I was home from work as Jeanette had to go back to work in the early evening. You know it worked out well anyway as it had been a long day and I was pooped although a walk in the fresh air likely would have done me some good but anyway! I had forgotten that my Mary Kay Director was hosting a “live” Christmas party at her home in Stony Plain and was also doing a Game of Jeopardy virtually for all those who could not make it. So I had decided to do the virtual game. My first time. We had a lot of laughs and so much fun. Well worth peering at my phone for over one hour. So tonight I get to walk with my friends. I also have to walk to pick up lotto tickets on my lunch break so I will get some steps in today. I am excited for that.
I think you know that you need a break from work when yesterday afternoon we were open to the public. Our door is left locked (at this time) so clients need to knock. Just after 1:00 p.m. there was a loud knock. My coworker and carpool driver was off for the afternoon so I was the only one looking after the clients that came to the office. I looked out and saw it was a client and went back and sat down, thinking we were closed. There was another knock at the door, I got up and went and opened the door to the same person. I said hello and remarked about our hours that we were open and she said puzzled, you are open and then I realized that yes we were open. OMG. Apologizing I let her in. A few minutes before this person arrived there had been another knock on the door and it was one of the vendors dropping off a gift basket for our office. We are not allowed to keep anything so it goes to the main office. They will have draws and put everyone’s names in for the draws. We also had clients that dropped off treats and they went to the main office as well. The floodgates opened and while the first client was there, another came and another and another. It was a revolving door. I would finish with one and another one would come in. That kept up for a good couple of hours. I had so hoped that it would be quiet so that I could get some mail done but not the case. Oh well. Not much one can do. I am so excited for our Christmas break.
So that was my Monday. Not bad but parts were strange.
I am grateful for Tuesdays. I am grateful for quiet mornings at the office. I am grateful for friends and family. I am grateful for this mild weather. I am grateful for winning lotto tickets. I am grateful to be in good health. I am grateful to be alive. I am grateful for Christmas. I am grateful for my life.
I hope that you have a wonderful Tuesday.
Continuing to live this life with kindness, respect, compassion, patience, love, laughter, understanding, gratitude, focus, possibilities, coffee and forgiveness.
Always, Carol & My Forever Angel Alvin
PS: did not win the Jeopardy game. Our team did well but did not win. There were two teams. The questions were all MARY KAY related. But it was fun.
